Kevin Klein is dealing with an upper body injury.

Klein's injury is being classified as below the neck, so read into that as you will. He has three goals and 12 points in 43 games this season.
Apr 15 - 12:41 PM

Kevin Klein was the only Nashville goal scorer in a 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets Thursday.

Klein isn't the most likely source of offense for Nashville as the goal was just his third of the campaign. Patric Hornqvist and David Legwand drew assists on the marker.
Apr 4 - 10:48 PM

Predators defenseman Kevin Klein was assessed his first penalty of the season in Saturday's loss to San Jose.

Amazingly, Klein had not amassed any penalty minutes since October 29, 2011, which was the only game in which he took a penalty during the 2011-12 season. This, of course, is actually bad news for those playing in rotisserie formats since PIM are typically rewarded, but it's an astounding feat nonetheless.
Mar 3 - 9:26 AM

Kevin Klein has accumulated just four penalty minutes in his last 75 games.

"For the most part, I think one of my strengths is the penalty kill, and you want to be out there to kill penalties for other guys," Klein said. His discipline is great for his team, but it's something that actually hurts most fantasy owners. Klein doesn't do enough offensively to justify owning him in standard leagues, but he has some value in leagues that use alternate stats like blocked shots.

Kevin Klein was given a lot of attention while playing for Herlev Eagles of the Danish League.

"They had pictures of him made so they could sell them, that he signed. He would always get interviewed after the game in front of the VIP people. There was this huge spray-painted sign saying, ‘Welcome Klein No. 18,’ and fans would chant his name," Kevin Klein's sister, Laura said. "He wasn't given everything, but the fans supported him to the fullest, not even knowing who he was. They just knew he was (an NHL) hockey player." Klein had a goal and three points in eight games. He's returned home while the Danish League is on break.

Kevin Klein will head to Denmark to play in the AL-Bank Ligaen with the Herlev Eagles.

The team's website announced the signing on Wednesday. The club gave credit to center Kim Staal, who played with Klein during the 2006-07 season with AHL Milwaukee, for helping in the recruitment process. Klein received a five-year extension with the Predators worth $14.5 million in September. He scored 21 points in 66 games last season, but should get a larger role now that Ryan Suter is in Minnesota.

Kevin Klein re-signed with the Predators on a five-year, $14.5 million deal.

The defenseman was entering the final year of his three-year, $4.05 million contract. The 27-year-old is coming off a career year in which he compiled 21 points and had only four penalty minutes in 66 games. He should be in store for more ice time with Ryan Suter now in Minnesota.

Look for Kevin Klein to see more ice time this season with the departure of Ryan Suter.

Klein had the best season of his career in the points department with 21 last year and should improve on that with Suter now in Minnesota. "You don’t really replace a guy like (Suter)," Klein said. "But we’re going to step up and everyone is going to step up and do a little extra. You’re replacing 28 minutes a game." Klein had only four penalty minutes last season so his value takes a hit in pools that use that category.

Kevin Klein, who was one of the stars in the first round of the playoffs, had a tough start in Round 2.

The defenseman had a couple of goals and an assist in the five game series versus Detroit, but was minus-two and was in the penalty box with his first minor since October 29, when the Coyotes scored a power play goal. "If you make a mistake, it’s going to show out there no matter who you are. It’s one of those things," Klein said. "(Six) days off, you’re a little out of sync with how quickly the game is moving. As the game went on, I felt better." Game 2 is Sunday in Phoenix.

Kevin Klein is earning some recognition in the playoffs for his strong play - and for his Mohawk which is spreading through the Nashville locker room.

Klein, Francis Bouillon and Roman Josi began the playoffs sporting the hairdo and now that the team is in the second round Hal Gill, Nick Spaling, Matt Halischuk and Brandon Yip have jumped on board as well. Klein averaged 21:28 of ice time against Detroit in the opening round, while contributing two goals, one assist, eight hits and 11 blocks. However, his role on the club may diminish in the team's semifinal series versus Phoenix if Gill is able to return from a lower-body injury.

Kevin Klein had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory Sunday.

Klein was held off the scoresheet in the first two games of Nashville's first round series. Klein also has recorded five hits and eight blocked shots in three games.

Kevin Klein (upper body) returned to action on Saturday March 17.

Klein missed eight games with the upper body injury. He picked up his 12th assist of the season while playing 16:57 minutes in a 4-2 loss to the Kings. He has no real fantasy value as he rarely gets power play time and has only 16 points in 55 games.

Kevin Klein (upper-body injury) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against the Kings.

He has missed the Preds' last eight games but seems to be closing in on a return. As Klein has no real fantasy value, this news will not impact your roster choices.

Kevin Klein (upper body) practiced again on Thursday but missed his eighth straight game.

Klein has four goals and 15 points in 54 games this season. "If there’s no setbacks I can see myself playing Saturday" at Los Angeles, Klein said. Stay tuned.
