Milan Michalek (upper body) could come off injured reserve before Monday’s game.

Michalek has been out since Dec. 6 and has been practicing with the team lately. The Senators could take him off IR and place Zack Smith on it, if Smith's upper-body injury is serious enough.
Dec 13 - 9:11 PM

Milan Michalek (upper body) isn't expected to play Thursday.

He has been placed on injured reserve by the Senators, according to the club's website. Michalek has been out of action since Dec. 6 with an upper-body injury.
Dec 10 - 6:18 PM

Milan Michalek (upper body) will not be in Ottawa's lineup when they take on Vancouver on Sunday.

The 30-year-old has just two goals and eight points in 25 games this season. He should be considered day-to-day right now. He will be replaced by Mark Stone.
Dec 7 - 12:34 PM

Milan Michalek will get back into the lineup on Friday after he was a healthy scratch Tuesday.

Colin Greening will return to the press box instead. Michalek has a mere two goals and five assists in 20 games this campaign.
Nov 27 - 2:58 PM

Milan Michalek has produced two goals in 19 matches.

On the bright side, he has been playing well defensively and has done a good job on the penalty kill for the Senators. Michalek has been better lately, with one goal and two assists in his past four games.
Nov 24 - 11:25 AM

Milan Michalek scored the Senators’ only goal in their 2-1 loss to Chicago.

Michalek scored shorthanded as referee Steve Kozari interfered with Hawks’ forward Brad Richards who was backchecking on the play. He has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two outings. After an emotional week with the attacks on Parliament Hill, the Senators lost both their games this weekend.
Oct 26 - 9:52 PM

Milan Michalek was back on the ice Monday after he sat out three sessions last week with a hip flexor injury.

He still has high expectations of himself and he believes he can be a 30-goal scorer this season if he can stay healthy. Michalek skated in all 82 games last year, but he managed to generate just 17 goals and 39 points. He spent most of his playing time at five-on-five alongside Jason Spezza, who was traded to Dallas in the summer, last season. It's hard to envision him having much success this campaign unless he really clicks with David Legwand or gets promoted to the top line with Kyle Turris.
Sep 30 - 10:58 AM

Milan Michalek's goal in the fourth round of the shootout was the difference in the Ottawa Senators' 4-3 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.

The Sens and Leafs split their squads for a pair of exhibition games Wednesday night. The Sens won the other game 3-2. In this one, the Sens were trailing 3-1 before Alex Chiasson (shorthanded) and Ryan Dzingel scored in the third period. Shane Prince also netted a goal for Ottawa. Goalie Robin Lehner stopped 24 of 27 shots. Nazem Kadri, Jake Gardiner and James van Riemsdyk scored for Toronto. James Reimer started and stopped all 18 shots he faced before Christopher Gibson allowed three goals on 17 shots.
Sep 24 - 11:04 PM

Milan Michalek has re-signed with the Senators for three-years and $12 million.

After a disappointing season where he registered a mere 39 points in 82 games, Michalek might be poised for a bit of a bounce-back campaign. That said, he will no longer have Jason Spezza to play alongside of and that may temper the extent of his comeback.
Jul 1 - 12:27 PM

Ottawa GM Bryan Murray is optimistic that Milan Michalek will re-sign with the Senators.

He said "there's a good chance" that Michalek will be back next season. He just completed a six-year, $26 million contract, but it's expected that he won't make close to the $6-million figure he received in 2013-14. He is currently considering an offer from Ottawa.
Jun 19 - 6:11 PM

Milan Michalek has received a contract offer from Ottawa.

The team is reportedly waiting to hear back from him. Michalek will likely test the waters as an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if he turns down the deal. He produced 17 goals and 39 points in 82 games last year.
Jun 19 - 11:51 AM

Milan Michalek has enjoyed a late-season surge to end what has been a disappointing year.

He has tallied seven goals and 14 points in his past 19 games. Michalek has been clicking with Jason Spezza and Ales Hemsky. He has 17 goals, 39 points and a minus-23 rating in 79 matches this year. He is eligible for unrestricted free agency in the summer.
Apr 10 - 10:43 AM

Milan Michalek was the only Ottawa goal scorer Wednesday as the team dropped a 2-1 decision to the New York Islanders.

Michalek has now scored four times in his last four games to give him 17 on the year, but it's likely a case of "too little, too late" for his fantasy owners, who probably decided to move on earlier in the season. Chris Neil and Patrick Wiercioch drew assists on the goal.
Apr 2 - 10:14 PM

Milan Michalek recorded a pair of goals in Sunday's 6-3 victory over Calgary.

The Senators have one game left to play this month, but it's been a successful March for Michalek. He has six goals and six assists in his last 14 contests. Michalek has produced just 16 goals and 37 points in 74 games this season.
