Vancouver center Maxim Lapierre has historically gotten a lot of penalty minutes but, if he's to be believed, he says his misconducts will decrease significantly in the coming season.

"I’ve been doing a lot of thinking," Lapierre said. "It’s going to be a physical game when we get back playing and I don’t think I’m going to talk as much on the ice. I even think I’m not even going to talk at all. I’m going to play my role and play physical. Do what I have to do and get back to the bench."

Maxim Lapierre scored his seventh of the season and added two assists in the Cancuks 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

Lapierre doesn't produce much offensively, but he will contribute some penalty minutes to your cause if you need some.

Maxim Lapierre scored the only Vancouver goal in a 2-1 shootout loss at the hands of the Blue Jackets Tuesday.

Lapierre's fifth marker of the campaign tied the contest midway through the third period and was assisted by Christopher Higgins. The inability of the Sedins to generate offense was ultimately the team's downfall on this night.

Maxim Lapierre has signed a two-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks.

Lapierre will make $1 million per season under the new deal, a raise of $100,000 over last season. "Max is an exemplary teammate," assistant GM Laurence Gilman said. "We like the feistiness that he brought on the ice. He brought a dimension to our team that I think was needed. To complement that he was a terrific person in the room and always upbeat. He was very coachable. Lots of players come to you with things said about them. The fact we went to Max with a two-year commitment means we were obviously pleased with his performance on the ice as well as his character. We're excited he's going to be here for the next two years." He will provide a bit of scoring as a bottom six forward along with penalty minutes. Draft him accordingly as he is a late pick in a deep, deep draft at best.

Maxim Lapierre has reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

If the report is true, Lapierre will earn $1 million annually. He had 12 points and 80 penalty minutes with Montreal, Anaheim, and Vancouver last season.

Maxim Lapierre is eligible to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

Lapierre is an excellent fourth liner who is definitely an energy player. He is also capable of some scoring as he exhibited in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final when he scored the lone goal in the Canucks 1-0 win. He made $900,000 last season and is certainly looking for a nice raise.

The Canucks’ secondary scoring has been the key to their success this postseason.

Time and time again the Canucks have gone to their secondary scoring to generate offense. Game 5 was the defining moment for that theory when Maxim Lapierre sniped the only goal in the 1-0 win. The Canucks’ grinders and depth forwards have proven their worth in this Stanley Cup run. Alex Burrows, Raffi Torres, and Lapierre have the three GWGs.

Maxim Lapierre scored the lone goal of the game as Vancouver beat Boston 1-0 in Game 5.

What a time for Lapierre to score his second goal of the playoffs. He had been in an offensive funk but it was the Vancouver pest who scored the biggest goal of the series to date. With just under 15 minutes to play Lapierre sniped a goal by Tim Thomas. The assists went to Kevin Bieksa and Raffi Torres. Vancouver now leads the series 3-2 with two games to play. Canada can smell the Cup at this point.

Bruins coach Claude Julien implied that Maxim Lapierre made a mockery of the NHL's ruling on Alex Burrows.

Patrice Bergeron claimed that Alex Burrows bit his finger during Game 1. The NHL did not suspend Burrows over the incident and then, in Game 2, Lapierre apparently taunted Bergeron by moving his fingers close to Bergeron's mouth. "The NHL rules on something, they decide to make a mockery of it, that's totally up to them," Julien said. "If that's their way of handling thing, so be it. We can't waste our time on that stuff." Regardless of what he said, Julien is apparently willing to spend time on this issue, as this isn't the only statement he's made against Lapierre. We'll see if Julien's words can help motivate the Bruins or get under the skin of Lapierre in Game 3 on Monday.

If Maxim Lapierre is looking for a little extra motivation going into Vancouver's series against Boston, he can think back to his upbringing.

"I was raised to hate the Bruins," said Lapierre. "That's the way it is for pretty much everybody in Montreal. They [Canadiens] had to win every year or people would be pissed off for the whole summer." Lapierre has gotten plenty of phone calls from his friends and family back in Quebec to inform him that he has to beat the Bruins. He'll certainly try his best.

Maxim Lapierre scored his first goal of the playoffs in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday.

Lapierre doesn't usually contribute offensively, but he has been a significant player in Vancouver's postseason run. He ranks second in the NHL with 52 hits in 14 playoff games. He also has a respectable 54.0% faceoff success rate in 139 attempts in the postseason.

Maxim Lapierre leads all NHLers in the playoffs with 49 hits.

The Canucks have four of the top five players in the NHL in hits as Kevin Bieksa is third with 45, Alexander Edler is fourth with 43 and Ryan Kesler is tied with former Canuck Shane O'Brien at 42. Only Douglas Murray has entered the fray as he is second with 46. Look for the Canucks to continue their hitting ways in their Western Conference final that starts Sunday.

Max Lapierre is becoming a dominant presence in the Canucks' lineup.

Lapierre is playing with Jannick Hansen and Chris Higgins, a fast and motivated line combo. "As everyone can see, he's a competitor," Vigneault said. "He works really hard on the ice at both ends. He puts his heart and soul into every shift and, obviously, he's playing some real solid hockey for us right now." He has looked the part of an everyday player thus far and should shine in the intense-filled playoffs.

Anaheim has traded Maxim Lapierre and MacGregor Sharp to Vancouver for minor-league forward Joel Perrault and a third round selection.

This marks the second time this season that Lapierre has been dealt. He has registered 11 points and 72 penalty minutes in 59 games with Montreal and Anaheim this campaign. He should add some grit to Vancouver's lineup down the stretch drive as a bottom-six forward.
