Kevin Klein is being scratched in favor of Adam Clendening on Thursday against the Sabres.

"There's no doubt in my estimation that [Klein] can play better than he's played," coach Alain Vigneault said. In terms of fantasy, Klein has been fine in November with six points in 15 games, 10 shots, 26 blocks and 38 hits. He's scored 19 goals and 64 points since joining the Rangers, so we'd get him back in your lineup when he returns.

To the surprise of his teammates, Kevin Klein (thumb) was on the ice Thursday morning.

Klein fractured his thumb on Tuesday, so to see him already resume skating is encouraging. This doesn't change the fact that he's out indefinitely, but it speaks to his pain tolerance and might lead to him returning earlier than he otherwise would have.
