Forward Dan Fritsche was released by the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Fristche was released then signed to a three-year deal with HC Geneva-Servette of the Swiss Elite League. "I've been in this league a long time now, and I've seen how the system works," Fritsche said. "I realize once you're pushed out of the league, it's hard to get back in. You're no longer a team prospect, no longer a guy the team has money committed to. It's not just the Blue Jackets, but they have a lot of prospects in the organization right now." Dan Fritsche plans to play in Switzerland if he can't earn a spot on Columbus' opening day roster.

Fritsche will participate in training camp on a professional tryout agreement. He turned down some two-way deals this summer and he doesn't appear to have any interest in playing in the AHL.

Dan Fritsche has accepted a professional tryout agreement with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Fritsche will try and crack the Blue Jackets' roster after scoring 13 goals and 42 points in 67 AHL games last season. If he can't find a spot on an NHL team's opening day roster, he'll probably sign with a European club.

Dan Fritsche has signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets' AHL-affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Fritsche signed a minor-league contract and he can't be called up by the Blue Jackets unless they sign him to a contract as well. Fritsche participated in the Thrashers' training camp on a tryout basis but he failed to make the team. Obviously, he has no fantasy value at this time.

Dan Fritsche has been released by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Fritsche had a solitary assist in five pre-season games with the Thrashers. He will look to catch on with an AHL team or go to Europe for the season.

Minnesota did not give four players qualifying offers on Monday.

Dan Fritsche, Peter Olvecky, Paul Albers and defenseman Riley Emmerson will be permitted to test the market as unrestricted free agents. Fritsche recorded 13 points in 50 games this past season, while Olvecky earned seven points over 31 contests.

Dan Fritsche suffered a chest injury on Friday and will not play on Saturday.

Fritsche suffered the injury when hit by the Predators Jordin Tootoo. Since the Wild were eliminated from the post-season on Friday, Fritsche's season is over.

Dan Fritsche doesn't regret his time with the New York Rangers.

Fritsche was a healthy scratch in all but one game with the Rangers from November 30th until Minnesota acquired him on January 29th. "I didn't play much here, but I loved playing here. I loved living here. I miss the city. It was an awesome experience and a great opportunity -- even though I didn't play," Fritsche said. Fritsche has played primarily on the fourth line for Minnesota, but he's expected to get more playing time while Mikko Koivu is out with a knee injury.

Dan Fritsche made his Minnesota Wild debut on Friday.

He played 11:52 minutes in the 3-1 loss to Edmonton. Coach Jacques Lemaire was concerned about a lack of conditioning with Fritsche as the ex-New York Ranger had played only once since Nov. 30 before Friday's game. "I talked to him about conditioning because I had a question mark if I'm going to play him," Lemaire said. "He said, 'That's the one thing, I think I'm in good shape.' I said, 'Well if you're in good shape, you're in.'" Look for Fritsche to move up the depth charts if he can start scoring for the offensively challenged Minnesota Wild.

The New York Rangers have traded Dan Fritsche to the Minnesota Wild.

Fritsche has only played once since Nov. 30, so this will be a fresh start for the 23-year-old. Fritsche has offensive upside and with the Wild in dire need of some scoring, he will get every opportunity to show what he is capable of. He is worth a shot on the waiver wire at this time.
