Kevin Klein (broken arm) is taking longer than expected to return to the lineup.
It was originally thought that Klein would be out for three-four weeks but it has now been six weeks since the injury. He had nine goals and 26 points this season and was a force on the Rangers blueline. Consider him day-to-day. Apr 25 - 8:01 AM

Kevin Klein (broken arm) will not return on Friday.

Klein last played on March 11. The odds of him returning on Friday were pegged as 50-50. Rangers coach Alain Vigneault fought against the notion that Klein has suffered a setback in his recovery, but he did say that the bone is taking longer to heal than initially anticipated.
Apr 24 - 12:44 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) is considered "50-50" to play in Game 5.

He skated on his own Thursday and hasn't played since Mar. 11 because of a broken arm. "He was a little sore from yesterday, so we'll see how he reacts, responds tomorrow," coach Alain Vigneault said.
Apr 23 - 4:50 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) has officially been ruled for Game 4 Wednesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Klein has been practicing with the team the last two days but is still not fully healthy to participate in game action. Head coach Alain Vigneault said that as soon as Klein is ready, he’ll return to the lineup, so he is nearing a return, which is good news for Ranger fans. Matt Hunwick will continue to skate in place of Klein.
Apr 22 - 5:14 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) was on the ice Tuesday morning.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault declined to provide an update on Klein's status, simply stating that Klein will play when he's ready. Regard him as questionable for Wednesday's game.
Apr 21 - 4:02 PM

Updating a previous blurb, it appears that Kevin Klein (arm) will be unavailable for Game 3 Monday.

The Rangers want Klein to get in at least one full practice as he has been out of action since March 11 and with the Rangers cancelling their Sunday practice, it seems unlikely that the defenseman will get that practice in.
Apr 19 - 8:15 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) skated once again on Saturday.

The Rangers need Klein to skate in one full practice before they will feel comfortable in putting him in the lineup. When coach Alain Vigneault was asked if Sunday would be the day that Klein practiced with the team he said: "Do I think Klein will practice? I know he skated. We’re waiting to see how the pain will be for the rest of the day." Stay tuned.
Apr 19 - 7:50 AM

Do not expect to see Kevin Klein (arm) on the Rangers blueline for Game 2 Saturday.

Klein has been practicing by himself of late, including Friday, but he has yet to be cleared to practice with the team, so his inclusion in the lineup for Game 2 is likely non-existent. Klein suffered a broken arm on March 11 and has not played since. He ended the season with nine goals and 26 points in 65 games.
Apr 18 - 7:41 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) skated Thursday, but he won't play in Game 1.

He is still listed as day-to-day. Klein hasn't played since Mar. 11 because of a broken arm.
Apr 16 - 3:36 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) didn't skate on Wednesday.

"He's on a day to day basis," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said of Klein. "I'm expecting, one of these next days, to have somebody knock on my door and say he's going to be OK. What day that's going to be, I don't know." It would be very surprising if Klein played in Game 1 against Pittsburgh on Thursday. He had nine goals and 26 points in 65 games this season.
Apr 16 - 9:29 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) is doubtful for Game 1 of the first round.

Look for Kevin Klein (arm) to practice with the Rangers on Tuesday.

Klein missed the last 16 games of the season with a broken arm but is slated to be ready in the upcoming week for the playoffs. He had nine goals and 26 points before his injury and is worth taking in deep playoff pools.

Apr 12 - 8:24 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) is nearing a return to the New York Rangers lineup.

While he will not play on Saturday and miss his 16th straight game, coach Alain Vigneault hopes that Klein will practice with the team next week before the start of the playoffs and be ready to go in Game 1. Klein broke his arm on March 11 while he was in the midst of his best offensive season in NHL as he has nine goals and 26 points.
Apr 11 - 7:39 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) will sit for a 14th straight game on Tuesday.

He was on the ice Tuesday morning and did some light stick-handling, but he isn't shooting at full strength yet. Klein was seen sending light passes toward the crease instead of shots.
Apr 7 - 4:58 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) has begun skating on his own but his return before the start of the playoffs is very much in doubt.

Klein broke his arm on March 11 and while the original prognosis was three-four weeks, coach Alain Vigneault stated that was now four-six weeks. That means he will be back at the end of the regular season or somewhere during the first round. "That we’ll know once he takes his next X-rays and the doctors tell us if they’re comfortable with where he’s at," Vigneault said. "If the docs say he’s cleared and he can, he will play. But if they say he’d be better taking a couple of extra days, then we’re not going to hesitate to do that." Klein is not allowed to stickhandle at this time and that will hurt the timing of his return.
