Jack Skille still isn't taking anything for granted.

"Nothing's guaranteed and I'm not expecting it to be guaranteed and I'm not looking for someone to give me a pat on the back and say, 'You're good, you're safe,' because I know I'm not safe," he said. "I'm never going to be safe. And I'm going to keep playing that way." Skille earned a two-way contract with the Avalanche after attending camp on a professional tryout. He skated alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog earlier this week and he was playing with Matt Duchene and Landeskog during Thursday's win over Tampa Bay. Skille has played up and down the lineup and he has three points in nine games, so he's right to play every game like it could be his last.

Jack Skille scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Columbus.

Skille opened the scoring in the game, but it wasn't enough to earn his team the win. The 28-year-old has two goals and three points in seven games this season. He sees most of his ice time on the fourth line and won't be a viable fantasy option going forward.
