The Phoenix Coyotes demoted winger Patrick O'Sullivan to the AHL.

O'Sullivan has just four points in 23 games this season. The once-hot prospect has had a disappointing hockey career, as he's gone from a potential offensive stud to someone who's just trying to stay at the NHL level.

Patrick O'Sullivan has been summoned by the Phoenix Coyotes.

O'Sullivan has two goals and three points in 17 games with Phoenix this season. He's done much better in the minors, where he's scored five goals and seven points in six games.

Patrick O'Sullivan has been waived by the Phoenix Coyotes.

O'Sullivan has two goals and an assist in 17 games this season. We wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting claimed.

Patrick O'Sullivan suited up for the Phoenix Coyotes for the first time on Monday night.

He didn't play in the team's opener after cracking the starting roster out of training camp. O'Sullivan posted one shot in 11:40 of ice time during the Coyotes' 2-1 shootout loss to Dallas.

Patrick O'Sullivan has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Phoenix Coyotes.

O'Sullivan had two goals and eight points in 31 games with the Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes last season. He'll compete for a spot on the Coyotes' third or fourth line.

Patrick O'Sullivan has been great since being demoted to the minors.

O'Sullivan was sent to the minors on Jan. 14 and has seven goals and 13 points in 10 games for the Houston Aeros of the AHL. "He's been awesome," Cody Almond said of O'Sullivan. "He's a great playmaker and goal scorer. His saucer [pass] is four feet high and lands right on your tape. And he backchecks so hard." It looks like O'Sullivan really wants to return to the NHL and quickly. He will need to pass through re-entry waivers if the Wild decide to bring him back up.

The Wild were hoping to get some scoring out of O'Sullivan when they claimed him off waivers from Carolina on Nov. 23 but he scored his only his first game and had gone 20 games without a goal before the Wild decided to put him back on waivers. Teams have until noon ET Friday to put a claim in.

Patrick O'Sullivan was a healthy scratch again on Wednesday.

It was the second game in a row that O'Sullivan sat in the press box and with the Wild winning, it is doubtful that he will return against Nashville on New Year's Eve. Clayton Stoner was also a healthy scratch.

The Minnesota Wild may use Patrick O'Sullivan on the top line on Thursday.

O'Sullivan was a healthy scratch on Saturday but coach Todd Richards is trying to get Mikko Koivu out of his slump and hopes that O'Sullivan is the player to do it.

Patrick O'Sullivan was a healthy scratch on Saturday.

The Wild needed someone to sit with the return to the lineup of Chuck Kobasew and O'Sullivan was chosen as coach Todd Richards wanted the toughness of Brad Staubitz and Eric Nystrom in the lineup against the Stars to counter the physical play of Steve Ott. Look for O'Sullivan to return to the Minnesota lineup when the Wild next play on Thursday against the Coyotes.

Patrick O'Sullivan scored the lone goal in the Wild's 6-1 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night.

The goal, O'Sullivan's second of the season, was assisted by Brent Burns and John Madden. The game marked O'Sullivan's debut for the Wild. He was originally drafted by the Wild in 2003, but never got a chance to suit up for them. This is an impressive start for the centerman. There are no questions about his talent level, but his contributions will hinge on whether he can manage to put it together for a whole season, something he has been unable to do thus far in his career. Continue to monitor his progress.

Patrick O'Sullivan will start Wednesday's game on a line with Matt Cullen and Cal Clutterbuck.

O'Sullivan was originally drafted by the Wild back in 2003 with the 56th overall pick, but he never played a game with them. He is getting an opportunity to succeed in Minnesota after struggling in limited action with Carolina this season.
