Jack Johnson was minus-two on Friday and is now an NHL worst minus-18.
It's been a tough year for the defenseman who had to file for bankruptcy on October 7 after his parents allegedly took advantage of him after Johnson gave them power over his finances. Johnson does have a goal and nine points with 12 penalty minutes but his plus/minus kills all his fantasy value, if you play the category in your pool. Sat, Nov 29, 2014 07:19:00 AM

Jack Johnson scored once and received huge cheers from the Columbus crowd on Friday.

Johnson's plight has been revealed in the last few days as he was forced to file for bankruptcy after giving his parents power over his finances and having his parents allegedly taking advantage of the situation by taking out a series of loans that turned so bad, Johnson had only $50,000 worth of assets and $10 million-plus of debt. We wish him the best of luck.

Jack Johnson filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 7.

Johnson reportedly had given his parents power over his finances and they took advantage of the situation by taking out a series of loans against his contract and used it to purchase cars for themselves, a house, and other things. It got so bad that Johnson reportedly had more than $10 million in debt and had assets of less than $50,000. "I'd say I picked the wrong people who led me down the wrong path," Johnson said. "I've got people in place who are going to fix everything now. It's something I should have done a long time ago."

Jack Johnson has finished serving his three-game suspension.

He was able to use the time off to rest a couple of bumps and bruises. Johnson was suspended for an illegal check to the head of Carolina's Jiri Tlusty earlier this month. He will be back in the lineup for Friday's match against Philadelphia.

Jack Johnson has been suspended for three games for his high hit on Carolina's Jiri Tlusty.

The NHL ruled that Johnson's hit was not late, but he did make the head the principal point of contact. Tlusty suffered an upper-body injury as a result of the hit. Johnson doesn't have a suspension history though, which likely worked in his favor. He will be eligible to return on Nov. 14.

"Jack's ceiling is outside somewhere. It is impressive the minutes that he's been able to log. And he's playing tough minutes. They aren't easy. He's playing against great players, world-class players, and he's able to do it over and over again." Johnson has three goals and five points in five playoff games this post-season.

Jack Johnson scored a goal and added an assist for the Blue Jackets in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh in Game 1 of their first round playoff series.

Johnson suffered through a subpar regular season that saw him get left off the U.S. Olympic Team, but he has an opportunity to erase his difficulties from memory with a strong playoff. Mark Letestu and Derek MacKenzie also found the back of the net for Columbus in the losing effort.
