Goalie Jimmy Howard stopped 23 shots in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-3 victory in Ottawa Monday night.
Howard has been okay, but just okay, in recent outings. His record is 9-4-4 on the season but his goals-against average of 2.09 is still impressive after his hot start. His save percentage is .920. He remains a very good option in goal for fantasy play. Nov 24 - 11:03 PM

Jimmy Howard was not his best, stopping just 24 of 27 shots in the Red Wings’ 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

The final Maple Leafs tally came with the net empty. Howard has been hot and cold lately, alternating three-or-more goal-against performances with zero and one over his past five games. Despite the loss, Howard has bounced back this season after a rough 2013-14 campaign that saw him post a 2.66 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. He has a 2.03 GAA and .922 SV%. He’s very underrated and is solid play in fantasy leagues.
Nov 22 - 10:34 PM

Jimmy Howard will start in goal against the Maple Leafs Saturday night in Toronto.

Not a big surprise here as Howard beat the Leafs 4-1 stopping 23 shots earlier this season. Howard is coming off a shutout against Columbus on Tuesday and should be in fine form against an inconsistent Buds' squad.
Nov 22 - 9:52 AM

Jimmy Howard cruised to an easy victory Tuesday as the Red Wings rolled over Columbus by a score of 5-0.

Howard stopped all 28 shots he faced in the victory, as the Blue Jackets' struggles continued. The shutout is the first of the campaign for the Red Wings netminder and the win raises his record to 8-3-4. Even more impressive are his peripherals, as his GAA remains under 2.00 at 1.97 while his save percentage is a sharp .924.
Nov 18 - 11:42 PM

Jimmy Howard will be in net once again as the Red Wings skate in Columbus on Tuesday night.

This will be Howard's fifth consecutive start since back up Jonas Gustavsson separated his shoulder at the end of their overtime loss to the Rangers back on November fifth. Howard for his efforts stil hosts a .919 save percentage and a 2.11 GAA, and fortunately for Detroit, Columbus has managed to score fewer goals this season (albeit by one, 45-44).

Nov 17 - 3:04 PM

Jimmy Howard allowed four goals on 19 shots in Detroit’s 4-1 loss to Montreal on Sunday.

This clearly wasn’t Howard’s best game of the season. Habs’ forward Brendan Gallagher banked a goal off Howard and in during the third period. This was only Howard’s second loss in regulation in his last 12 starts. The 30-year-old hadn’t allowed more than three goals in a game all season coming into this one. He now has a record of 7-3-4 this season.

Jimmy Howard played well for the Red Wings Tuesday, but couldn't earn a victory in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Senators.

The Detroit goaltender stopped 29 of 31 shots in the contest, but didn't receive enough offensive support to come out on the winning end of the tilt. The loss is just the second regulation defeat of the year for Howard, whose record is now 5-2-2. His GAA remains an impressive 1.96 while his save percentage is also stingy at .928.
