The Florida Panthers have called up Pat Rissmiller from AHL Rochester.

The Panthers got Rissmiller and Niclas Bergfors from Atlanta on February 28th in exchange for Radek Dvorak and a fifth round pick. Rissmiller has 37 points in 48 games with the Lake Erie Monsters and Rochester Americans this season.

Rissmiller was sent to the minors on Saturday and it's not yet known if the Panthers intend to call him up for the remainder of the season. Either way, Rissmiller has no fantasy value.

Patrick Rismiller was demoted to Erie of the AHL Friday afternoon.

His spot was needed for Fredrik Modin, who was activated off the injured list. Needless to say, Rissmiller's demotion is not earth-shattering fantasy news.

Rissmiller will move to the AHL Lake Erie from AHL Chicago. He is expected to report immediately.

If Rissmiller clears waivers, he will start the season with AHL Chicago. He has played in 182 career NHL games, but he spent the entire 2009-10 season in the minors.

Pat Rissmiller is eager to return to NHL duty this season.

He has toiled in the minors for the past two years with the New York Rangers, appearing in just two games in the big league. Rissmiller is looking forward to getting another chance at the NHL with the Thrashers, but he understands that he does not have a roster spot guaranteed for the 2010-11 campaign. He should not be on your fantasy radar though.

Rissmiller scored 20 goals and registered 27 assists in 69 AHL games between Hartford and Grand Rapids last season. He has no fantasy value.

Rissmiller has played in just two NHL games since he signed a three-year/$3 million contract with the Rangers' during the 2008 off-season. If he clears waivers, the Rangers might buy out the final year of his contract.

Pat Rissmiller isn't likely to return to the Rangers' lineup after being sent down to the minors.

Rissmiller signed a three-year/$3 million deal with the Rangers in the off-season, but he only played in two games before being demoted. "In terms of what I think our lineup still needs, I'm not sure he would have met that need," coach Tom Renney said. If the Rangers did want to call up Rissmiller, they would have to send him through recall waivers. If any team claimed him on recall waivers, the Rangers would have to pay half his salary against the cap.

Patrick Rissmiller was placed on waivers Tuesday.

If the forward isn't claimed by noon Wednesday, he will report to their minor league affiliate in Hartford. Rissmiller signed a three-year, $3 million deal in the off-season and while the Rangers still must pay him, his salary won't count against the cap.
