David LeNeveu is happy to be a part of the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final.
"It's a dream come true. You grow up as a small town Canadian kid playing road hockey dreaming of this moment and now we're here," said LeNeveu, who is filling for an injured Cam Talbot as the team's backup goalie. "As a team we're playing for what we all dream for and we've got three guys in this room that have gone through this before and they've told us what it's like. We're just trying to enjoy every moment, but at the same time keep our focus and take advantage of this opportunity." He added that he's ready to step into game action if he's called upon, but for that to happen disaster would have to befall Henrik Lundqvist. Jun 7 - 5:49 PM

With Cameron Talbot (undisclosed) sidelined, David LeNeveu is projected to serve as the Rangers' backup goaltender on Wednesday.

That's got to be a thrill for LeNeveu, who is 31 years old and hasn't played in the NHL since 2010-11. Henrik Lundqvist will naturally play between the pipes.
Jun 4 - 6:07 PM

Look for David LeNeveu to serve as the New York Rangers' backup in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Cameron Talbot has now missed three straight practices due to an undisclosed injury. Leneveu is 31 and just has 22 games worth of NHL experience, so he's not an ideal choice, but something would have to go very wrong for the Rangers to take Henrik Lundqvist out of the net in the first place.

David LeNeveu has been assigned to AHL Hartford.

He served as Cam Talbot's backup on Tuesday against the New York Islanders after he signed with the Rangers earlier that day.
Jan 23 - 5:29 PM

David LeNeveu is on waivers.

David LeNeveu signed with the Rangers so that they would have a backup goaltender while Henrik Lundqvist was sick on Tuesday. Now that Lundqvist is feeling better, LeNeveu is expected to clear waivers and be sent to the minors.
Jan 22 - 1:43 PM

The New York Rangers have signed David LeNeveu.

LeNeveu will serve as the Rangers' backup goaltender on Tuesday because Henrik Lundqvist is sick. At the age of 30, LeNeveu should be regarded primarily as a minor league goaltender and we wouldn't expect his stint with the Rangers to last long.
Jan 21 - 5:01 PM

The Edmonton Oilers have cut seven players from their main roster including goaltender David LeNeveu.

Travis Ewanyk and Drew Czerwonka were sent back to their junior teams in the WHL while Cameron Abney, Mark Arcobello, Hunter Tremblay, and Johan Motin, along with LeNeveu have been sent to the Oilers AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City. None have any fantasy value.

David LeNeveu has agreed to terms with Edmonton's AHL franchise, the Oklahoma City Barons.

"Dave is an experienced goaltender who knows what it takes to win and he will provide leadership for our young team on and off the ice," said team GM Bill Scott. "Dave is a quality person and we look forward to having he and his family be a part of the team and community in Oklahoma City." He has compiled a 103-137-23 record with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 273 AHL games with Springfield, Utah, San Antonio and Hartford.

David LeNeveu made his season debut on Sunday.

LeNeveu replaced Mathieu Garon for the third period after Garon allowed four goals on 21 shots. LeNeveu didn't do much better, stopping 10 of 12 shots in a 6-1 loss to St. Louis. It was LeNeveu's first NHL game since November 24th, 2006.

David LeNeveu has been reassigned to the minors.

He was called up Monday on an emergency recall due to a groin injury to Steve Mason. Mason is expected to practice with the team on Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising if LeNeveu is back up with the team prior to Friday's game against Detroit.

The Blue Jackets have called up goaltender David LeNeveu from the minors on an emergency basis.

Columbus is carrying 24 players on their roster, which is one over the limit so they will have to return a player to the AHL on Wednesday or place someone on injured reserve. The recall carries a 48-hour exemption for a goalie, so they have some time. LeNeveu will help out Mathieu Garon in the Jackets' crease while Steve Mason recovers from a strained groin.
Mon, Jan 10, 2011 04:53:00 PM

David LeNeveu has been sent to AHL Springfield.

LeNeveu had to clear waivers before the Blue Jackets could demote him. Columbus carried three goaltenders for their trip to Europe, but they were never expected to keep LeNeveu on their roster beyond that point. He might get called up again if Steve Mason or Mathieu Garon sustain an injury.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have put David LeNeveu on waivers.

If LeNeveu clears waivers he will likely be sent down to the AHL. Teams no longer need three goaltenders on the roster because the games in Europe end this weekend.
