Travis Moen's undisclosed ailment is a hand injury.

Coach Lindy Ruff said that Moen won't play for the rest of the playoffs. "That cast is on I believe for at least three weeks," said Ruff. "I didn't even ask how it happened. It happened early in the game. He played the whole game with it."

Stars GM Jim Nill said the veteran winger was hurt, but wouldn't say what the ailment is. Moen has made six appearances in the playoffs for Dallas. Colton Sceviour is expected to play on Monday instead.

Travis Moen's size and experience could keep him in the lineup for Game 1 of Round 2 against St. Louis.

"He's a good, heavy body, big body," coach Lindy Ruff said. "I thought he played really good in the nine or 10 minutes he played in Minnesota. He's proved effective when we've gone against the bigger, heavier teams." The Blues are certainly that. Moen made his 2016 playoff debut against the Wild in Game 6. Valeri Nichushkin remains an option for the Stars as well, which could lead to scratches another for someone like Mattias Janmark or Colton Sceviour.

His return bumped Valeri Nichushkin from the lineup. Moen skated on the fourth line and he posted two shots in 9:24 of ice time.

The 33-year-old veteran Moen saw just 23 games worth of action this season, partially due to injury, but mostly due to lack of production. He posted just two points, 21 PIMs and 30 hits this season.
