Detroit defenseman Jakub Kindl, who has been a healthy scratch in each of the six games in the Eastern Conference First Round series against the Lightning, likely will make his 2015 playoff debut in Game 7 in Tampa Bay Wednesday night.

Kindl, who produced 13 points in 35 games during the regular season, would take the place of Niklas Kronwall, who was suspended for one game Tuesday for his hit on Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov. Kindl has one goal and five points in 18 NHL playoff games with the Red Wings. The Wings have another option - defensemen Alexey Marchenko. He was scratched in Game 6 but played in Games 1 and 2. Marchenko is a rookie.
Apr 28 - 10:13 PM

Defensemen Jakub Kindl and Alexey Marchenko will be healthy scratches Monday night for Game 6 versus Tampa Bay.

Kindl has not been able to crack the Wings lineup during their series with the Lightning and will continue to be a healthy scratch. He was able to score five goals with eight assists during 35 regular season games. Marchenko played in Games 1 and 2 but recorded a minus three rating and has now found himself watching from the press box.
Apr 27 - 5:38 PM

Jakub Kindl, Daniel Cleary and Tomas Jurco will all be healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Montreal.

Kindl and Cleary have been regulars in the press box. Jurco has been dealing with an injury, but beat reporter Ansar Khan lists him as a healthy scratch. Neither of these three players has any fantasy value going forward. Kindl has five goals and 13 points in 34 games this season.
Apr 9 - 7:04 PM

Jakub Kindl and Daniel Cleary will be scratched against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, neither player owns much fantasy value. Kindl has seen just one game since the end of February. While Cleary has seen just 16 games overall. Regardless of talent level, if the player doesn't play, he doesn't have value for your squad.

Jakub Kindl will be scratched against the Washington Capitals on Sunday evening.

Jakub Kindl and Daniel Cleary will be scratched against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.

While Kindl's 13 points, 20 PIMs, 25 blocks and 29 hits over 34 games this season looks pretty good, he's only played 10 games since Dec. 12th. Cleary's fantasy value suffers from a similar bout of scratches, with just 15 games played this season.

Jakub Kindl will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins.

The 28-year-old has five goals, 13 points and a plus-2 rating in 34 games this season.
Apr 2 - 7:18 PM

Jakub Kindl and Daniel Cleary were scratched from Sunday's tilt with the NY Islanders.

Unfortunately, neither player boasts much fantasy value this season. Kindl has produced 13 points, 25 blocks, and 29 hits through 34 games. Meanwhile Cleary has seen just 13 games, and just three since the calendar turned to 2015.
Mar 29 - 5:36 PM

Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch Thursday because of the return of Niklas Kronwall.

He got to play on Tuesday night for the first time since Feb. 28 due to Kronwall's absence. Even though he registered a goal and an assist in the match, he returned to the press box.
Mar 27 - 9:39 AM

Jakub Kindl picked up a goal and an assist as Niklas Kronwall's replacement during Tuesday night's 5-4 overtime loss.

It was perhaps Kindl's best game of the season as he was a dominant force while skating 16:18. His goal came after he called for the puck, a bold move, tying the game at three early in the third. And his assist, which came on the power play, was on a connected rink-long pass right to Justin Abdelkader in the second. Kindl now has five goals and 13 points through 34 games this season.
Mar 25 - 2:43 AM

Jakub Kindl and Daniel Cleary will both be scratched again on Monday night versus the Oilers.

Kindl had been a mainstay on the Detroit blue line, but since the acquisition of Marek Zidlicky, he's been held out of the lineup more regularly. He’s played in 33 games on the year, picking up four goals and seven assists. Cleary, on the other hand, has played in just 13 games this season and has only dressed in one game for the Wings since January 27th. He has a goal and an assist and neither player carries any fantasy value.
Mar 9 - 7:04 PM

Jakub Kindl and Dan Cleary were scratched against the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Unfortunately, neither have much of any fantasy value. Kindl has produced just 11 points, 20 PIMs, 24 blocks, and 28 hits through 33 games this season. While Cleary has put up just two points and 17 hits during his 13 games this season.

Mar 6 - 7:09 PM

Jakub Kindl is expected to be a healthy scratch in Wednesday’s contest with the Rangers.

With Kyle Quincey returning to the Wings lineup, Kindl will be the odd man out on the blue line. The former 19th overall pick in the 2005 NHL draft has recorded four goals and 11 points in 33 games this season and if he's not dressing on a regular basis, he's not worthy of a fantasy spot on your roster.
Mar 4 - 5:24 PM

Jakub Kindl scored two goals in Saturday's 7-6 overtime win over Dallas.

Kindl had just two goals on the season coming into this game. Both of his goals were scored in the third period and they were actually just 45 seconds apart. The 28-year-old has 11 points in 29 games this season. Offensive performances like this aren't common for Kindl, who couldn't even remember the last time he scored twice in a game. "Probably back in junior I would say, in the OHL. It's been a while," Kindl said. "We just said to each other on the bench they scored a couple of quick goals and we can do the same thing."
