Jimmy Howard was snake-bitten Tuesday as he recorded a shutout against Columbus, but suffered a loss nonetheless.

Howard stopped all 29 Columbus shots he faced in 65 minutes of action, but received no offensive support from his teammates and fell on the wrong end of a 1-0 shootout loss. His record falls to 13-5-7 with the defeat while his GAA and save percentage improve to 2.05 and .922, respectively.

Jimmy Howard will get the nod Friday night against the Panthers.

In four career starts against Florida, Howard has only two wins despite having allowed more than two goals in a game just once. The loss was ten days ago on December 2nd, where he allowed four goals on 31 shots. Meanwhile, with a win the Red Wings can ascend to number one in the East with 42 points.

Dec 12 - 1:37 PM

Goalie Jimmy Howard made 18 saves in regulation and overtime Wednesday night as he and the Detroit Red Wings were edged 2-1 in a shootout by the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs.

Howard remains a keeper in fantasy leagues, of course, but the Leafs' Tyler Bozak and Mike Santorelli were able to beat him in the shootout, giving Toronto the win. Howard's record is now a very respectable 13-5-5. His goals-against average is 2.15. His save percentage is .918.

Jimmy Howard will get the nod for the Red Wings Wednesday night against the Maple Leafs.

With Petr Mrazek starting on Sunday, the Red Wings will turn back to their starter Jimmy Howard for Wednesday's tilt with the Maple Leafs. Howard will look for his 14th win on the year and try to improve his impressive 2.21 goals-against-average (eighth best in the NHL) and .917 save percentage. Dec 10 - 5:30 PM

Jimmy Howard made 27 saves in the Red Wings’ 3-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday night.

Things didn’t look so promising for the Red Wings and Howard to start, as the goaltender gave up two goals on 12 first-period shots. He settled down after that point, however, and so did the Red Wings. Detroit killed off seven Rangers power plays, with two late 5-on-3 opportunities. Howard has five wins over his last six games, with a 2.21 goals-against average and .917 save percentage overall.
Dec 6 - 9:57 PM

Jimmy Howard, who is scheduled to start Saturday, loves playing against the Rangers.

The Blueshirts are the Wings' opponents on Saturday and Howard has a 1.98 GAA and a .949 save percentage in five career starts against New York. Neeedless to say, Howard should be active.

Dec 5 - 12:00 AM

Jimmy Howard was beaten for four goals Tuesday, as the Red Wings were surprise losers to the Panthers by a score of 4-3.

Howard stopped 27 of 31 shots in the defeat, which snaps a personal three game win streak for him and drops his record to 11-5-4. His peripheral numbers have been decent and are now 2.23 and .916, respectively.
Dec 3 - 12:08 AM

Jimmy Howard will get the nod against Florida on Tuesday night.

Jimmy Howard probably wouldn't be expected to have a 2.13 GAA and .919 save percentage, but then again, those people probably aren't in the Red Wings organization. Either way, he's a top-ten goalie thus far on a team sitting comfortably within the playoff picture.
