Marcel Goc (ankle) may not be able to return to the Penguins for the start of the playoffs.
Goc suffered a foot injury during a game last Thursday and is definitely out for the remainder of the season. Penguins coach Dan Blysma admitted to feeling fortunate that Goc was only out for three weeks since the injury looked worse to him. With Goc out of the lineup, the Penguins are using forward Jussi Jokinen at center. He has been almost exclusively at left wing this season but has a history of playing center. Jokinen started between wingers James Neal and Beau Bennett against the Blue Jackets Friday night. Mar 29 - 11:05 AM

Marcel Goc is expected to be sidelined for three weeks due to a foot injury.

In other words, he won't return before the end of the regular season, but he should return during the first round of the playoffs. He will finish the 2013-14 campaign with 11 goals and 25 points in 74 games this season.

Marcel Goc suffered a possible ankle or foot injury during Thursday's game.

The Penguins would only call it a lower-body injury and didn't provide any other details on Goc's status. He has two assists in 13 games since being acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 5.
Mar 28 - 10:43 AM

Marcel Goc had an assist in his Pittsburgh Penguins debut on Thursday.

Goc played against the San Jose Sharks team that drafted him, although he hasn't been in that franchise since the 2008-09 campaign. Goc was brought in to bolster the Penguins' bottom-six and while he'll do that, he won't be worth owning in standard leagues.
Mar 7 - 10:59 AM

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Marcel Goc from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a third and a fifth-round pick.

Goc is a physical forward that can chip in a bit offensively. On top of that he has a solid 52.8% success rate on the draw. He's a nice bottom-six addition for the Penguins, but his fantasy value is limited at best. He's also scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Mar 5 - 1:50 PM

Marcel Goc scored an empty-net goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Toronto.

It was his 10th marker of the season, marking the third time in his career that he's hit double digits in goals. Goc has 21 points in 56 games this season. He means more to the Panthers than he does in fantasy hockey circles.
Feb 5 - 7:09 AM

Center Marcel Goc posted an unassisted goal in the Florida Panthers' 6-2 defeat in Chicago Sunday night.

It was Goc's seventh goal of the season. He also was an impressive +2 on the night. Also scoring a goal for the Panthers was Dylan Olsen, his second of the season.

Marcel Goc scored a goal in Florida's 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary Friday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Goc tied the game 3-3 off a Flames' turnover. After Mike Cammalleri failed to clear the puck out of Calgary's zone, Sean Bergenheim dished to Scott Gomez, who fed Goc for his sixth goal of the season and first in seven games. Defenseman Tom Gilbert and Jimmy Hayes also scored for the Panthers in the loss.

Marcel Goc scored a goal in Florida's 3-2 defeat against Ottawa on Saturday.

Goc has five goals in 17 games, which puts him on pace to shatter his career-high of 12 goals in a single season. Even still, Goc has little to no fantasy value in standard leagues.

Marcel Goc earned the first fighting major of his NHL career in Saturday's loss to Washington.

He went after Capitals forward Michael Latta in the first period after Latta went high on a hit to Tomas Fleischmann. Goc was also assessed a 10-minute misconduct and two minutes for instigating on the play. Don't expect him to help your squad in penalty minutes though, as that isn't typically a part of his game. This is just the third time in his career that he's surpassed 20 minutes in the sin bin.

Marcel Goc potted his third goal in seven games in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Nashville.

Marcel Goc has played well centering Tomas Fleischmann and Kris Versteeg.

Goc has the defensive responsibilities on the first line but managed to score twice in the opener before being a minus-one in a 7-0 loss to St. Louis Saturday. "I play the way I play and I try to do the same things every night." Goc said. "But now I have to keep up with the offensive stuff but I still have to be responsible defensively. But no question playing with these guys is fun." Goc could get 15-20 goals if he remains as a top six forward so keep an eye on him on the waiver wire.

Goc scored what turned out to be the game-winner late in the third period before he salted it away with an empty-netter late in the contest. Rookie Aleksander Barkov and veteran Scott Gomez both managed to find the back of the net for Florida in the win.

Marcel Goc is projected to center Florida's top line Thursday.

He will play between Kris Versteeg and Tomas Fleischmann in the team's opener against Dallas. Goc has limited offensive upside but he can play in all situations and is versatile center for coach Kevin Dineen.
