Kindl has already been removed from the injured reserve list, per the team's website. However, he's not expected to rejoin the lineup in the immediate future. For now Xavier Ouellet will continue to play.

Kindl has been in and out of the Wings lineup over the last few weeks, but will be forced to miss Monday's game in Boston due to an elbow injury sustained Sunday in practice. In 28 games played this season, the defenseman has two goals and seven assists. Brian Lashoff will take his spot on the blue line Monday night.

Jakub Kindl was back in Detroit's lineup on Sunday against Colorado.

He was a healthy scratch in the Red Wings' last three games and four of the last six. Kindl got a chance to play after Xavier Ouellet was returned to the minors, so that Detroit could call up backup goalie Tom McCollum. He logged 18:16 of ice time and registered three shots on goal in a 2-1 shootout loss.

Jakub Kindl will draw back into the Detroit lineup Wednesday to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After being a healthy scratch Sunday at Carolina, Kindl will take Brian Lashoff's spot on defense to take on the rival Leafs. Kindl has been relatively productive from the blue line this year with two goals and five assists in 23 games played. Coach Babcock plans to play Kindl alongside Brendan Smith.

He has been a healthy scratch for the past four games and coach Mike Babcock was clear with what he expects. "Just flat-out compete," the Red Wings bench boss said. "Go back, get pucks, make plays, compete. That's all part of being a good teammate, being competitive, being ultra-competitive, being good to help your team win." Kindl will replace Brian Lashoff in the lineup.

Coach Mike Babcock didn't explain why Kindl saw just 9:13 of ice time in Friday's 4-1 win over Chicago or why he watched Sunday's loss to Montreal from the press box. Brian Lashoff played in Kindl's place.
