Corey Perry netted his 15th goal of 2016-17 Friday night.
Perry snapped a four-game point drought. He's usually good for far more goals than this and in fact he recorded at least 30 goals in each of his previous three campaigns. The difference this season has been a steep drop in his shooting percentage as it's currently at 7.5, down from his career average of 13.1. Mar 25 - 9:23 AM

Although Anaheim is still in the running for the Pacific Division title, Corey Perry feels it doesn't matter if the Ducks claim the division title for the fifth straight campaign.

"It doesn’t matter," Perry said. "It hasn’t mattered the last four years. Whatever happens, happens. There hasn’t been any talk in here. You could probably ask guys where we are right now and a lot of them would say we’re in a playoff spot. But it switches every single night. You just go out and you play. Let the chips fall where they fall." Of course winning the division is helpful from a seeding perspective, but Perry's right in that it's ultimately the postseason that matters. The Ducks disappointed last season with their first round exit, so we'll see if they can make a longer run this time around.
Mar 24 - 8:53 AM

With the regular season winding down, Corey Perry might be heating up.

The sample size is pretty small, but Perry does have three goals and four points in his last three games. Just as importantly, he's feeling good about his play lately. "The chances have been coming," Perry said. "Pucks are starting to follow me around. It’s all about going to get it. Moving my feet and playing my game." This has been a rough campaign for Perry, but if he can finish the regular season on a high note and then carry that momentum into the playoffs then that would be huge for the Ducks.
Mar 14 - 7:55 AM

Corey Perry energized the Ducks Sunday night with two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win against Washington.

It's the third time this season Perry has collected three points in a game. The veteran winger now has 14 goals and 46 points in 69 games this year.
Mar 13 - 12:35 AM

Corey Perry scored his 12th goal of the year in a 1-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.

The goal is Perry's first since February 9th and breaks a run of four games without a point. His 0.64 points-per-game pace would be the lowest total of his career since the 2006-07 season when he had 0.54 points-per-game. We wouldn't ever recommend dropping a player of Perry's caliber but we wouldn't be blaming anyone if they were looking to swap him out for a more productive forward.
Mar 9 - 11:26 PM

Corey Perry hasn't produced a goal in 10 consecutive contests.

It's the third time this season that Perry has had a goal drought of at least 10 games. He has generated a mere 11 markers and 42 points in 66 matches.

Mar 9 - 11:28 AM

Corey Perry played a season-low 11:59 on Friday.

The forward has been in a bad slump all season has only 11 goals and 42 points in 64 games, well below his career average. Perry did take three minors which didn't help but coach Randy Carlyle has been disappointed with his star's play.
Mar 5 - 6:46 AM

Corey Perry's reputation is taking a bad hit as Daniel Winnik accused him of a dirty hit Saturday.

It was the second time this season that Perry has been called out as Mathieu Perreault made a similar accusation in January after Perry broke his finger with a slash. On Saturday, Winnik claimed that Perry slew-footed him and that is something you do not do to a fellow player. Perry had four minutes in penalties Saturday and was a minus-two. He has 11 goals and 39 points in 57 games this season with 45 penalty minutes and a minus-two rating.
Feb 12 - 10:46 AM

Corey Perry scored two goals and picked up an assist in a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.

Lehner gave up a terrible rebound straight to Perry for his second of the night. The goals break a six-game goalless drought for Perry. He's now up to 11 goals and 39 points in 56 games this season. He if continues at this current pace, it'll be his lowest points-per-game pace since the 2006-07 season. Rickard Rakell, Antoine Vermette, and Andrew Cogliano also scored for the Ducks in the win.
Feb 9 - 11:14 PM

Corey Perry is among those trying to find out why his goal scoring has been so low this season.

Perry is typically good for 30-40 goals per season, but through 55 contests he's been limited to just nine goals in 2016-17. So he's asking the question: What's going on with Perry? "You’re only human if you don’t, right?" Perry said. "You don’t obviously talk to yourself. But you know what’s going on. You’re just trying to figure out how to get back to what you were. It’s a matter of working harder. Doing extra. Whatever it may be. You got to try to find something." It's worth noting that Perry's shooting percentage is just 6.1 this season, down from his career average of 13.2%. An argument could be made that he's simply been unlucky, but this late into the season, it's getting harder and harder to think that his luck will balance out.
Feb 9 - 4:10 AM

Corey Perry has only nine goals in 54 games this season.

That is quite a comedown for a former 50 goal scorer who has also scored 30 or more goals six times. Eric Stephens of the Orange-County Register seems to think that the lack of a good pass to Perry is causing the problems and he just needs someone to get him the puck. He does have 27 assists as well but when drafting Perry, you want his goals.
Feb 6 - 6:04 AM

Corey Perry scored for the second time this month in a 5-3 loss to Minnesota.

It's hard to believe that the former 50 goal scorer and six-time 30-plus goal getter, has only nine this season in 49 games but that's what he has. He does have 25 assists but that was not what you were expecting when you drafted him so high in your pool. He has just two goals in his last 19 games so a breakout could be expected shortly.
Jan 22 - 7:10 AM

Corey Perry found the back of the net in Anaheim's 4-1 win over Colorado Thursday night.

Perry ended a 13-game goal scoring drought when he scored into an empty net. He has eight goals and 32 points in 40 contests this season.
Jan 13 - 10:48 AM

Corey Perry registered an assist in Anaheim's 2-0 win over Dallas Tuesday night.

While that's an obvious positive, Perry also fired three shots on goal but couldn't snap his goal scoring drought. He's now gone 13 straight games without a marker and his shooting percentage is just 5.9, down from his career average of 13.3%.
Jan 11 - 4:12 AM

The Anaheim Ducks have stopped using Corey Perry in overtime.

Well, at least in the three-on-three situations as the speed of the extra time may be too much for the 31-year-old. Perry is really struggling to score goals this season with only seven in 38 games after five straight 30 goal campaigns not including the lockout season. While he is still a very good player, Perry is not an elite forward in fantasy hockey anymore.
