Ryan Getzlaf was not at all happy with the way the Anaheim Ducks came out to play Game 7.

Game 7 against the Los Angeles Kings was a home game for the Ducks but they were totally outplayed by the Kings who scored three times in the first. "This whole thing, it's a bitter pill," Getzlaf said. "To come out and let them get that lead ... I lay a lot of that on our shoulders. Things that we need to do differently. Nerves got us a little bit. Pucks were bouncing around a little bit and they were capitalizing. When they come out with a 3-0 lead, you're probably not going to beat a team like the Kings." It was the second straight year that the Ducks lost a Game 7 at home. Changes will be made and most likely in goal where UFA to be, Jonas Hiller, is not expected to be re-signed.

Getzlaf assisted on Devante Smith-Pelly's first-period goal and scored almost three minutes later on the power play. Getzlaf has points in four straight games, with four goals and 12 points. Corey Perry assisted twice and picked up two penalty minutes. Sure, the Ducks pulled this one out to even the series, but after 11 shots in the first period, they managed three the rest of the way. That will not be a recipe for success the rest of the way.

Ryan Getzlaf knows the Ducks need a team effort on Thursday to beat the Kings in Game 3.

Los Angeles has a 2-0 series lead. "Anytime our team is down, I want to do more," said Getzlaf. "I've got to try and find a way to do some different things but stay within my game. But it's not all about me. I'm not going to go out and win Game 3 by myself, that's for sure. The story of our season has been our depth in our lineup, and we need everybody pushing from top to bottom, all the way through. We all need to be better." He has a team-leading 10 points in seven playoff games.
