Martin Hanzal scored 1:16 minutes into overtime to lift the Arizona Coyotes to a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

The Coyotes must have been feeling a little shell-shocked as they entered their third consecutive overtime. They lost to the Flames Wednesday night and the Canucks on Thursday in those two contests on the back of two regulation losses. This was Hanzal’s third goal of the season and his first since October 27th in a 5-4 victory over the Flyers.
Nov 19 - 11:34 PM

Coach Dave Tippett has confirmed that Martin Hanzal will return to the lineup on Wednesday night.

He has missed the last five games because of a lower-body ailment. Hanzal has two goals and two assists in nine appearances this season.
Nov 16 - 1:52 PM

Hanzal has missed the Coyotes' last five games, but it looks like he'll be in the lineup on Wednesday. He has two goals and four points in nine games this season.
Nov 15 - 4:09 PM

Coach Dave Tippett is hoping that Martin Hanzal (lower body) will be back in the Coyotes lineup Wednesday.

Hanzal has been out of action since November 1 so a return will mean a two-week absence. Hanzal has only four points in nine games thus far but the injury-prone center is capable of doing better. Hanzal should get 40 points in 65 games this season as he will likely be hurt at least once more.
Nov 13 - 6:22 AM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) skated for 30 minutes Friday, but he won't play Saturday night versus Boston.

"He's moving the right direction," coach Dave Tippett said. Hanzal has been sidelined since Nov. 1 due to a lower-body ailment.
Nov 12 - 10:42 AM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) might resume skating on Friday, per Coyotes coach Dave Tippett.

Hanzal has missed three straight games due to the injury. He'll be out for a fourth on Thursday and we'd also be a little surprised if he's ready in time for Saturday's contest.
Nov 10 - 10:16 AM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) didn't participate in Monday's practice.

As previously reported, Hanzal was also moved to the injured reserve list on Monday. He won't play on Tuesday and given that he hasn't started practicing yet, we don't imagine that his return as imminent.
Nov 8 - 7:32 AM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve.

He has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Colorado. Hanzal hasn't played since Nov. 1 because of a lower-body injury.
Nov 7 - 12:22 PM

It will be Hanzal's third straight game on the sidelines. He hasn't started skating yet, but Coyotes coach Dave Tippett is hoping that he'll be able to resume skating this week.
Nov 7 - 8:44 AM

Coach Dave Tippett is skeptical that Martin Hanzal will play in Tuesday's match against Colorado.

He's still considered day-to-day. Through nine games the veteran center has two goals and four points with 18 hits. The Coyotes will play again on Thursday when they host the Jets.
Nov 6 - 2:32 PM

Martin Hanzal (LBI) didn't travel with the team for Friday's match in Anaheim, and so will not play.

Hanzal has four points in nine games so far this season with eight blocks and 18 hits. Quite the start for the veteran centerman. The Coyotes' next game will be on Tuesday in Colorado, though it's unclear if he'll make the trip. We'd hedge against it.
Nov 4 - 7:48 PM

Martin Hanzal won't play Thursday because of a lower-body injury.

He will join defenseman Michael Stone on the sidelines when the Coyotes play against Nashville. Hanzal didn't skate in the morning and he is listed as day-to-day for now. He was getting more tests done, but probably won't be in the lineup on Friday either according to coach Dave Tippett.
Nov 3 - 3:14 PM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) hasn't been ruled out for Thursday's game against Nashville yet.

He underwent tests on Wednesday to determine his status. If Hanzal can't play Thursday then the Coyotes will need to bring someone up from the minors.
Nov 2 - 4:23 PM

Martin Hanzal apparently sustained his lower-body injury prior to Tuesday's contest.

Hanzal attempted to play with the injury, but after participating in the first period he said he couldn't complete the game. He's day-to-day at this time.
