Jiri Hudler is sitting in eighth spot in the NHL scoring race with 76 points, heading into the final day of the season Saturday.
Hudler has smashed his best previous mark of 57, set in the 2008-09 season when he was a member of the Detroit Red Wings. "Obviously, I think he came here on a mission, but he had a tough start for us for personal reasons — nothing about hockey," said Flames head coach Bob Hartley. Hudler's father passed away before his first Flames game and that took a toll on the forward. "There were certain events that happened at the end of the work stoppage, and that put him behind the pack, but he kept working, and last year, we started to really see Jiri Hudler take a step on the ice and more importantly in the group." Hudler will lead the Flames into the playoffs as he has 31 goals this season. Apr 11 - 5:33 AM
