While his two goals rank as a letdown for some, Ryan Getzlaf keeps generating assists, and Saturday was no different.
Getzlaf's two assists helped the Anaheim Ducks salvage a point from a 3-2 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers. With that, Getzlaf has 19 assists and 21 points in 22 games. Anaheim is no longer much of a critical darling, but don't blame the Ducks' captain for the slippage. Dec 4 - 1:02 AM

After criticizing his production - and the production of Corey Perry - Ryan Getzlaf made a big difference in the Anaheim Ducks' 3-2 win against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

Getzlaf collected an assist and the game-winning goal. That's just his second goal of the season, although he's still been productive overall. Perry didn't generate a tally, but he did provide two assists as the Ducks snapped a three-game losing streak.
Nov 27 - 3:15 AM

Ryan Getzlaf has collected eight assists in his last 10 games.

However, he hasn't scored a goal yet this month with two games left to play in November. Getzlaf has produced just one goal in 18 matches this season. He scored 13 times in 77 games last year, so we probably shouldn't be that surprised. On the bright side, he has 16 points this campaign.
Nov 26 - 10:17 AM

Ryan Getzlaf played in his 800th NHL game on Saturday.

Getzlaf has been a career Duck but Saturday was not a great night for the team as they dropped a 5-0 decision to Nashville. Getzlaf moved past Teemu Selanne on Thursday with his 532nd career assist and is now first all-time on the Ducks list. He has a goal and 13 points this season so he should be in your fantasy lineup at all times.
Nov 13 - 6:17 AM

Ryan Getzlaf sits first on the Ducks' all-time list with 532 assists.

He moved past Teemu Selanne on Thursday night. Getzlaf has scored one goal in 12 games this season, but he has compiled 12 helpers.
Nov 12 - 9:46 AM

Ryan Getzlaf is now tied with Teemu Selanne in terms of career assists with the Anaheim Ducks.

Getzlaf had three assists on Monday to bring him up to 531. To be clear, while Selanne had 531 assists with the Ducks, he recorded a total of 773 over the course of his career. "That’s a big honor for me," Getzlaf said. "To spend as much as my career that I have here, those things I think are a natural progression and hopefully they can continue. Being up there with ‘T’ is a big honor for me."
Nov 7 - 8:30 AM

Ryan Getzlaf will return to his usual first line duties in Sunday's match with Calgary.

The Ducks' captain will be flanked by Nick Ritchie and Corey Perry. Getzlaf meanwhile has eight helpers and nine points in nine games thus far.
Nov 6 - 9:17 PM

Ryan Getzlaf (UBI) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's match with Calgary, per coach Randy Carlyle.

Getzlaf has missed the last two games, but he has eight helpers and nine points in nine game so far this season. With such a short schedule today, we'd err on the side of caution.
Nov 6 - 1:40 PM

Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) participated in Saturday's practice.

There's a chance that Getzlaf will be available for Sunday's contest. He's missed the Ducks' last two games.
Nov 6 - 8:37 AM

Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) was on the ice prior to Friday's practice.

That's encouraging, but Getzlaf will still miss Friday's contest. It will be his second straight game on the sidelines.
Nov 4 - 2:35 PM

Ryan Getzlaf logged 15:43 in his return to the lineup on Friday night.

He posted two shots in a 4-0 loss to Columbus after missing one game with an arm injury. Getzlaf has one goal and seven assists in eight matches.
Oct 29 - 10:20 AM

Ryan Getzlaf is likely to be back in the lineup on Friday night from an arm injury.

"He'll take warmups but all indications look like, unless he has a setback, he should be available to us," coach Randy Carlyle said. Getzlaf participated in an optional workout Thursday and then skated with Nick Ritchie and Corey Perry during Friday's morning session. It appears as though it is safe to activate him.
Oct 28 - 5:07 PM

Ryan Getzlaf (arm) took part in Friday's morning skate.

He took part in line rushes with Corey Perry and Nick Ritchie, which is a good sign that he may be fine to play against Columbus.
Oct 28 - 1:57 PM

Ryan Getzlaf (arm) is questionable on Friday.

Getzlaf missed Wednesday's contest due to the ailment. He did take part in Thursday's optional practice, but he wanted to wait to see how his arm feels in the morning.
Oct 28 - 4:20 AM

Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) will be a game-time decision Wednesday night.

As previously reported, Getzlaf's upper-body condition might be a forearm injury from when he was struck by the puck during Tuesday's contest. He's off to a great start this season with a goal and eight points. The silver lining here is that even if Getzlaf ultimately can't play on Wednesday, clearly this isn't being treated like anything other than a short-term injury.
