Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) will remain on the sidelines for Game 3 Monday night against the Rangers.
Ehrhoff missed the Pens last nine regular season games and was unable to play in the first two games of the Pens playoff series with the Rangers due to the injury. Head Coach Mike Johnston was quoted as saying, "he just hasn’t been progressing" so that can’t be a good sign. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Apr 20 - 5:07 PM

Apr 20 - 3:52 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) is questionable for Game 3 on Monday.

The defenseman is day-to-day and has not played since March 24. He continues to skate and the Penguins are hoping he gets healthy enough to return to action this week.
Apr 19 - 8:48 AM

The Pittsburgh Penguins will remain without Christian Ehrhoff as they try to tie their playoff series with the New York Rangers in Game 2.

Ehrhoff, 32, has been sidelined since March 24 with an upper-body injury. Really, his season hasn't really ever taken off with the Penguins thanks in large part to various ailments. Pittsburgh would gladly welcome him back if he can get into this series, though.
Apr 18 - 2:04 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) skated on Friday.

The Penguins had an optional skate on Friday and while there were six on the ice, there was no press conference after the game so the status of Ehrhoff, who has been sidelined since March 24, is still unknown. Stay tuned.
Apr 18 - 9:15 AM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) won't play in Game 1 against the New York Rangers.

He has been sidelined since Mar. 24 with an upper-body injury. It's unclear if he'll be ready to play in Game 2, but he is moving in the right direction.
Apr 16 - 3:26 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) is now able to participate in contact drills.

Ehrhoff is still day-to-day, but the chances of him returning in the not too distant future have ticked upwards. He had three goals and 14 points in 49 games in 2014-15. He hasn't played since March 24.
Apr 14 - 2:36 PM

Christian Ehrhoff has 'an outside chance' of playing in the playoffs according to coach Mike Johnston.

Ehrhoff was injured three weeks ago and has not played since suffering the upper body injury. The Penguins are hurting badly on the blueline and the emergence of Ehrhoff can only help the cause as they take on the Rangers in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Ehrhoff ended the season with only three goals and 14 points in an injury-plagued 49 games.

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) probably won't be available for Saturday's contest.

Coach Mike Johnston likes the way Christian Ehrhoff is progressing.

He hasn't been ruled out yet for Friday's gmae against the New York Islanders and Saturday's match versus Buffalo. "I won't have confirmation until we get back (Wednesday)," Johnston said. Ehrhoff is skating back in Pittsburgh.
Apr 7 - 5:58 PM

Do not expect to see Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) in the Pittsburgh lineup Tuesday.

Coach Mike Johnston said on Sunday "It doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen" when asked if Ehrhoff could go on Tuesday. Ehrhoff has not played since March 24 and the Penguins need him back in the lineup desperately as they are life and death at this time to make it to the post-season.
Apr 6 - 8:21 AM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) will miss at least two more games.

Ehrhoff hasn't played since March 24. At least Pittsburgh was able to call up defenseman Taylor Chorney on Friday though, so the Penguins will no longer be forced to dress just five blueliners. Cap issues had previously left them in that situation.
Apr 3 - 1:02 PM

Christian Ehrhoff (upper body) will not resume skating until next week.

Ehrhoff will obviously miss Saturday and Sunday's games, but if he's not even skating until next week then his availability for Wednesday's contest is presumably in question too. He has three goals and 14 points in 43 games in 2014-15.
Mar 27 - 5:30 PM

Mar 26 - 4:49 PM

Christian Ehrhoff was hurt again on Tuesday.

Ehrhoff was returning from an undisclosed injury, but his head collided with the boards as a result of a hit from St. Louis' Vladimir Tarasenko during the first period of Tuesday's game. Ehrhoff left the contest and didn't return. The Penguins defenseman recently dealt with a concussion unrelated from the undisclosed injury he was returning from.
