Carter's spot on the second line was taken by Mike Richards as he centered Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson while the third unit consisted of Justin Williams with Jarret Stoll and Dustin Brown. Kyle Clifford, Trevor Lewis and Jordan Nolan made up the fourth line. These could be the lines coach Darryl Sutter goes with to start the game Saturday against Anaheim.

Jeff Carter didn't have his best game, but he did manage to put the only puck behind a goalie Thursday night.

Carter took LA's first shootout attempt and ripped a snapper past Blues' goalie Brian Elliott's blocker before he even got set. This was about as much as Carter contributed to the Kings' win, but hey, it was also the most important element.
