Darren Haydar scored the Chicago Wolves' lone goal in their 1-0 victory over the Abbotsford Heat on Wednesday.
Haydar has three goals and five points in his last four games. "He had a slow start to the year and was frustrated because he couldn't score," Wolves coach Scott Arniel said. "But the last (few) games, he's been outstanding. He's been the leader of our team with our offense, but also how he plays with the puck. That shot he had, when he can do that, our chances to win go up." Haydar had 57 points in 70 games with the Chicago Wolves last season. Thu, Dec 20, 2012 08:50:00 AM

That gives Haydar three points in 11 AHL contests. He's 33 and has participated in 23 NHL contests.

Darren Haydar has been called up from the minors.

He has 43 points in 41 games for Lake Erie in the AHL this season.

Darren Haydar has been impressive at the start of the Colorado Avalanche training camp.

The 29-year-old has made a career in the AHL, scoring 31 goals and 80 points for the Red Wings farm team in Grand Rapids last season. He has played only 22 games in the NHL for Nashville and Atlanta. "He's a guy who's looking to make a good impression on us in training camp and that's got to use his quickness and his offensive capabilities because he's smaller in size," coach Joe Sacco said. "But I've liked what he's been able to do offensively. I think the thing with Darren is for him to be able to do it for 200 feet of the ice." Should Haydar make the Avs, it should be as a top-six forward as he is not great defensively. Stay tuned.

Darren Haydar has signed with the Colorado Avalanche.

Haydar spent the 2008-09 campaign as a member of the Grand Rapids Griffins, Detroit's minor-league affiliate in the AHL. He led the team in scoring with 31 goals and 49 assists for 80 points.

Darren Haydar was placed on waivers by the Thrashers on Tuesday.

If he clears waivers, like head coach and general manager Don Waddell believes he will, then the team has the option to keep him on the roster or have him report to Chicago of the AHL.

Darren Haydar may return to the Thrashers' lineup on Thursday.

Haydar has been a healthy scratch for the past 10 games. Unfortunately for the rookie, Haydar lost his spot in the lineup as Don Waddell wanted a more physical presence on the fourth line. He was one of the bright spots before Bob Hartley was fired with six points in 10 games.

Darren Haydar played on the top line on Saturday.

Haydar played on a line with Ilya Kovalchuk and Brian Little in the Thrashers 3-2 win on Saturday garnering an assist. The 28-year-old has some offensive talent and if he gets into the right situation (as in playing with Kovalchuk and Little) he would make a very nice pick up in deeper fantasy pools.

The Atlanta Thrashers recalled Darren Haydar from the minors on Thursday.

Haydar will fill in for the injured Marian Hossa, who has been out for the past two games with a minor groin injury. Haydar is an offensively gifted player, which means that he may get a shot on a scoring line to prove himself over the next game or two.

Darren Haydar was sent to the AHL.

The move was expected after some recent trades were made by Atlanta. Haydar is not a fantasy factor.

Darren Haydar was a healthy scratch on Sunday in Atlanta's 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lighting.

Despite being scratched, Haydar said all the right things. "They're trying to make the team better, and if I'm not one of the pieces of the puzzle, then that's just the way it is," Haydar said. "But I'm going to work as hard as I can to hopefully stick around and do what I can while I'm out there." Haydar has yet to record a point in four NHL games this season.

Darren Haydar was called up by Atlanta from Chicago of the AHL and played Saturday night in the loss to the Flyers.

The good news is that Haydar was leading the AHL in scoring with 89 points in just 49 games and was a former Hobey Baker finalist. The bad news is that he is 27 years old and is 5'9 and 170 pounds. We can't recommend him until we see him succeed at the NHL level.

Darren Haydar has signed a contract with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Haydar signed a two-way deal with Atlanta, and will likely begin the season with Atlanta's farm team in Chicago. The former Hobey Baker Award finalist for best college hockey player had 92 points with Milwaukee of the AHL last season. He does not have any fantasy value unless he can crack the Thrashers' lineup in the fall.

Darren Haydar scored two goals to lead Milwaukee past Grand Rapids 3-2 last night in AHL action.

Former NHL winger Kip Miller registered two assists for the Griffins, who are third in the West Division standings.
