Felix Potvin, who stopped 33 shots to shutout the Islanders last night, may be traded to Colorado, reports the Boston Herald.

He would be a more secure backup for starter David Aebischer than Philippe Sauve is at the moment. The Bruins would then promote a goalie from Providence to backup starter Andrew Raycroft. No word on who the Bruins covet off the Avalanche roster. Stay tuned.

Felix Potvin will not dress this evening against Buffalo due to a sprained knee, reports the Boston Globe.

He sustained the injury in Tuesday's game against Atlanta, but should be healthy enough to return to action right after the All-Star break. Tim Thomas was recalled from Providence to back up Andrew Raycroft tonight.

The Boston Globe is reporting that there is a very good chance that Felix Potvin will get the start tonight against the Islanders.

Potvin has played very well in his last two starts, and will likely be rewarded for his recent efforts with a start this evening.

Although Andrew Raycroft has been the better of Boston's two goaltenders to date, Bruins' coach Mike Sullivan intends to play both Raycroft and Felix Potvin regularly, reports the Boston Globe.

The Bruins will employ a rotation skewed slightly in Raycroft's favor for the time being. Adjust your roster accordingly.

Despite the fact that Andrew Raycroft has started the Bruins' last three games and has been very sharp, Felix Potvin will likely be in goal this evening against Washington, reports the Boston Globe.

Felix Potvin was brilliant last night stopping 32 shots in the Bruins' 3-3 tie with the Devils.

Boston was outshot 23-7 at the halfway mark of the game and Potvin kept his team in the contest. He will have to be at his best this season to hold off Andrew Raycroft for the Bruins' starting goaltender job.

Feilx Potvin rebounded with a solid effort last night in the Bruins' 1-0 victory over the Devils, reports the Boston Herald.

Potvin stopped 28 shots for the shutout in last evening's affair, after contributing two very poor performances earlier this week. He is still the leading candidate for the Bruins' starting goaltending job.

The Bruins and Felix Potvin had another poor effort last night losing to the Red Wings 9-0.

Potvin allowed 7 goals on 30 shots in about half of a game, as he again did not look sharp, nor did he have any help from a confused Boston blueline. The Red Wings scored 5 power-play goals, two by Tomas Holmstrom en route to their victory. Bruins' GM Mike O'Connell should be on the phone feverishly trying to sign restricted free agent Nick Boynton to a contract to shore up his underwhelming defensive corps.

Felix Potvin played poorly in the Bruins 6-2 loss to the Islanders last night.

Potvin let in all 6 goals on just 16 shots in the one-sided affair, and although he was not singled out for criticism, the Bruins coaching staff was cetainly not very forgiving of Potvin's effort. Just for those of you keeping score, Andrew Raycroft has played very well in limited action so far.

The Bruins have signed Felix Potvin to a one-year contract, reports the Boston Globe.

The 32-year-old Potvin would seem to be the favorite to become the Bruins' starting netminder over Steve Shields and Andrew Raycroft after signing a one-year deal believed to be for far less than the $3.5 million he earned last season. Potvin missed the Kings' last 31 games due to a sprained left ACL, but has told reporters he is now healthy. Don't, however expect Raycroft and Shields to go away quietly. There could be a spirited battle in training camp for the B's starting netminding position.

Felix Potvin could be one solution to the Boston goaltending problem, reports the Boston Globe.

The Bruins will have to wait to see if Curtis Joseph will be traded to the Rangers before signing a free agent like Potvin. If Cujo is Broadway bound, then the Rangers will likely trade Mike Dunham to Boston. If Cujo goes elsewhere, then the Bruins would have to decide if spending $2.5-3 million per season on Potvin is better than letting the current goaltending tandem of Andrew Raycroft and Steve Shields handle Boston's netminding chores.
