Newly-acquired Travis Moen will not be in the Dallas lineup Saturday afternoon against the Wild.
He needs some more practice time with his new team before suiting up. Moen was acquired by the Stars on Tuesday from the Canadiens for Sergei Gonchar. When Moen does play for Dallas he will be a solid third or fourth-line player with no real fantasy value. Nov 15 - 12:45 PM

Date:

Travis Moen is expected to be at practice in Dallas on Friday.

He was acquired from Montreal on Tuesday, but he's been unable to join his new teammates because of an immigration issue.
Nov 14 - 10:55 AM

The Dallas Stars have acquired Travis Moen from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Sergei Gonchar.

This is an interesting trade for Dallas given that its blueline was thin to begin with. The Stars have struggled early this season despite high expectations and while Moen is certainly isn't young at 32, this is a somewhat longer term move for Dallas given that Moen is signed through 2015-16. Moen is a bottom-six forward who can help the Stars kill penalties.
Nov 11 - 1:27 PM

Travis Moen will draw back into the Habs' lineup to replace the injured Michael Bournival.

He will play on the Canadiens' fourth line alongside Manny Maholtra and either Dale Weisse or Rene Bourque. As we are sure you are aware, Moen is not worth a fantasy roster spot.
Nov 8 - 10:47 AM

Travis Moen skated on Montreal's fifth line, with Michael Bournival and Christian Thomas, during practice on Tuesday.

He suited up in 65 games with the Canadiens last season, but it looks like he'll be an extra forward when the 2014-15 campaign begins. Moen doesn't have any fantasy value.
Oct 1 - 11:28 AM

With Brandon Prust's suspension, Travis Moen may draw back into the Canadiens' lineup for Game 4 against the Rangers.

Moen brings a Prust-type grittiness to his game and Habs' coach Michel Therrien might prefer to keep that balance in his lineup rather than dress a Michael Bournival, who is more of a speed guy.
May 24 - 10:16 AM

Travis Moen was back in Montreal's lineup Tuesday night.

He made his return to the fold from a concussion last Thursday in Game 1 of the second round against Boston. Moen was a healthy scratch in Game 2, but he replaced Brandon Prust for the third match of the series.
May 7 - 7:17 AM

Travis Moen skated on the fourth line, with Daniel Briere and Dale Weise, at practice on Sunday and appears to be set to return from a concussion.

He was injured in a fight with Boston defenseman Kevan Miller on March 24 and hasn't played since. "I hope I'm in there," said Moen. "I'm playing with two pretty speedy guys and I'll try to dig the puck out for them. And Danny's pretty crafty, so Dale and I will go to the net so he can get the puck to us."
Apr 28 - 10:32 AM

Travis Moen (concussion) was cleared for contact on Monday.

He practiced fully with his teammates for the first time, but he needs a few more sessions before he's ready to return to the lineup. Moen suffered a concussion in a fight with Boston's Kevan Miller back on March 24 and he hasn't played since.
Apr 22 - 7:58 AM

Travis Moen practised with his Canadien teammates for the second day in a row Thursday but won't play Friday against Tampa in Game 2.

He is still working his way back from a concussion and needs a little more time on ice before he is cleared to play.
Apr 18 - 10:43 AM

Travis Moen (concussion) skated with the Canadiens on Tuesday.

Moen was wearing a no-contact jersey though, so we would be surprised if he played in Game 1 on Wednesday. He had 12 points and 49 penalty minutes in 65 games this season.
Apr 15 - 2:04 PM

Travis Moen (concussion) is expected to miss Montreal's next two games.

Moen won't travel with the Canadiens to Detroit for Thursday's contest and presumably won't rejoin the team before Saturday's game in Florida. He suffered the concussion on Monday.
Mar 26 - 1:49 PM

Travis Moen sustained a concussion in Monday's game versus Boston.

He was injured in a fight with Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller. Moen will miss at least a week due to concussion protocols, but it's unclear when he'll be ready to return to the lineup.
Mar 26 - 7:42 AM

Travis Moen didn't play after his first-period fight with Kevan Miller.

He fought after Miller sent Dale Weise into the boards with a cross check and he got the worst of the altercation. Moen looked woozy when he was escorted off the ice with the help of his teammates.
Mar 25 - 7:23 AM

Travis Moen (lower body) looks like he'll play Wednesday night.

Look for him to skate on Montreal's fourth line, with Ryan White and Dale Weise, when the Canadiens host Detroit.
