Dion Phaneuf collected an assist in a 2-1 double overtime loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Phaneuf's hook on Tomas Nosek's partial break saved a goal but sent him to the box for a couple of minutes and put the Kings on the ropes. His teammates were able to kill his penalty but they looked out of gas during the final extra period and were outplayed all night from the start of the game. Phaneuf was acquired from the Senators at the trade deadline and he has collected 11 points in 28 games in a Kings jersey so far this season. The 33 year-old blueliner finished the game with an assist, four penalty minutes, five hits, six blocks and 33:44 of ice-time. Apr 14 - 2:39 AM

Date:

Dion Phaneuf posted a power-play goal with an assist and a hit across 19:39 of ice time in Monday's 3-0 win against the Flames.

It was his first multi-point game since coming over from the Ottawa Senators at the NHL trade deadline. He entered Monday's game with no goals and just two assists in 12 games in the month of March so his nervous fantasy owners can finally breathe a sigh of relief. He'll look to keep it going Thursday against the Coyotes.

Dion Phaneuf (illness) will play in Thursday's game against the Washington Capitals.

The Kings blue liner has six goals and 22 points in 63 games this season. Six of those points have come in the 10 games since he joined the Kings.

Dion Phaneuf (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game.

Kings coach John Stevens wouldn't commit to Phaneuf being available, instead saying that he hopes the blueliner will be. He has six goals and 22 points in 63 contests this season, but he's been particularly effective since joining Los Angeles with six points in 10 games.
Mar 8 - 4:48 PM

Dion Phaneuf didn't take part in Wednesday's practice due to an illness.

It remains to be seen if this will prevent Phaneuf from playing on Thursday. He has three goals and six points in 10 contests since joining the Kings.
Mar 8 - 7:28 AM

Dion Phaneuf registered an assist in the Kings' 4-1 win against Vegas on Tuesday.

Phaneuf has been pretty good offensively since being acquired by Los Angeles. He's up to three goals and five points in eight contests with the Kings. Contrast that with his three goals and 16 points in 53 games with Ottawa before being dealt.
Feb 28 - 9:59 AM

Dion Phaneuf scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Phaneuf's power play marker at the 17:05 mark of the second period gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at the time. He's been a terrific addition since being acquired from the Ottawa Senators last week. Phaneuf has scored three goals in four games since joining Los Angeles. There's no way he'll be able to keep this up, so his fantasy owners should enjoy it while it lasts. The 32-year-old has six goals and 19 points in 57 games this season. Alec Martinez, Torrey Mitchell and Dustin Brown also scored for Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
Feb 21 - 12:12 AM

Dion Phaneuf scored a goal and he delivered four hits with two blocked shots in Monday's 3-1 victory at Chicago.

The veteran looks rejuvenated since joining the Kings, scoring two goals in three goals after managing a total of three goals with 16 points and a minus-8 rating in 53 games with the Senators earlier this season. It's been a while since Phaneuf was a double-digit per season goal threat. In fact, he hasn't had more than nine goals since he lit the lamp 12 times with the Maple Leafs during the 2011-12 season. Temper fantasy expectations for the remainder of the season despite his first-week hot run in Hollywood.
Feb 19 - 11:59 PM

Dion Phaneuf almost wasn't eligible to play in Thursday's game.

Phaneuf was acquired by Los Angeles Tuesday night, but had to wait for his immigration paperwork to go through before he was eligible to play for the Kings. As noted Thursday afternoon, it was looking like he might not be able to play Thursday night for that reason and indeed Phaneuf was anticipating that outcome. "The odds were that the immigration stuff wasn’t going to go through, was what I was told," Phaneuf said. "I’m very fortunate that they were able to get the paperwork done and when I found out, I was pretty excited about the opportunity to play my first game for this organization." Phaneuf made an impression in his Kings debut with a power-play goal. Unfortunately, that was all the offense the Kings were able to muster as they lost to Pittsburgh 3-1.
Feb 16 - 10:24 AM

Dion Phaneuf scored a goal in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Phaneuf found the back of the net in his Kings debut, but it's the only offense they were able to muster on Thursday night. He finished the night with a minus-1 rating, three shots on goal, three hits and three blocked shots in 18:56 of ice time. Phaneuf now has four goals, 17 points and a minus-9 rating in 54 games this season.

Dion Phaneuf might have to wait to make his Kings debut.

While it initially looked like he would debut on Thursday after being acquired from Ottawa on Tuesday, immigration issues might prevent that. If he does play, Phaneuf will likely be paired with Alec Martinez.
Feb 15 - 12:46 PM

Dion Phaneuf took part in his first practice with the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.

Phaneuf was paired with Alec Martinez on the second unit, so it wouldn't be surprising if that's his role when he makes his Kings debut on Thursday. He was acquired by Los Angeles Tuesday night in a trade that also sent Marian Gaborik to Ottawa.
Feb 15 - 4:50 AM

In a funny coincidence, Dion Phaneuf isn't going to have to travel anywhere to meet up with his new team, the Los Angeles Kings.

Phaneuf was playing for Ottawa in Pittsburgh Tuesday night when the Senators pulled him from the game and informed him that he had been traded to the Los Angeles Kings. However, the Kings will be playing in Pittsburgh on Thursday, so Phaneuf will simply remain in the city and wait for his new teammates to join him. "It’s a different situation. I’m not flying anywhere to meet them so my gear’s staying here and I am too," Phaneuf said. He's excited to be part of the Kings and it should be interesting to see how he fits in. While he's not the offensive force he once was, he's capable of logging top-four minutes and he plays with a physical edge that the Kings should enjoy.
Feb 14 - 5:26 AM

The Ottawa Senators have dealt Dion Phaneuf and Nate Thompson to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore.

The Senators will also retain 25 percent of Phaneuf's salary. Phaneuf was pulled from the Senators-Penguins game tonight in order to facilitate a trade to Los Angeles. The veteran defenseman has 16 points in 52 games this season.
