Jack Johnson led all players in ice time once again as he played 26:49 minutes in a 3-1 loss on Saturday to Pittsburgh.

Johnson has been a workhorse in the playoffs which included a 38:21 minute game in Game 2 which went into double overtime. "I don't think there is a (ceiling)," coach Todd Richards said. "Jack's ceiling is outside somewhere. It is impressive the minutes that he's been able to log. And he's playing tough minutes. They aren't easy. He's playing against great players, world-class players, and he's able to do it over and over again." Johnson has three goals and five points in five playoff games this post-season.
Apr 27 - 7:32 AM

Jack Johnson tied an NHL record for defensemen by scoring a goal in three straight contests to start the playoffs.

Johnson is already approaching his regular season goal total of five in 82 games. He'll slow down of course, but he's been one of the Blue Jackets' top offensive contributors so far.
Apr 22 - 12:09 PM

Jack Johnson scored his third goal of the postseason Monday, however the Blue Jackets dropped a 4-3 decision to Pittsburgh in Game 3 of their opening round playoff series.

The maligned blueliner has been a bright spot for the Jackets this postseason by scoring a goal in each of the team's three playoff contests. Cam Atkinson and Boone Jenner also scored for Columbus in the defeat, which dropped them into a 2-1 series hole.
Apr 21 - 9:59 PM

Jack Johnson tied Saturday's game at three with his second goal in as many games.

Johnson has three points in two games thus far and has led the Blue Jackets blueliners offensively thus far. His goal sent the game into overtime where Columbus eventually won in the second OT on a goal by Matt Calvert. Johnson led all players as he saw 38:21 minutes of ice time in the double overtime win.
Apr 20 - 7:20 AM

Jack Johnson scored a goal and added an assist for the Blue Jackets in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh in Game 1 of their first round playoff series.

Johnson suffered through a subpar regular season that saw him get left off the U.S. Olympic Team, but he has an opportunity to erase his difficulties from memory with a strong playoff. Mark Letestu and Derek MacKenzie also found the back of the net for Columbus in the losing effort.
Apr 16 - 10:56 PM

Jack Johnson has a goal and 11 points in his last nine home games.

Johnson has only four goals and 25 points in 60 games this season so his recent scoring prowess at home is a bit of surprise. Continue to start Johnson in fantasy pools, especially when he plays at Nationwide Arena.
Mar 2 - 6:52 AM

Jack Johnson collected three assists to give Columbus a 6-3 victory against Florida on Saturday afternoon.

He assisted on power-play goals by R.J. Umberger and Cam Atkinson in the first period and he picked up his third helper on an empty netter from Matt Calvert. Nick Foligno, David Savard and Artem Anisimov also scored for the Blue Jackets in the contest.
Mar 1 - 5:12 PM

Jack Johnson had an assist in Columbus' 5-2 defeat on Thursday.

Johnson got off to a slow start this season, but he hasn't been held off the scoresheet in more than back-to-back contests since Jan. 2-10. It looks like even the Olympic break didn't cool him off.
Feb 28 - 9:46 AM

Jack Johnson scored a lone goal in Columbus' 2-1 overtime loss to Los Angeles Thursday night.

Johnson now has four goals and 17 assists in 57 games this season. Ryan Johansen and James Wisniewski assisted on the lone goal.
Feb 7 - 3:17 AM

Jack Johnson has been tearing it up lately, oddly enough, with seven points and a +6 rating in his last six games.

Johnson has struggled through most of the season up until now, demonstrated by the 27 year-old being left off the U.S. Olympic team. He seems to have turned a corner though, having recorded an even or positive rating in each of his last eight games.
Jan 24 - 7:35 PM

Jack Johnson enjoyed a rare strong performance with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over the Lightning on Monday.

Johnson has been suffering through his worst NHL season with just 12 points in 45 contests entering Monday's action, but this outing is a step in the right direction. Nathan Horton also picked up a goal and an assist in the win while Ryan Johansen was the other Columbus goal scorer on the night.
Jan 13 - 9:43 PM

Jack Johnson is staying upbeat despite the Blue Jackets' struggles this season.

Columbus hasn't been able to get a real streak going - good or bad - in over a month. However, they have a 10-14-3 record, which puts them five points back in the playoff race. "We're still right there," Johnson argued. "I've learned that usually after the All-Star break – this year it’s the Olympic break – the season gets ratcheted up a little bit, so you have to make sure you're in a good spot for that final sprint." They certainly still have a very real shot, but they can't afford to slip too much further if they're hoping to stage a comeback following the Olympic break. They will play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday

Jack Johnson and Artem Anisimov each finished a minus-three in Columbus' 3-0 lost to the Penguins on Saturday night.

Johnson, who also had four hits and a shot on goal, is a solid blueliner but he's typically not been much of an asset in the plus/minus department. Anisimov, who had two hits and two shots on goal, has a career plus-10 rating, as he's pretty good defensively and away from the puck. It was a very uninspired performance all around for the Blue Jackets.

Jack Johnson tallied a power-play goal in Columbus' 3-1 loss to Boston on Saturday in a matinee contest.

Unfortunately, he was also a minus-3 in the match. Both of Johnson's goals have come with the man advantage this season. James Wisniewski and Marian Gaborik picked up assists in the loss.
