Kevin Klein (thumb) was amused by the news he was out indefinitely.

Klein fractured his thumb on Tuesday but plans to return on Saturday. "Then I found out I was out indefinitely and I started laughing and the doc was laughing, too," Klein added. "He said, ‘Well, you could possibly play, it’s just a pain tolerance thing.‘Yeah, so it was a miscommunication." To be clear, it was the Rangers that initially said Klein would be out indefinitely.

Kevin Klein (thumb) should be back on Saturday.

If true, Klein would be playing less than a week after fracturing his thumb. "I’m definitely ready to play, I felt like I could’ve played [Thursday]," said Klein. "But they felt I should have some battle drills to make sure I’m ready." He'll wear a split under his glove, but he doesn't think the injury will impact his game.

To the surprise of his teammates, Kevin Klein (thumb) was on the ice Thursday morning.
