The Florida Panthers aren't going to hold a grudge against Sean Bergenheim (groin) after he won two grievances against them.
Bergenheim's victories mean that the Panthers will have to pay his full salary. He was suspended him without pay after he sustained the injuries during the lockout. "We're not in a position to say [goodbye] to anybody who scored [20 goals, including playoffs]," Panthers GM Dale Tallon said. Sean Bergenheim has won his grievance with the Panthers and will be paid his salary less the escrow amount.

The Panthers had suspended Bergenheim without pay for injuring his hip and abdomen while playing in Finland during the lockout. Bergenheim, who will require surgery to repair the damage to his hip, will miss the rest of the season. At least he won't be short on cash.

Sean Bergenheim isn't expected to be back any time soon from his groin injury.

The Panthers aren't commenting on his status because he isn't being treated by the team's medical staff after getting hurt while playing overseas during the lockout. Bergenheim has been ailing since October, but it's unclear if he will require surgery. All we know right now is that he is out indefinitely.

Sean Bergenheim will start the season suspended and on the injured list due to a groin injury he sustained while playing in Finland.

No word on how long he will be out of action but it could be a while still. If Alexei Kovalev rekindles his magic and Jonathan Huberdeau sticks with the team, Bergenheim may be looking at a third-line role when he returns to the Panthers' lineup. We can't endorse him at this time.

Sean Bergenheim failed to receive medical clearance, prompting the Florida Panthers to hand him an injury suspension.

No word yet on whether or not the Finnish forward needs surgery. His absence could increase the chances of Alexei Kovalev and Marek Svatos making the team, although it might also improve Jonathan Huberdeau and other prospects' chances immensely as well.

Sean Bergenheim (groin) still has to undergo an MRI before the team will announce his status for the start of the regular season.

He did not attend practice on Monday because he paying his respects at the funeral of Dominic Moore's wife, Katie, who tragically passed away from a rare form of liver cancer last week. Bergenheim hasn't skated for several weeks, so it's doubtful that he will be ready for the start of the year on Saturday.

GM Dale Tallon is slated to provide an update on Bergenheim's status on Monday. Bergenheim played briefly in his native Finland during the lockout, but was forced to return to North America after it was believed that he aggravated his groin.

He appeared in just two games with IFK Helsinki before leaving with what was believed to be a re-aggravation a groin injury that gave him issues last season with the Florida Panthers. Bergenheim had 23 points in 62 games during his first season with the Panthers. He added six points in seven playoff contests.

Sean Bergenheim has signed a game-by-game deal with IFK Helsinki in the Finnish Elite League.

He will join Lennart Petrell on the Finnish squad. Bergenheim will join IFK on Wednesday and should be in the lineup shortly. The native of Finland should have plenty of fans and family watching him in game action.

Look for Sean Bergenheim to return home to play in Finland in the next week or so.

He apparently has a number of options to play in the country's top league. "I want to play, and I have some options. I’m just looking for what’s best for my family. It would be nice to go home because it’s been a long time since I’ve played there", said Bergenheim. We expect a deal to be signed in the coming days.

Sean Bergenheim fractured his left foot during Game 7 of Florida's first round series.

The incident occurred in the first period, but Bergenheim stayed in the contest. He even registered an assist on the game-tying goal in the third period. He logged 20:52 minutes in the double-overtime contest, but the Panthers were ultimately eliminated, so he'll heal over the summer.

Sean Bergenheim netted his third goal of the postseason in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss against New Jersey.

He has recorded 12 markers over 22 playoff games dating back to last year's success during Tampa Bay's trip to the Eastern Conference finals. Bergenheim has produced five points in six contests versus the Devils and he'll be looking for more in Game 7 on Thursday night.

The NHL Department of Player Safety apparently reviewed the roughing play by Florida's Sean Bergenheim on New Jersey defenseman Anton Volchenkov in the third period.

However, there is no hearing scheduled for Bergenheim so it doesn't look like anything will happen a terms of a suspension. The Florida winger received a two-minute penalty for roughing after being hit by Volchenkov and intentionally falling on him to drive him into the ice. Bergenheim has been excellent in the postseason for the Panthers with two goals and two assists in three games versus the Devils in the series.

Sean Bergenheim has registered two points in the first two games of the Panthers quarter-final series with New Jersey.

He netted a goal in Game 1 and earned an assist in Game 2 to give him 13 points in 18 career postseason appearances. Bergenheim was excellent for Tampa Bay during their run to the Eastern Conference finals last year with nine goals and two assists in 16 contests and he appears to have picked up where he left off.
