Martin Hanzal says he is fully recovered from back surgery.
Hanzal played in 37 games last season because of a chronic back injury. "I feel great, better than ever," Hanzal said. "For sure I feel really good and really strong, and I'm glad to be on the ice with the boys and trying to enjoy the camp." Hanzal had eight goals and 24 points last season. He’s worth a look in deeper leagues after recording 15 goals and 40 points in 65 games in 2013-14. Sep 19 - 11:02 PM

Martin Hanzal is on track in his recovery from back surgery.

He hasn't been skating and he won't play again this season, but he's been making progress in his off-ice workouts. Hanzal had 24 points in 37 games this year and he's been sidelined since Jan. 29.
Mar 30 - 3:32 PM

Martin Hanzal (back) won't return to the Coyotes lineup.

The 28-year-old will finish the 2014-15 season with eight goals and 24 points in 37 games this season. The news is disappointing but the Coyotes are so far out of the playoff picture that it's probably better for Hanzal to take his time with this injury.
Mar 1 - 6:29 PM

Coach Dave Tippett says that he thinks that Martin Hanzal (back surgery) will be ready for training camp in September.

There is still a tiny hope that he will be able to return before the end of the regular season but that is unlikely and really not a smart move as the Coyotes are not going to the playoffs. Hanzal has eight goals and 24 points in 37 games. He is a worthwhile addition next season, especially in daily transaction pools where you can take him out of the lineup when he gets one of his numerous injuries.
Feb 22 - 5:55 AM

Martin Hanzal had successful back surgery on Tuesday.

Hanzal last played on Jan. 29 and probably won't return before the end of the campaign. He has eight goals and 24 points in 37 contests in 2014-15.
Feb 19 - 9:52 AM

Martin Hanzal will undergo back surgery next week and he's unlikely to play again this season.

He hasn't played since Jan. 29 and he's appeared in just 37 games this campaign. Hanzal, who had eight goals, 24 points and 105 hits, was rumored to be a highly sought-after commodity in the trade market, but his injury may put an end to that interest.
Feb 12 - 3:14 PM

Martin Hanzal (upper body) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Hanzal has already been sidelined for five games and is eligible to be activated whenever the Coyotes want. So this move is about freeing up a roster spot rather than a hint of his timetable. That being said, Hanzal is still undergoing tests and shouldn't be counted on to return in the near future.
Feb 9 - 4:47 AM

Martin Hanzal won't travel on Arizona's upcoming two-game road trip.

Hanzal has missed the Coyotes last five games because of an upper-body injury. It's unclear when the 27-year-old will be able to make a return to the lineup. He has eight goals and 24 points in 37 games this season.
Feb 8 - 1:30 PM

Martin Hanzal (upper body) is still more than a week away from returning to action according to coach Dave Tippett.

The oft-injured center has been a force when in the lineup but has played only 37 games this season, scoring eight and assisting on 16 others. Just an update in case you own him in your pool.
Feb 8 - 7:51 AM

Martin Hanzal has headed back to Arizona early to have his upper-body injury examined.

Hanzal has already missed two contests due to the ailment and he'll be out a third on Tuesday. He has eight goals and 24 points in 37 contests this season.
Feb 3 - 8:28 AM

Coyotes' head coach Dave Tippett confirmed that Martin Hanzel won't be available for Tuesday's game in Columbus.

The 27-year-old has missed Arizona's last two games because of an upper-body injury. He has eight goals and 24 points in 37 games this season. He should be considered day-to-day at this point.
Feb 1 - 4:28 PM

Martin Hanzal (upper body) is questionable for Sunday's game in Montreal.

Hanzal missed Saturday's game in Ottawa and will be a game time decision in the afternoon contest. Hanzal is a much better fantasy own in daily transaction leagues as he gets hurt way too much to be effective in weekly transaction pools. He has 24 points, 31 penalty minutes, 85 shots on goal and 105 hits in 37 games this season.
Feb 1 - 6:19 AM

The Arizona Coyotes announced that Martin Hanzal won't play on Saturday because of an upper-body injury.

Hanzal is considered day-to-day. Hanzal has 24 points, 31 PIMs, 85 SOG and 105 hits in 37 games so far this season. Injuries have been a snag for him for some time, which maybe shouldn't be surprising considering the towering center's rough style.
Jan 31 - 3:05 PM

Martin Hanzal scored a goal in a 3-1 victory over Toronto.

Hanzal has now found the back of the net eight times this season and three of those have been game-winning markers. He also has 16 assists in 37 contests in 2014-15.
Jan 30 - 10:33 AM

Martin Hanzal made his return from an upper body injury on Thursday night, collecting eight hits and two minor penalties in Arizona's 4-1 loss to Calgary.

Hanzal, who hadn't played since Jan. 3rd, was a wrecking ball out there during his 17:14 of ice time. He now has 29 PIMs and 94 hits on the season, his hits are good for third on the team behind Michael Stone and Shane Doan. Combine that with Hanzal's seven goal and 22 points, he's a quality depth player that rewards hits and PIMs as well.
