Kevin Klein (arm) hopes to resume skating next week.
Klein hasn't played since March 11. He's no where near close to returning, but given that his injury is a broken bone in his arm, he can still do lower body and core exercises. Mar 20 - 1:04 PM

Date:

Kevin Klein (arm) will return to the New York lineup in time for the playoffs.

Klein could also return for the final week of the regular season as he recovers after taking a shot on his arm from an Alex Ovechkin shot Wednesday. Klein had nine goals and 26 points in 65 games this season, his best in the NHL.
Mar 14 - 8:27 AM

Kevin Klein (arm) is expected to miss the next three-to-four weeks.

In other words, Klein will probably be limited to, at most, a few games for the rest of the regular season. That all-but kills his remaining fantasy value in standard leagues, but at least it will give him a chance to shake off the rust before the playoffs. He has nine goals and 26 points in 65 games in 2014-15.
Mar 12 - 6:53 PM

Kevin Klein (arm) has returned to New York so that he can be evaluated.

Klein probably won't rejoin the Rangers in time to play in Saturday's game in Buffalo. He might miss significantly more time than that though depending on the severity of his injury. He was struck by a shot from Alex Ovechkin during Wednesday's game.
Mar 12 - 12:13 PM

Kevin Klein suffered an arm injury during Wednesday's game.

Klein was struck by a shot from Alex Ovechkin. Klein needed X-rays, but the results and his overall condition were immediately known. The Rangers aren't scheduled to practice on Thursday, so we might not get an update until Friday.
Mar 12 - 11:11 AM

Kevin Klein is on a four game points streak as he chipped in with two assists on Saturday.

Klein has five helpers in his last four games as he tied a career high in points with 23. He has eight goals this season with a plus-21 rating and deserves to be part of most fantasy rosters at this time.
Feb 15 - 7:49 AM

Kevin Klein and Marc Staal have become the Rangers top shut down defensemen.

Klein thinks that his game and Staal's complement each others very well. "He makes those plays down low in our own end," Staal said of Klein. "He separates guys from pucks well, where it can be easy for me to slip in and grab a puck. And at the offensive blue line, as we've played together, we've gotten more active as a pair, as well." Klein has eight goals and 21 points with a plus-20 rating this season.
Feb 14 - 9:49 AM

Kevin Klein will return to Nashville for the first time since he was dealt for Michael Del Zotto last season.

Klein has excelled offensively and defensively for the Rangers this season as he leads the defense in goals and points with eight and 18 respectively. "I kind of grew up there," Klein said, "from a kid when I first got drafted there into the man I am now."

Feb 7 - 8:42 AM

Kevin Klein continues to be a top-four defenseman with the Rangers.

When Klein was dealt to the Rangers from the Predators last season, it was not seen as a big trade as the Rangers dropped Michael Del Zotto who they were not happy with and received what they thought was a solid defensive rearguard. But Klein has been a scorer as well as a hard nosed defenseman as he has eight goals to lead all Rangers blueliners, as well as eight assists with a plus-15 rating. "Even though Kleiner doesn’t have a letter, I think he’s a big leader on this team," teammate Daniel Girardi said. "He’s very important to our team. He’s a high-energy guy off the ice, always positive. He keeps it light, which is good for the guys. And he does it all: He’s hitting guys, scoring goals, fighting. I played with him before (in 2003-04 for the Guelph Storm in juniors), so I knew already this, but he does everything hard. He never has a night off."
Jan 18 - 9:00 AM

Kevin Klein lit the lamp for the Rangers in their 3-2 shootout win over the Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Klein tied the game with 2:23 left in the third. He now has seven goals this season, which is more than he’s had in his last two seasons combined. He’s riding an unsustainable 22.6 percent scoring rate, so potential fantasy owners beware. Still, he has 11 points on the year, so he should be able to set a career-high there. J.T. Miller scored the other goal in the win.

Kevin Klein has scored six of the Rangers nine goals among defensemen but still does not see action on the power play.

Klein has played only 3:34 minutes with the man-advantage this season in 25 games and that ranks seventh on the Rangers defensive corps. Klein has 10 points and is a plus-nine this season. "[He] knows that he can score five more goals five-on-five and I’m still not going to use him on the power play," Alain Vigneault said. All right then.

Kevin Klein picked up two assists on Saturday to give him eight points this season.

Klein has four goals and four assists as he has surprisingly given the Rangers some unexpected scoring this season. He was not expected to do this as his usual fantasy assets have been hits and blocked shots. If you drafted him, you have to be thrilled with his start.

Kevin Klein has already tied his career-high for goals scored in a single season.

Klein found the back of the net in the Rangers' 2-0 victory on Wednesday, giving him four markers in 18 games. He previously reached that mark in 2008-09 and 2011-12, but obviously with most of the season still ahead of him, there's a good chance Klein will set a new personal best.

Kevin Klein (foot) is expected to play on Wednesday.

The Rangers have already taken the step of sending Dylan McIlrath back to the AHL. Klein has two goals and three points in 10 games in 2014-15.

Kevin Klein will miss at least two games with a foot contusion.

Klein suffered the injury 28 seconds into Saturday's game when he blocked a shot. He was on crutches at practice Sunday but how long he will be out will need to wait until the swelling in his foot subsides. The Rangers are reeling with injuries on the blueline so this extra one hurts.
