Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) will not resume skating until next week.
Ehrhoff will obviously miss Saturday and Sunday's games, but if he's not even skating until next week then his availability for Wednesday's contest is presumably in question too. He has three goals and 14 points in 43 games in 2014-15. Mar 27 - 5:30 PM

Date:

Christian Ehrhoff is slated to be sidelined for several days, according to coach Mike Johnston.

He was injured on Tuesday night in his return from an undisclosed ailment. In 43 games this season, Ehrhoff has three goals and 14 points. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Mar 26 - 4:49 PM

Christian Ehrhoff was hurt again on Tuesday.

Ehrhoff was returning from an undisclosed injury, but his head collided with the boards as a result of a hit from St. Louis' Vladimir Tarasenko during the first period of Tuesday's game. Ehrhoff left the contest and didn't return. The Penguins defenseman recently dealt with a concussion unrelated from the undisclosed injury he was returning from.
Mar 25 - 11:32 AM

Just to confirm, Christian Ehrhoff (undisclosed) will return on Tuesday.

As expected, the Penguins are going with seven defensemen and 11 forwards tonight. Ehrhoff will be paired with Ben Lovejoy. Forward Andrew Ebbett has obviously been taken out of the lineup given that he was sent to the minors.
Mar 24 - 6:41 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (undisclosed) is expected to take part in Tuesday's game.

Rather than take a defenseman out of the lineup to accommodate Ehrhoff's return, the Penguins are expected to use seven blueliners on Tuesday. Forward Andrew Ebbett has already been sent to the minors, so he'll obviously be taken out of the lineup. If it turns out that Ehrhoff can't play, then Derrick Pouliot should take his place.
Mar 24 - 11:46 AM

Christian Ehrhoff missed Saturday's game due to an undisclosed injury.

The Penguins have specified that Ehrhoff isn't dealing with a concussion. Whatever's bothering him though also kept Ehrhoff off the ice on Sunday. "We have to wait and see if everything settles down with him," Penguins coach Mike Johnston said.
Mar 23 - 10:34 AM

Christian Ehrhoff registered an assist in a 2-1 loss to Dallas Thursday night.

It was Ehrhoff's first point since Jan. 13. He's fallen well below expectations from an offensive perspective as he's recorded just 14 points in 48 games this season.
Mar 20 - 11:16 AM

Christian Ehrhoff (concussion) is expected play on Saturday for the second time since January 28.

Ehrhoff attempted to comeback on February 25 but that was short-lived as the Penguins shut him down again. Ehrhoff has only three goals and 13 points in 44 games this season so don't expect a lot fantasy-wise from the blueliner.
Mar 14 - 9:35 AM

Christian Ehrhoff (concussion) took part in contact drills during Friday's practice.

Ehrhoff said afterwards that he felt good. He's already been cleared to return and hopes to do so Saturday.
Mar 13 - 2:45 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (concussion) has received medical clearance to return to the Penguins' lineup.

Ehrhoff still won't play on Thursday though. The man is for him to participate in Friday's practice and then have him participate in Saturday's game. He has three goals and 13 points in 44 games in 2014-15.
Mar 12 - 12:07 PM

There has been no change in the status of Christian Ehrhoff who sustained a concussion on January 28.

Ehrhoff played on February 25 but he returned too soon and was shut down again. "It goes one or two days where it’s good, then there might be a small symptom and once there is you have to wait a couple more days," coach Mike Johnston said. Ehrhoff has been skating but doctors will need to give him clearance before he can play again.
Mar 8 - 10:18 AM

According to a report out of Pittsburgh, Christian Ehrhoff's concussion-like symptoms have returned.

"I had a little bump in the road," Ehrhoff said. "I felt great Wednesday coming back and the next day, too. But I had some symptoms again, and we're being cautious with that. I've been seeing the doctors." It was a relapse of the symptoms for Ehrhoff who was sidelined for 13 of the last 14 games for Pittsburgh. Ehrhoff was scheduled to travel with the team Tuesday for the game tonight against Colorado in Denver but that seems unlikely now. We will pass along more information when it comes but be prepared to have him out of the lineup for a little while longer at least.
Mar 4 - 2:08 AM

Christian Ehrhoff won't be in Pittsburgh's lineup for their game against Columbus on Sunday.

It's unclear why Ehrhoff isn't playing in this game. No injury had been reported. Beat reporter Josh Yohe also mentioned that Ehrhoff looked fine after yesterday's practice. We will give you an update as soon as the relevant information is provided.
Mar 1 - 5:09 PM

The Pittsburgh Penguins are still looking for a defense partner for Christian Ehrhoff.

The Pens have two units they can rely on in Kris Letang and Paul Martin, and Rob Scuderi and Simon Despres, but have yet to find the right partner for Ehrhoff. The upper management hopes that they can solve the problem internally with either rookie Derrick Pouliot or Robert Bortuzzo but they still have a couple of days to try to arrange a trade for a blueliner. Stay tuned.
Feb 28 - 9:14 AM

Christian Ehrhoff (concussion) will return to the Penguins lineup Wednesday night versus the Capitals.

Ehrhoff has been skating with the team since February 14th and has missed 12 straight games but is finally back in the Pens lineup Wednesday night. Sure enough he will return against the team that knocked him out for the last dozen games when he was hit by Alex Ovechkin and struck his head on the ice. He has had a disappointing first year in Pittsburgh posting three goals and 12 assists in 43 games played. Robert Bortuzzo will be a healthy scratch to make room for Ehrhoff.
