Boyd Gordon (upper body) took part in a full practice Saturday.

Gordon is a bottom-two center who has little fantasy value but is a valued hockey player. He is on long-term injured reserve and has not played in over four weeks. He could return at any time but shouldn't be on your roster as he has only one goal in eight games.

The Flyers made the move in order to activate Michael Raffl. Gordon hasn't played since Oct. 29 due to an upper-body ailment.

Nov 1 - 11:01 AM

Boyd Gordon should make a big difference to the Flyers penalty killing.

Gordon is a PK specialist and is also quite good on the draw, so this should help the Flyers who were 20th overall last season while shorthanded. "I've done it my whole career," Gordon said. "Some years have been better than others, but it's something I've always taken pride in. Special teams are huge now." The move to sign Gordon should also help Claude Giroux as he won't be required to do as much penalty killing work as in the past. Gordon has limited fantasy value but will chip in with the occasional goal.
Sep 26 - 9:02 AM

Boyd Gordon was part of an on-ice collision on Tuesday and had to go to the Flyers' locker room for facial stitches.

This is just an FYI as it sounds like this shouldn't disrupt his ability to participate in the Flyers' training camp. He inked a one-year, $950,000 deal with Philadelphia in July.
Sep 13 - 3:16 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Boyd Gordon to a one-year contract worth $950K.

Gordon will line up as the Flyers fourth line center. He had two goals and four points in 67 games with Arizona last season, so his fantasy value is negligible.
Jul 1 - 2:21 PM

Boyd Gordon is expected to test free agency in July.

The Coyotes have only confirmed that they want to sign one of their pending unrestricted free agents and that is Shane Doan. Arizona wants to get younger, but they are open to talk if the veterans want to stay.
Jun 14 - 4:03 PM

Boyd Gordon collected his second goal of the season during Friday's 4-1 win over the Flames.

Gordon is now up to a massive two goals and four points across 51 games this season. He may not compete for the scoring title, but you don't hear his teammates complaining tonight.
Mar 12 - 2:40 AM

Boyd Gordon scored a goal in the Arizona Coyotes 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night.

Gordon's goal was his first this season; giving him a total of three points in forty-nine games played. Gordon's goal ended Semyon Varlamov's shutout bid with eleven minutes and thirteen seconds remaining in the third period. Sergei Plotnikov and Kevin Connauton assisted on Gordon's goal.
Mar 8 - 1:07 AM

The Arizona Coyotes have activated Boyd Gordon from the injured list.

Gordon is expected to return for Saturday night's game against the Florida Panthers. The 32-year-old has two assists in 47 games this season. The injury has kept him out since Feb. 5.
Mar 5 - 2:42 PM

Boyd Gordon (hand) is regarded as day-to-day at this point.

Gordon hasn't played since he blocked a shot on Feb. 4. He has two assists in 47 contests in 2015-16.
Mar 3 - 10:29 AM

Boyd Gordon (upper body) is still at least a week away from returning to action.

That was the line from coach Dave Tippett who saw Gordon on the ice during an optional practice as the Coyotes ready themselves to play the Flyers in Philadelphia Saturday. Gordon has been out since February 4 when he blocked a shot with his hand. He has little to no fantasy value.
Feb 27 - 6:00 AM

Boyd Gordon (upper body) is expected to travel with the Coyotes on their upcoming five-game road trip.

Gordon might not be able to return before the end of that trip, but the Coyotes want to keep him skating. Just keep in mind that puckhandling is still an issue for him right now, so he's not close to returning.
Feb 18 - 4:37 PM

Boyd Gordon (upper body) skated on Monday for the first time since he was injured blocking a shot with his hand on Feb. 4.

"He's trying to keep some skating legs," coach Dave Tippett said. "He's still weeks away. ... I think he's going to see the doctor this week again."
