Steve Bernier will again play for the Islanders, in place of Ryan Strome.

There’s something about these grinding, gritty-type players that coaches love. Bernier only played in 24 games in the regular season, with a goal and six points. He had two shots on goal in 20:21 of the double-overtime Game 5 win.

Steve Bernier will tag in for Ryan Strome in Friday's Game 5 against Florida.

This will be Bernier's postseason debut in 2016. In 67 career playoff games, the veteran grinder has nine goals and 23 points with 44 PIMs and 110 hits. Fans may recall he was part of New Jersey's instrumental third line in 2012 en route to a six-game Stanley Cup loss to Los Angeles.

Steve Bernier will returns to New York's lineup Sunday against the Flyers.

Bernier has posted just six points in 23 games with 40 hits to his credit, so we'd probably leave him on the wire.

Steve Bernier will return to the Islanders' lineup Tuesday night against the Penguins.

With just four points, seven PIMs, and 28 hits in 14 games this season, we wouldn't count on the veteran forward for very much.

Steve Bernier and Eric Boulton will be scratches once again on Wednesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The scratch will be the sixth straight for Bernier and the fifth straight for Boulton. This B&B pair will have to wait to be reinserted into the lineup.

Coach Jack Capuano will forego any lineup changes for Tuesday's match with Pittsburgh.

Which ultimately means that Steve Bernier, Eric Boulton, and Jean-Francois Berube will each be scratched. It's worth noting however that Boulton could be a nice source of PIMs if you're in a pinch. Too bad the Isles aren't playing Vancouver.

Steve Bernier and Eric Boulton will be scratched against the Rangers on Sunday.

Boulton might've been worth a late pick up as a plug if he was in, but the Islanders also have the likes of Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck to rough it up with Chris Kredier and Dylan McIlrath. Which unfortunately indicates that neither Bernier nor Boulton have any fantasy value.

Steve Bernier will play on the fourth line in Tuesday's match with Minnesota.

With three points and 27 hits in 16 games thus far, Bernier doesn't boast much value. But playing to the right of Matt Martin and Casey Cizikas could boost his tough guy stats nicely if you need a plug.
