It addition to Saturday's contest being McDonald's first with the Flyers this season, it was also his 146 career game. The 32-year-old forward now has 20 goals and 46 points. McDonald also had three hits despite logging just 7:30 minutes of ice time.

Colin McDonald will make his season debut against the Devils on Saturday.

He'll skate on the fourth line to the right of Chris VandeVelde and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. "My role is a little bit different here than it is [in the AHL]," McDonald said. "They know that and I know that. I'm going to go out there and try to play physical, get pucks in and just bring some energy."

McDonald drew into the lineup on Wednesday because Pierre-Edouard Bellemare was serving a one-game suspension. However, McDonald did well enough to not only stay in the lineup, but earn a promotion. He'll play alongside Nick Cousins and Matt Read.
