Martin Hanzal suffered a lower-body injury Saturday night against the Blues.

Oct 19 - 1:02 AM

Martin Hanzal had two assists in Arizona's 7-4 victory over Edmonton.

That gives Hanzal a goal and three points in three games. That's a solid start for him, but at the end of the day, we're projecting that he'll get around 40 points. It's also worth noting that the Coyotes have enjoyed blowouts against the lowly Jets and Oilers so far this season, which has skewed a lot of their player's numbers.
Oct 16 - 7:47 AM

Martin Hanzal scored a goal in Arizona's 6-2 loss to Winnipeg.

Oct 10 - 10:11 AM

Martin Hanzal will have to get used to a new linemate now that Radim Vrbata is playing with the Vancouver Canucks.

Hanzal played alongside Max Domi and Henrik Samuelsson during Monday's preseason contest and the results were encouraging. Hanzal had two goals and an assist with the three players each getting a point on all three markers. "I put that line on paper a long time ago in the summer," coach Dave Tippett said. "I was itching to try it. We'll see. Samuelsson has great hands and can be a shooter. Domi's a good passer. Hanz is a guy that goes to the net hard. They got a couple breaks on some pucks tonight, but they were an effective line."
Sep 23 - 9:05 AM

Martin Hanzal scored a pair of goals for the Arizona Coyotes Monday night as they defeated the Kings in a shootout by a score of 5-4 in one of two split-squad preseason contests.

Perennially underrated, Hanzal's biggest career obstacle has been his inability to play a full season, but he showed some chemistry playing with linemates Max Domi and Henrik Samuelsson in this outing. Sam Gagner also found the back of the net in his first game as a member of the Coyotes. Mike Smith played the entire contest in goal and stopped 29 of 33 shots the get credit for a victory.
Sep 23 - 3:17 AM

Injuries have limited Martin Hanzal over the last four campaigns.

Hanzal hasn't played in more than 65 games in a single season over that stretch. "He's a good player when he's a hard, heavy player," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "That's who he has to be. If he doesn't play that way, he's not nearly as effective a player. We expect him to play hard, committed all the time. You just hope that the injury factor doesn't come into play." At this point though, you have to assume that injuries will be a factor when evaluating his potential for the 2014-15 campaign.
Apr 18 - 10:21 AM

Martin Hanzal skated on Saturday but is not expected to play on Sunday as he recovers from a lower body injury.

Apr 12 - 12:37 PM

Martin Hanzal (lower body) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Columbus.

Hanzal suffered the injury on Friday in Edmonton. While he hit the 40 point mark on March 26 with an assist, Hanzal is in a goal scoring slump as he has not found the back of the net in the last 12 games. He has not skated since the injury so his status will likely be up in the air until game time.
