Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch Sunday.

Coach Mike Babcock didn't explain why Kindl saw just 9:13 of ice time in Friday's 4-1 win over Chicago or why he watched Sunday's loss to Montreal from the press box. Brian Lashoff played in Kindl's place.
Nov 17 - 7:14 AM

Jakub Kindl is playing very well on Detroit's second power-play unit.

Kindl didn't get any ice time when the Wings had the man advantage during October but he has played on the power play the last two games and has scored twice and added an assist. Detroit coach Mike Babcock seems to be willing to give Kindl an extended chance to play on the team's PP so long as he produces. "It's good for him," Babcock said. "It's an opportunity for him to grab ice time. We put him back on the power play. It's basically up to him, and if he plays well, you get more, and if you don't, you get less." Kindl could make a nice short-term fantasy pickup. Who knows, he may even have some long-term value.
Nov 8 - 10:08 AM

Defenseman Jakub Kindl scored his first goal of the season as he and the Red Wings took a 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers in New York Wednesday night.

Kindl also produced his second assist of the season, on a goal by Tomas Tartar (his fourth). Daniel Cleary also scored his first goal of the season for the Wings.
Nov 5 - 11:05 PM

Defenseman Jakub Kindl will play for his native Czech Republic at the World Championships which get underway on May 9.

Kindl will play against fellow Detroit teammates Danny DeKeyser(USA), Justin Abdelkader (USA), Gustav Nyquist (Sweden) and Tomas Tatar (Slovakia) in Belarus. Kindl had two goals and 19 points in 66 games this season.
May 3 - 6:52 AM

Jakub Kindl recorded two assists in Detroit's 4-2 victory Saturday night.

Kindl has only managed to contribute offensively in two contests since Dec. 1, but in both cases he had a multi-point night. The defenseman has a goal and 15 points in 58 games this season.
Mar 30 - 10:09 AM

Jakub Kindl (knee) will return to the Red Wings' lineup on Friday.

Kindl has been sidelined since Feb. 3. He has a goal and 11 points in 50 contests in 2013-14.
Mar 7 - 12:27 PM

Jakub Kindl (knee) might be healthy enough to play, but he won't yet.

Kindl has been practicing, but with the Red Wings clicking, coach Mike Babcock isn't eager to make a change. Kindl has a goal and 11 points in 50 games this season.
Mar 2 - 9:50 AM

Jakub Kindl (knee) won't be available to play on Wednesday and Thursday.

Kindl is still getting over a knee sprain, which sidelined him for two games before the Olympic break.
Feb 26 - 8:57 AM

Feb 6 - 2:00 PM

Jakub Kindl won't play Thursday because of a lower-body injury.

He didn't skate on Wednesday because of the ailment. If Pavel Datsyuk is able to return on Thursday then Kindl is expected to be placed on injured reserve.
Feb 6 - 11:30 AM

Jakub Kindl got a chance to play Friday night after being a healthy scratch for Detroit's previous four games.

He replaced Brian Lashoff in the Red Wing lineup and seemed to do a decent job in 19:08 of ice time. Kindl was plus one and had three shots on goal. In order to stay in the lineup, Kindl is going to have up his defensive game. "When you're perceived as an offensive guy, you have to be an offensive guy, but in order to be an offensive guy, you can't play in your own zone," Detroit coach Mike Babcock said. "That's the big challenge for him. He’s really improved over the years and we think he can help our power play." For now, keep Kindl on your watch list.
Feb 1 - 10:22 AM

Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch Friday night against Montreal.

It was the second consecutive game Kindl has sat in the press box. He looks to have lost his job to Dan DeKeyser. Needless to say, Kindl should not be in your lineup.
Jan 25 - 11:34 AM

Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch on Saturday with the return of Dan DeKeyser to the Detroit lineup.

Kindl has a poor plus/minus at minus-10 and that could have been the reason he was in the press box for the first time this season. He has a goal and 10 points in 37 games which is not bad production for a defenseman but his fantasy value is low because of his plus/minus.
