Jack Johnson is a plus-nine this season.
This is the first time in his career that Johnson is a plus-player but it is coming at a cost as he is not seeing any power play time as coach John Tortorella is using Zach Werenski and Seth Jones on the point, relegating Johnson and Ryan Murray to the bench with the man=advantage. "They’re not happy about it," Tortorella said. "Trust me, they’re not happy. But I think it’s a great lesson for our young players to look at them and how they’re handling it. "We split up for the (power play) meeting and there’s Jack and Murr, still in the dressing room. That’s hard, because I know they want to be a part of it. But it doesn’t affect how they come to work each day, and that’s a big for us." Johnson has five assists this season and has still been a force on the blueline. Dec 5 - 7:27 AM

Jack Johnson has reached a settlement in bankruptcy court with six of his eight creditors.

Johnson is expected to give most of his $5 million salary from the Blue Jackets this season and next year. He will be able to keep only a negotiated sum for "living expenses" of $246K. Johnson also had to liquidate two homes and a Ferrari valued at $125,000. On the ice, he has two assists in 12 games this campaign.
Nov 12 - 10:01 AM

Jack Johnson has an assist in 10 games this season.

Johnson reached the 40-point mark in 2014-15, but he dropped to 14 points last season and so far it doesn't look like he'll regain his scoring touch in 2016-17. He remains a big part of the Blue Jackets as he's averaging 21:48 minutes per game, but his value to standard league fantasy owners might not be there anymore. That being said, it is still early in the campaign, so there's still a chance he'll bounce back.
Nov 6 - 9:06 AM

Jack Johnson said his surgically-repaired shoulder feels 100 percent.

He sat out the last 20 games of the regular season due to the injury. Johnson is preparing to compete in the World Cup of Hockey with Team USA in September now that his rehab is out of the way.
Aug 10 - 11:08 AM

Jack Johnson was added to Team USA's roster for the World Cup of Hockey in September.

He wasn't included on the 2014 Olympic roster, but he has represented the United States at several other tournaments including the Winter Games in 2010 as well as five World Championships. Johnson's season ended in March because of shoulder surgery, but he should be ready in time for the Word Cup.
May 28 - 2:35 PM

Jack Johnson has undergone shoulder surgery.

Johnson will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign, which admittedly doesn't tell us much about his timetable given how little is left of the season. Johnson will finish with six goals and 14 points in 60 contests in 2015-16, which represents a steep decline after he recorded 40 points in 2014-15.
Mar 16 - 11:53 AM

Jack Johnson (upper body) will miss Friday's game.

It will be Johnson's sixth straight absence. Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella described him as being "a distance away right now."
Mar 11 - 10:51 AM

Jack Johnson (upper body) will sit for a fifth consecutive game on Tuesday.

He hasn't played since Feb. 25, but said the injury originally occurred before that. "It's something I've been dealing with for a while," Johnson said. He is hopeful that he will play again before the end of the regular season. Johnson participated in the Jackets' optional skate Tuesday after he was on the ice on his own Monday.
Mar 8 - 4:32 PM

There is currently no timetable for the return of Jack Johnson (upper body) to the lineup.

It was thought that Johnson would be out a couple of weeks when diagnosed over a week ago but it appears that diagnosis has gone out the window. Johnson has not had a great offensive season with six goals and 14 points in 60 games but coach John Tortorella thinks that Johnson will return before the end of the season.
Mar 5 - 8:08 AM

Jack Johnson (upper body) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Columbus expects Johnson to miss two weeks due to an injury he sustained during Thursday's game. He has six goals and 14 points in 60 contests this season.
Feb 26 - 5:25 PM

Jack Johnson sustained an upper-body injury during Thursday's contest.

It's not clear how he sustained the injury, but it sounds like it's a significant one. He's out indefinitely and the Blue Jackets are expected to summon someone Friday afternoon to help fill the void.
Feb 26 - 10:42 AM

Jack Johnson was credited with six blocked shots in Columbus' 2-1 win over Calgary Friday night.

Johnson's efforts didn't go unnoticed by Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella. "I watched Jack Johnson, when we're killing the penalty there in the third period, make two huge blocks," the bench boss said. Johnson has been limited to 14 points in 52 contests this season, but he's also second on the team with 88 blocks.
Feb 6 - 4:30 AM

Jack Johnson recorded an assist in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders Tuesday night.

Coming off of a 40-point campaign, Johnson has taken a step back so far this season with five goals and 13 points in 42 contests. That being said, he has done far better lately as he has five points in his last five games.
Jan 13 - 6:26 AM

Jack Johnson (upper body) is good to return on Monday.

Johnson was out for two straight contests. He has three goals and five assists in 33 games this season.
