Roy was recalled as Victor Hedman is questionable for tonight's game. Roy had two goals and 11 points for Norfolk in 13 games and was scoreless in his only appearance with Tampa Bay this season. We cannot recommend him at this time.

Mathieu Roy has been sent to Syracuse of the AHL.

The Blue Jackets currently have six healthy blueliners and since Roy had not played ten games this season, he could be sent down without the need for waivers. He had four assists in seven games, but no penalty minutes, a bit surprising since he had 120 PIMs in 59 AHL games last season.

Mathieu Roy will likely replace the injured Jan Hejda (knee) in the Columbus lineup on Saturday.

With Hejda out for the next four-six weeks, Roy should get plenty of ice time for the Blue Jackets. He had 120 penalty minutes in 59 AHL games last season, so if you are looking for some cheap minutes in the short-term, Roy could be your man.
