Brent Seabrook had his ice time reduced Wednesday night and responded with a solid performance against the Rangers.
Seabrook posted four shots, two blocks, an assist, and a plus-2 rating in 16:26 of ice time. That is more than a five-minute drop from his season average. "I want to play as much as I can [but] I want to help the team out any way I can," Seabrook said. "Whatever the case may be, I thought I had a better game [Wednesday] night I had more jump, more pace to my game." Nov 17 - 10:53 AM

Brent Seabrook ended a seven-game point drought on Saturday.

Seabrook registered an assist in Chicago's 4-3 overtime win against Carolina. He has a goal and six points in 17 games, which is a pretty disappointing start by his standards. We expect Seabrook to bounce back though and surpass the 30-point milestone so long as he can stay healthy.
Nov 12 - 6:28 AM

Brent Seabrook was scoreless with a blocked shot, a minor penalty and four hits in Tuesday's 4-2 loss at Vegas.

Even when Seabrook is held off the scoresheet he contributes positively for fantasy owners, at least in pools with advanced scoring systems. He has logged 21 blocked shots and 11 hits through 10 games this season.
Oct 25 - 1:53 AM

Brent Seabrook posted three points in Thursday's 10-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Seabrook earned one goal, two assists, two shots, two blocks and a plus-3 rating in an impressive season debut. The Blackhawks need him to step this season on a new-look defense corps and he is off to a strong start.
Oct 6 - 10:11 AM

The Chicago Blackhawks have not talked to any teams about Brent Seabrook, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

LeBrun added that the Blackhawks value Seabrook's leadership too much to consider trading him. Seabrook's name surfaced as a possible trade candidate over the weekend, but it doesn't sound like he is going anywhere. He is signed for seven more years.
Jun 13 - 9:16 AM

According to Scott Powers of The Athletic Chicago, Brent Seabrook has not been asked to waive his no-movement clause.

News broke earlier that the Blackhawks were shopping one of their core players, and many speculated that Brent Seabrook would be the odd man out of Chicago. Powers couldn't confirm the rumors but his sources stated to him that Seabrook and Anisimov haven't been asked to waive their respective no-movement clauses. Seabrook carries a $6.875 million cap hit until 2023-24.
Jun 10 - 1:32 PM

Brent Seabrook has declined an invite to play for Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships.

Seabrook has represented Canada at the Olympics, but with his wife scheduled to give birth in a few weeks, it's only normal that he won't be heading to Paris and Cologne for the tournament. He had three goals and 36 assists in 79 games this season.
Apr 22 - 1:41 PM

Brent Seabrook returns to action Saturday against the Kings.

Through 78 games this season the defender has posted three goals and 39 points along with 111 hits and 140 blocks.
Apr 8 - 4:12 PM

Brent Seabrook will spend Thursday's game in the press box.

It's believed that Seabrook is just getting a breather before the playoffs. He'll probably be reinserted into the lineup for Saturday's contest.
Apr 6 - 4:30 PM

Brent Seabrook hasn't scored a goal since Jan. 17.

That amounts to a 32-game goalless drought. Seabrook tried hard to end that slump Sunday when took 11 shots, with five hitting the net, in a 3-2 loss to Boston. Seabrook managed to record two assists in the contests, though. He has 39 points in 77 games despite the lack of goals.
Apr 3 - 11:26 AM

Thanks to the pair of helpers he picked up in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins, Brent Seabrook is nearing a new career-high in assists.

Seabrook's up to 36 helpers and 39 points this season. With a few games still to go, he'll set the new assist mark if he's able to reach 40 this season.
Apr 2 - 3:26 PM

Brent Seabrook hasn't scored a goal in his last 23 contests.

He has scored just three goals in 68 games this season after he produced a career-high 14 markers in 2015-16. Seabrook has posted a 2.7 shooting percentage this year, which is well below his career average of 5.4.
Mar 18 - 10:10 AM

With the acquisition of Johnny Oduya, the Blackhawks were able to reunite Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith.

Seabrook and Keith were defense partners for years but were split in 2015 so Niklas Hjalmarsson could pair with Keith as a shutdown-offensive duo. With the acquisiton of Oduya, Hjalmarsson has a new shutdown partner and Seabrook and Keith can play a little more offensively. This will benefit both of the Hawks' star defensemen over the last 17 games.
Mar 5 - 11:18 AM

The Blackhawks have an incredible record when Brent Seabrook blocks a lot of shots in a game.

In fact, when Seabrook blocks three or more shots in a contest the Blackhawks are 14-0-0. That's a crazy stat but we thought you might want to know. Seabrook has 87 hits and 92 blocks along with 28 points in 55 games this year.
Feb 12 - 12:29 PM

Brent Seabrook has only found the back of the net three times this season.

Seabrook scored a career-high 14 goals in 2015-16. He did that though by having a career-high 8.4 shooting percentage and right now he's only enjoying a 4.1% success rate. His 2016-17 shooting percentage is a bit below his norm, but not so much that he's a great bet to see a boost after the All-Star Game. Either way he does have 24 points, so there's a chance he'll end up reaching the 40-point mark again.
