Devin Setoguchi says he's feeling great after a rough year.
Setoguchi went to rehab for his drinking problem and has now been sober for five months. "It’s been a real long road, but I’m feeling great, the best I’ve felt in a long time," said Setoguchi. "I’ve got a lot of clarity of eye-opening stuff that happened. Just getting married and having the best day of my life in a while ... it feels good and I’m going into camp with a clear head. I’m feeling really special." Setoguchi will attend Toronto's training camp on a pro tryout, but he is far from guaranteed a spot on the roster. It would be a nice story if he was able to stick in the NHL in 2015-16. Aug 30 - 9:35 AM

Devin Setoguchi will attend Toronto's training camp on a professional tryout.

There was some talk about Setoguchi joining the Leafs for camp earlier this month, but now we finally have something more concrete on the matter. He appeared in 12 games with the Calgary Flames last season and he didn't record a point. Setoguchi also dressed in 19 AHL outings with Adirondack, where he had 10 points.

Devin Setoguchi has been assigned to the minors.

He cleared waivers on Thursday and he'll head to Adirondack of the AHL. If he start producing in the minors then he may get another look with the big club. Setoguchi didn't have a point in 12 contests prior to his demotion.

Even if Devin Setoguchi clears waivers, he might not be sent to the minors.

Although Setoguchi hasn't been able to earn a regular spot with Calgary, Flames coach Bob Hartley has been impressed by him in some respects. "I have to give him lots of credit because his buy-in has been unbelievable," Hartley said. "He committed to us from Day 1 of camp. For a coach, I was happy, I was really happy with his commitment." Flames GM Brad Treliving agreed that Setoguchi is putting in a good effort, but he wants to see Setoguchi regain his scoring confidence.

Devin Setoguchi is expected to be a healthy scratch in Calgary's game against Chicago.

The 27-year-old's play has dropped significantly in the last few seasons. He has no points in 11 games this season.

Look for Devin Setoguchi and Brandon Bollig to return to the Calgary lineup on Saturday.

Both were healthy scratches on Thursday but both also saw fourth line duty at practice on Friday. Setoguchi is pointless in 10 games this season with a minus-seven rating. If he is on your fantasy roster then we would suggest taking up a new hobby.

Devin Setoguchi suffered an upper body injury versus Florida on Saturday and did not return.

Setoguchi played only 5:57 minutes and will be re-evaluated Sunday. If he is on your roster for some reason, now is a good time to release him or at least put him on reserve as he has no points in nine games with a minus-five rating.

No official word from the Calgary Flames at this time, but it sounds like Devin Setoguchi suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's 6-4 win against the Florida Panthers.

Setoguchi's been a bit of a disappointment for some time now, yet there's the feeling that he has the potential to put it together again (maybe just for short stretches). It's unclear if it's a serious enough issue to sideline the winger.

Devin Setoguchi will draw back into the Flames' lineup on Friday.

Setoguchi has spent four straight games in the press box. He's projected to play alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Markus Granlund. The Flames are missing a few forwards due to injuries, so this is a good opportunity for Setoguchi to earn a regular spot in the Flames' lineup.

Devin Setoguchi is thankful to get a fresh start in Calgary after he signed with the team over the weekend.

"It's been a long summer," he said. "It's not easy sitting there and being one of the only free agents out there. I'm just thankful I got it done. It's going to give me a chance to prove a lot to myself and to the team I'm joining that I can still play and be a leader." Setoguchi will be looking to bounce back from a difficult season as a member of the Jets. In 2013-14, he recorded just 11 goals and 27 points in 75 games.

Devin Setoguchi signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

The 27 year-old Alberta native struggled last season with Winnipeg, managing just 27 points in 75 games to go along with a -5 rating. The six-foot, 205 pound winger soared to success in 2009 with a 65 point campaign with San Jose, but has failed to exceed 41 points in the five years and three teams since then. With a short-term, home-province contract, the former 8th overall pick from 2005 could cash in as a 28 year-old UFA if he revives his career this season with a group of young, dynamic Flames forwards.
