Milan Michalek contributed two assists in Thursday's 6-5 overtime win versus Anaheim.

He had the primary helper on power-play goals by Nazem Kadri and Connor Brown in the contest. Michalek has one goal and five points in nine games with Toronto since he was acquired from Ottawa in the Dion Phaneuf trade.

He has been activated from injured reserve. It will be his first game since Jan. 22 because of a fractured finger and his first game with the Maple Leafs since he was acquired from Ottawa in the Dion Phaneuf trade. Michalek has six goals and 10 points in 32 games this year.

He declared himself ready to go over the weekend and he is skating with Brad Boyes and Peter Holland during the morning skate. We should get confirmation from coach Mike Babcock after the session, but for now Michalek is still listed on injured reserve.

Milan Michalek could play his first game for Toronto some time over the next week.

He is recovering from a finger injury that has kept him sidelined since January 22nd. Michalek was acquired from Ottawa in the Dion Phaneuf trade on February 9th and will likely play in a top six role once he is healthy.

The Maple Leafs are terming Milan Michalek (finger) as week-to-week.

Michalek was one of the players acquired by Toronto in the Dion Phaneuf trade, but he hasn't played since Jan. 22. Although obviously a team would typically want to utilize a newly acquired player, the reality is that the Maple Leafs won't make the playoffs and have more to gain by losing at this point than winning. Consequently, Toronto has no reason to try to rush Michalek back before he's 100%.

Milan Michalek has been acquired by Toronto in a nine-player deal that sent Dion Phaneuf to Ottawa.

He has been limited to 32 games this season because of injuries and he is currently on the sidelines with a broken finger. Michalek has six goals and 10 points this season. He has one more year on his contract after the 2015-16 campaign.
