Unfortunately the Kings would go on to lose the game 6-3, ending their season. Carter finishes with just his two goals and points in the five games.

Jeff Carter collected a trio of assists during Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Rangers.

It was his second helper that was special, though. Carter found himself beside the Rangers' net with the puck in his feet and facing the glass. So he thought it logical to send the puck back behind his back to a yawning Kyle Clifford, who promptly made it 3-2 en route to the big comeback win. Carter's now up to 33 assists and 51 points this season.

Jeff Carter had an assist in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders Thursday night.

Carter has 14 goals and 38 points in 48 contests in 2015-16. We're used to seeing him get more goals than this, but he can be a pretty streaky player in that regard and it would only take one good hot streak to put him on pace to reach the 25-marker milestone.
