Christian Ehrhoff will miss at least three games after exiting Thursday's game with a lower body injury.

Ehrhoff has two goals and 10 points in 31 games this season, largely a disappointment to poolies everywhere. Though one might imagine not so much to the Penguins.

Christian Ehrhoff missed practice on Friday after leaving Thursday's game after the first period with an undisclosed injury.

Ehrhoff is still being evaluated and there is no word as to whether or not he will be able to play Saturday night against the Panthers. Ehrhoff has two goals and 10 points in 31 games this season. A lot of poolies expected more with his move from Buffalo to Pittsburgh but he does have a plus-15 rating this season to give him some fantasy value.
Dec 20 - 9:52 AM

Christian Ehrhoff exited Thursday's game against Colorado late in the first period.

It's unclear how Ehrhoff got hurt, but he's yet to return to the game. We'll have more details as soon as the Penguins shed more light on the situation.
Dec 18 - 9:01 PM

Christian Ehrhoff scored the game-winning goal as the Pittsburgh Penguins slipped past the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Saturday.

Ehrhoff had quite the game, generating seven SOG, two PIM and two hits to go with that game-winner. His production has been modest (nine points in 26 games), yet injuries could help him bump things up for a little bit.
Dec 6 - 4:12 PM

Christian Ehrhoff's goal on Saturday ended a 46-game drought.

Ehrhoff hasn't recorded less than five goals in a single season since 2007-08. He shrugged off his prolonged dry spell though. "I don't really judge my game by scoring goals, getting points or anything like that," he said. "It's a nice bonus, but it's not something that [affects] me either way." While it might not be his primary job, a part of his value is his ability to contribute offensively. He's gotten off to a slow start in that regard with eight points in 23 contests this season.
Dec 1 - 9:12 AM

Christian Ehrhoff potted a marker for the Penguins in their 3-2 win against the Hurricanes on Saturday night.

The Penguins nabbed Ehrhoff in the offseason after he was bought out by the Sabres and he was supposed to provide a boost of offense from the blue line. That has not exactly been the case so far, as his goal was just his first in 23 games. He has eight points on the year, though it does come with a plus-14 rating. Robert Bortuzzo and Chris Kunitz got the other goals. Blake Comeau had an assist and four penalty minutes.
Nov 29 - 10:10 PM

Christian Ehrhoff feels bad about the start of the season for his former Buffalo Sabre teammates.

Ehrhoff was bought out of his contract in the summer by the Sabres and signed on with Pittsburgh. "I feel for the guys. It’s tough to see," Ehrhoff said. "You don’t want to see a team struggle like that, but that’s just part of the game. There’s teams that are going to be at the bottom. It’s just, it’s tough to watch from the outside." The Sabres are 2-9-1 after a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the Penguins Saturday. Ehrhoff had an assist giving him four this season in 10 games with a plus-six rating.
Nov 2 - 7:42 AM

Christian Ehrhoff had an assist in the Penguins' 3-0 victory on Thursday.

Although Ehrhoff was expected to have a strong season offensively with Pittsburgh, he has just three points in nine games. There's a lot of time left, but we're concerned about the fact that he's averaging just 1:53 power-play minutes per game, which slots him in eighth place among the Penguins.
Oct 31 - 11:22 AM

Christian Ehrhoff and Kris Letang has meshed nicely during the preseason.

Ehrhoff also played alongside Paul Martin during training camp, but it looks like Letang will end up being his defensive partner. Ehrhoff is a good candidate to record more than 40 points as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Oct 3 - 11:32 AM

Christian Ehrhoff and Paul Martin have been skating alongside each other in training camp.

It's still early, but that pairing might persist into the regular season. Ehrhoff had 33 points with Buffalo in 2013-14 and he should breach the 40-point mark now that he's with the vastly offensively superior Penguins.
Sep 21 - 6:46 PM

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman Christian Ehrhoff to a one-year/$4 million contract.

Ehrhoff had been bought out by the Buffalo Sabres this past week with seven years left on his contract and will now be a puck moving defenseman on the Penguins. He had six goals and 33 points for the lowly Sabres last season. Look for Ehrhoff to see plenty of action on the power play next season.
Jul 1 - 12:08 PM

The Buffalo Sabres didn't wrestle with the decision to buy out Christian Ehrhoff.

"The fact that he quite frankly doesn't want to be here makes it easy," GM Tim Murray said. "I've said at the start that if you don't want to be here we'll make it happen. He's made I believe $22 million in three years and feels that we're not going in the right direction, but he really hasn't had much part in the direction the team has gone. So time to move on." Ehrhoff said through his agent that he was "surprised" by the buyout. He had seven years remaining on a 10-year, $40 million contract. He can sign anywhere this week as an unrestricted free agent.
Jun 29 - 8:38 PM

Christian Ehrhoff thinks he'll be back with the Sabres next season.

"I think if they want to move me, they can move me," he said. " ... We'll see. Obviously, it's not up to me and that remains to be seen." He was asked to submit a list of teams he'd accept a trade to prior to the deadline. Ehrhoff posted six goals and 33 points in 79 games. He also had a minus-27 rating and is signed through the 2020-21 season.
Apr 30 - 7:40 AM

Christian Ehrhoff left Saturday's game against Boston with a mild concussion.

He won't be able to play in Sunday's regular season finale as a result. He had a minus-3 rating in 15:13 of ice time prior to his exit. Ehrhoff will end the year with six goals, 33 points and a minus-27 rating.
