Thomas Pock returned to action against the Devils Saturday.

He had been sidelined for four weeks with a hand injury. Pock is not a fantasy asset and should not be considered for a roster spot in any hockey pool.

This is more of an FYI as Pock shouldn't be anywhere near your fantasy roster.

Thomas Pock will likely be hearing from the league after elbowing Ottawa forward Ryan Shannon in the head in Thursday's game.

"I didn't mean to hit him like that," he said. "I'm going to give him a call later. I feel bad about it. It was a bad play, that's all I can say about it." Senators' coach Craig Hartsburg said "(Jarkko Ruutu) got two games. I'm not sure what that's going to be worth." We will keep you posted.

The Islanders claimed defender Thomas Pock off waivers on Monday.

The Islanders are a little thin on their blueline with Chris Campoli and Andy Sutton out with undisclosed injuries. Pock played only one NHL game last season with the Rangers and only 59 in his career, but will get a long look with the team's injuries. Either way, Pock has no fantasy value.

Thomas Pock was placed on waivers by the New York Rangers.

If he is not claimed by another team by noon on Thursday, he will report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. He should not be on your fantasy roster.

Thomas Pock has been a healthy scratch for the Rangers five times already in this young NHL season.

He is projected to sit again on Thursday night against Atlanta. "I really don't know what my role is, to be honest with you," said a frustrated Pock. "I've done everything I can in practice. It's not something I can change. It's up to the coach." The spectacular play of rookie Marc Staal and the signing of physical defender Jason Strudwick have crowded the Rangers blueline. Coach Tom Renney said that Pock will get his opportunities to play this season and that he just needs to be patient.

Look for Thomas Pock to be scratched for game one of the second round to make room for the returning Karel Rachunek.

Someone has to sit, and Pock is the most likely candidate.

Defenseman Thomas Pock has registered six points in his last seven games including three goals in his last four.

For a player that has been offensively ineffective all season, he is starting to heat up. If you need a defenseman for the final few games, Pock is well worth a look.

Thomas Pock scored the biggest goal of his young career Saturday against the Bruins.

He notched the tying goal with just 1:40 left in the game forcing an overtime and shootout that the playoff-hopeful Rangers eventually won. Jaromir Jagr and Michael Nylander, who both scored in the shootout, assisted on Pock's merker. Marc Savard scored Boston's only goal in regulation time.

Rangers re-signed Thomas Pock to a contract on Thursday.

Terms were not disclosed. The 24-year-old had a fine season in the AHL in 2005/06, scoring 15 goals and 61 points in 67 games. He managed to play in eight contests with New York as well, posting one goal and two points during his time in the NHL. Right now, he does not project to be better than the sixth or seventh defenceman on the Rangers, so despite his offensive abilities, he is not someone to consider come draft day.
