C | 1 | Alexander Wennberg SidelinedAlex Wennberg (upper body) won't be able to suit up for Game 2 against the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Wennberg was shaken up on a blindside hit from Washington's Tom Wilson in the third period of Game 1. Head coach John Tortorella has announced that Wennberg will be considered day-to-day for now. Sonny Milano will come into the lineup in his place and Brandon Dubinsky will move to center. Apr 14 |
Nick Foligno ActiveNick Foligno will play between Thomas Vanek and Boone Jenner in Game 2 Sunday. Foligno will take over from the injured Alex Wennberg who suffered a head injury in the third period of Game 1. The Wennberg line had been going gangbusters for the Blue Jackets since the trio were put together in the last quarter of the season but Foligno will try to keep things going as the Blue Jackets are up 1-0 in the series. He is worth looking at in playoff pools at this time. Apr 15
Brandon Dubinsky ActiveBrandon Dubinsky scored a shorthanded goal in a 4-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. Dubinsky out hustled P.K. Subban for the puck and beat Juuse Saros for sixth goal of the year, and first shorthanded. It's the first point he has recorded in 24 games and he will finish the regular season with 16 points in 62 contests. Dubinsky has another three years on his contract at a $5.85 million cap hit. Apr 7
Mark Letestu ActiveMark Letestu found the back of the net in his return to the Blue Jackets. Letestu had played in 233 games with Columbus prior to Monday's action, but he left the team in 2015. On Sunday, the Blue Jackets reacquired him from Edmonton as part of a three-team deal. Letestu logged 13:13 minutes in the contest. Feb 27
Lukas Sedlak SidelinedLukas Sedlak (head) was struck by a Seth Jones' slap shot that led to his helmet being cracked during Thursday's game. Sedlak had been knocked to the ice by a crosscheck prior to being hit by the puck. The puck itself hit him in the back of the net, but the helmet cracking cut him behind his left ear. He wouldn't say if he has a concussion or not, but he did admit to feeling woozy. As previously reported, he's out indefinitely. Mar 23
Alex Broadhurst ActiveAlex Broadhurst will play tonight against the Nashville Predators. It will be Broadhurst's second career NHL game after failing to register a point in his NHL debut in early March. The Blue Jackets are resting their stars in their last regular-season contest. Apr 7
LW | 1 | Artemi Panarin ActiveArtemi Panarin scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 double-overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. Panarin registered the primary assist on Pierre-Luc Dubois' second-period goal. He also added the game-tying goal early in the third frame. Unfortunately for the Jackets, Caps center Lars Eller scored a fluky goal in the second overtime period. Panarin finished the night with a plus-1 rating, three shots on goal and one hit in 31:39 of ice time. The 26-year-old now has two goals and five assists in three games this postseason. Despite tonight's loss, the Blue Jackets still have a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 will be played in Columbus on Thursday night. Apr 17 |
Pierre-Luc Dubois ActivePierre-Luc Dubois found the back of the net during Tuesday's 3-2 double-overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. Dubois beat Braden Holtby with a shot that the Capitals netminder should've stopped. That was the 19-year-old's first career goal in the playoffs. The Blue Jackets never had the lead in this game, and they eventually lost on a fluky goal by Lars Eller. Dubois finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two shots on goal and six hits in 31:09 of ice time. He now has one goal and two assists in three games this postseason. Artemi Panarin also scored for the Jackets in the loss. Columbus still has a 2-1 advantage in this best-of-seven series. Game 4 will be played on Thursday night. Apr 17
Boone Jenner ActiveBoone Jenner picked up a goal with two assists and a plus-3 rating and three hits in Tuesday's 7-3 victory in Edmonton. Jenner had a great game, as he was also an impressive 5-of-7 inside the faceoff circle, too. He has easily having his most productive month of the season, potting six goals with 12 points and a plus-13 rating in 14 contests in March. He has been even or in the positive in plus/minus rating in 12 consecutive appearances. Mar 28
Matt Calvert ActiveMatt Calvert scored a one-handed goal during the first overtime period on Sunday evening to give the Jackets a 5-4 win over Washington in Game 2. Columbus heads back home with a 2-0 series lead. Calvert tipped in a goal from the edge of the crease 12:22 into overtime to seal the victory in Washington. It was his seventh career playoff point. Apr 15
Markus Hannikainen ActiveMarkus Hannikainen will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against the Detroit Red Wings. Hannikainen has suited up in each of Columbus' last three games, but he'll sit tonight. The 25-year-old has three goals and five assists in 32 games this season. Scott Harrington, Taylor Chorney, Dean Kukan and Eric Robinson will also watch the game from the press box. Lukas Sedlak, Markus Nutivaara, Nick Foligno and Josh Anderson will all miss the game due to injury. Apr 3
RW | 1 | Cam Atkinson ActiveCam Atkinson scored a pair of Game 2 goals to help Columbus beat Washington 5-4 in overtime on Sunday night. The 28-year-old was a force all game long, and now has two goals and three points in the first two games of the series. He has nine points in 13 career playoff games. Apr 15 |
Josh Anderson ActiveJosh Anderson will not face any additional discipline from the NHL for his hit from behind to Capitals' defenseman Michal Kempny. Anderson received a five-minute boarding penalty and a game misconduct for the hit that did not seem to be of the kind that would warrant a game misconduct. Anderson will be able to suit up for Game 2 Saturday night. Apr 14
Thomas Vanek ActiveThomas Vanek scored a goal and picked up an assist in a 4-3 overtime win in Game 1 over the Washington Capitals. Vanek was parked in front of the net when he redirected Pierre-Luc Dubois' pass 1:31 into the final period to tie up the game. The Capitals were then able to pull ahead again before Seth Jones forced overtime with under five minutes left in regulation. Vanek was acquired at the trade deadline for Jussi Jokinen and Tyler Motte and has proven to be a steal for the Blue Jackets. Apr 12
Oliver Bjorkstrand ActiveOliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and an assist Saturday. Bjorkstrand had only one assist in his previous 13 games so perhaps this was a confidence builder for the 22-year-old. He has nine goals and 29 points in 55 games and has some fantasy value in deeper leagues. Feb 11
Sonny Milano ActiveSonny Milano will suit up for Game 2 on Sunday against the Washington Capitals. He'll be taking Alexander Wennberg's spot who is day-to-day due to an upper-body injury. Tomorrow's game will be Milano's second career post-season game after suiting up in a game last season against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brandon Dubinsky will move to center in Wennberg's usual spot. Apr 14
D | 1 | Zach Werenski ActiveZach Werenski had a goal and two assists in Columbus' 5-4 overtime win Sunday. The talented rearguard set up Matt Calvert for the winner as the Blue Jackets lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 with the series headed back to the Ohio capital. Werenski suffered through a major slump this season as he went 25 games without finding the back of the net but he has come out of it and has been a stud in the post-season. He should be drafted as a second defenseman next season in most pools. Apr 16 |
Seth Jones ActiveIt's looking like Seth Jones and Zach Werenski won't play tonight in the season finale. Head coach John Tortorella confirmed several players would sit out of tonight's game and Aaron Portzline of The Athletic is reporting the Blue Jackets' top duo will be two of them. In their place, the Blue Jackets will have Taylor Chorney and Dean Kukan enter the lineup. Apr 7
Jack Johnson ActiveJack Johnson will be a healthy scratch in Game 3 against Washington on Tuesday night. The 31-year-old had three goals and eight assists in 77 games this season. He was also scratched in the first two games of the series. Scott Harrington, Taylor Chorney, Markus Hannikainen, Alex Broadhurst and Jeff Zatkoff will also watch the game from the press box. Apr 17
David Savard ActiveDavid Savard (illness) will be good to go Tuesday night. Savard was back on the ice for the team's optional morning skate after he was absent from Monday's session because he was feeling under the weather. He has posted 15 points in 75 games this season. Mar 27
Ryan Murray ActiveRyan Murray will be a healthy scratch tonight against the Nashville Predators. Murray will be joining Zach Werenski, Seth Jones, Artemi Panarin, Alex Wennberg and Cam Atkinson as healthy scratches. Columbus has decided they are better off resting their top players heading into the post-season. Apr 7
Ian Cole ActiveIan Cole has been fined $5,000 for a dangerous trip on Vancouver's Brandon Sutter. The fine is the maximum allowable under the terms of the CBA. The incident occurred in Saturday's match and it put Cole in the penalty box for two minutes. Apr 1
Taylor Chorney ActiveTaylor Chorney will draw into the lineup tonight against the Nashville Predators. It'll be his first action since February 15th. The Blue Jackets are resting Zach Werenski, Seth Jones and Ryan Murray at the back and will give some players an opportunity to play in the regular season finale. Apr 7
Scott Harrington ActiveScott Harrington will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Harrington has two goals and two assists in 31 games this season. He's been a healthy scratch in every game since Feb. 26. Markus Hannikainen, Taylor Chorney, Dean Kukan, Eric Robinson and Alex Broadhurst will also watch the game from the press box. Apr 5
Dean Kukan ActiveDean Kukan will suit up tonight against the Nashville Predators. The Blue Jackets are making some changes to rest up their stud players and are giving some lesser players an opportunity to impress in the regular season finale. Apr 7
Markus Nutivaara ActiveMarkus Nutivaara (upper body) will be good to go for Game 1 against Washington. Nutivaara could have played Saturday, but he was held out because the Blue Jackets had already secured a playoff spot. Apr 9
G | 1 | Sergei Bobrovsky ActiveSergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 45 shots during Tuesday's 3-2 double-overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. The Blue Jackets managed to overcome 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to force overtime. Bobrovsky will likely want to have the game-winner back, as he didn't do a good job of controlling the initial rebound on Brett Connolly's shot that eventually ended up hitting Lars Eller and bouncing into the net. The 29-year-old now has a 2-1 record with a 2.64 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage this postseason. Despite the loss, the Blue Jackets still own a 2-1 lead in this best-of-seven series. Game 4 will be played in Columbus on Thursday night. Apr 17 |
Joonas Korpisalo ActiveJoonas Korpisalo allowed three goals on 26 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. With the Blue Jackets resting all of their star players, Korpisalo really had no chance to come away from Saturday's game with the victory against a fully loaded Predators team. The 23-year-old goaltender will finish the regular-season with a 8-8-1 record, a 3.32 goals-against-average and a .897 save percentage. Apr 7
Jeff Zatkoff ActiveColunbus has summoned Jeff Zatkoff from the minors. Zatkoff will be the team's third goaltender behind Sergei Bobrovsky and Joonas Korpisalo. He has posted a 4-9-2 record with a 3.22 goals-against average, an .885 save percentage and two shutouts in 17 contests with Cleveland of the AHL this year. Apr 15
