Corey Perry has tied the record for the most overtime goals in a single playoff run.
As previously reported, Perry netted the game winner in Anaheim's 3-2 overtime win against Nashville in Game 4 Thursday night. That was his third overtime goal of 2017, which matches him with Mel Hall and Maurice Richard from 1939 and 1951 respectively. May 19 - 10:06 AM

Updating a previous item, Corey Perry scored the game-winning goal in Anaheim's 3-2 OT win over Nashville in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final.

Nate Thompson was originally given credit for the goal, but that has since been changed. Perry threw a puck towards the net in overtime, and it bounced off Preds defenseman P.K. Subban before going into the net. The goal allowed Perry to become just the eighth player in the last 25 years to score four overtime goals (or more) in the playoffs. The Ducks forward has now scored in back-to-back games. He has four goals and 11 points in 15 games this postseason. The Ducks and Preds are now tied at two in the best-of-seven series. Game 5 will be played in Anaheim on Saturday night.
May 19 - 1:00 AM

Corey Perry found the back of the net in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final.

Today was Perry's 32nd birthday, but the Predators ruined the party. Perry scored from a seemingly impossible angle, as he bounced a puck (from below the goal line) off Preds goalie Pekka Rinne and in the net. It was his first goal since Game 5 of Anaheim's second-round series against Edmonton. Rickard Rakell and Sami Vatanen picked up the assists on Anaheim's only goal. Perry finished the game with two penalty minutes, two shots on goal and one hit in 14:57 of ice time. He has three goals and 10 points in 14 games this postseason. The Ducks now trail the best-of-seven series 2-1. Game 4 will be played in Nashville on Thursday.
May 16 - 11:13 PM

Corey Perry is on a four-game point streak.

Perry kept that going by registering an assist in the Ducks' 2-1 win over Edmonton in Game 7 Wednesday night. He had been quiet earlier in the playoffs and had a rough regular season, so it's encouraging to see him on a roll now. Goals will be at a premium against the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference Final, so the Ducks need their top forwards to be at their best.
May 11 - 9:47 AM

Both of Corey Perry's goals during the playoffs have come in overtime.

Well, that's the best way to score if you are only going to get a couple of goals. It has been a rough season for Perry who potted only 19 goals in the regular season, down from 34 last year. Perry has seven points in nine games and has benefited greatly from a return to the top line as he has been clicking once again with Ryan Getzlaf.
May 7 - 7:29 AM

Corey Perry scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 4-3 double OT win over the Oilers.

Perry also racked up a pair of assists in this one. The Ducks were trailing 3-0 late in the third period, but they managed to score three goals with goalie John Gibson on the bench in favor of an extra attacker. Perry assisted on Cam Fowler's goal (3-2) at the 17:19 mark of the third frame and Rickard Rakell's tally (3-3) with 15 seconds remaining in regulation. Perry ended the game at the 6:57 mark of the second overtime. The Ducks forward is now up to two goals and five assists in nine games during the playoffs. Anaheim leads the best-of-seven series 3-2. They'll have a chance to eliminate the Oilers in Edmonton on Sunday night.
May 6 - 3:07 AM

Corey Perry remains confident despite continued scoring woes.

Perry has been limited to a goal and three points in seven playoff games after scoring 19 goals in the regular season, down from 34 markers in 2015-16. "Like I’ve said all season long," Perry said, "I’ve had my chances to score. The puck hasn’t gone in the net. I’ve had my shots. You look at my shot totals and they’re up there where they normally are. My shooting percentage is way down. That’s all it is. But again, it’s being in the right spots. It’s going to the net. It’s creating chances." Patrick Eaves is dealing with a lower-body injury and Perry consequently skated on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf during Tuesday's practice. If Perry ends up playing with Getzlaf in Game 4 on Wednesday then that might be what ends up sparking him.
May 3 - 4:07 AM

Corey Perry skated alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell during Tuesday's practice.

Patrick Eaves suffered a lower-body injury in Game 3 against Edmonton and didn't skate Tuesday, so Perry might be in line to take his place. Perry also worked on the first power-play unit. He has produced just one goal and two assists in seven playoff games, but this could be a great opportunity for him to get going offensively.
May 2 - 2:04 PM

Corey Perry netted the overtime goal in Anaheim's 5-4 victory against Calgary on Monday.

With that goal, Perry and the Ducks have taken a 3-0 series lead in the first round. That was Perry's first goal of the 2017 playoffs and his 80th point in 100 career postseason contests. It was also his second career overtime goal in the playoffs.
Apr 18 - 9:13 AM

Corey Perry might have had a disappointing regular season, but that will seem moot if he excels in the playoffs.

"This is where people make their names," said Perry. "It’s a new season. Everybody starts fresh. There’s only 16 teams left and you want to be one of those 16 to start it off." Perry finished the 2016-17 campaign with 19 goals and 53 points in 82 games. Excluding the lockout shortened 2013 season, he had scored at least 30 goals in each of his previous five campaigns.
Apr 13 - 9:56 AM

Corey Perry scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 4-3 OT loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Perry scored back-to-back goals in the first and second periods to give his team 2-1 and 3-1 leads at the time. Unfortunately for the Ducks, they gave up the game-tying goal with just 12 seconds remaining in regulation. Perry has had a disappointing season, but he could be building some positive momentum going into the playoffs. The Ducks sniper has four goals in his last four games. He's up to 18 goals and 51 points in 77 games.
Mar 30 - 11:49 PM

Corey Perry netted his 15th goal of 2016-17 Friday night.

Perry snapped a four-game point drought. He's usually good for far more goals than this and in fact he recorded at least 30 goals in each of his previous three campaigns. The difference this season has been a steep drop in his shooting percentage as it's currently at 7.5, down from his career average of 13.1.
Mar 25 - 9:23 AM

Although Anaheim is still in the running for the Pacific Division title, Corey Perry feels it doesn't matter if the Ducks claim the division title for the fifth straight campaign.

"It doesn’t matter," Perry said. "It hasn’t mattered the last four years. Whatever happens, happens. There hasn’t been any talk in here. You could probably ask guys where we are right now and a lot of them would say we’re in a playoff spot. But it switches every single night. You just go out and you play. Let the chips fall where they fall." Of course winning the division is helpful from a seeding perspective, but Perry's right in that it's ultimately the postseason that matters. The Ducks disappointed last season with their first round exit, so we'll see if they can make a longer run this time around.
Mar 24 - 8:53 AM

With the regular season winding down, Corey Perry might be heating up.

The sample size is pretty small, but Perry does have three goals and four points in his last three games. Just as importantly, he's feeling good about his play lately. "The chances have been coming," Perry said. "Pucks are starting to follow me around. It’s all about going to get it. Moving my feet and playing my game." This has been a rough campaign for Perry, but if he can finish the regular season on a high note and then carry that momentum into the playoffs then that would be huge for the Ducks.
Mar 14 - 7:55 AM

Corey Perry energized the Ducks Sunday night with two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win against Washington.

It's the third time this season Perry has collected three points in a game. The veteran winger now has 14 goals and 46 points in 69 games this year.
