Marcel Goc ended up playing Tuesday night and he produced two points in Florida's 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders.
He didn't participate in the morning skate because he was "sore," but the ailment didn't stop him from contributing a goal and an assist to give him 16 points in 36 games this campaign. Dmitry Kulikov had the Panthers' other marker in the contest and it came on the power play. Apr 16 - 9:49 PM

Marcel Goc didn't skate Tuesday morning and is questionable for Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders.

Goc is "sore," according to coach Kevin Dineen. His injury shouldn't really affect fantasy lineups, since the Florida center is barely worthy of ownership in even the very deepest of leagues. Goc has five goals and 14 points in 35 games this season.
Apr 16 - 12:33 PM

Marcel Goc scored a goal in Florida's 2-1 win Sunday.

Goc snapped his eight game goalless slump. He has five goals and 13 points in 33 games this season. You would need to be in a particularly deep league to justify owning Goc.
Apr 8 - 9:26 AM

It was a frustrating Sunday for Marcel Goc as the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 4-1.

He had a -2 rating and fired four shots on goal. The Cats didn't have much go their way against the B's as Tuukka Rask shut things down.
Feb 24 - 5:59 PM

Marcel Goc will play on the Panthers' third line Sunday against the Sabres.

With the return of Stephen Weiss, Goc will skate alongside Jack Skille and Tomas Kopecky. Needless to say,, this will do nothing for Goc's fantasy value.
Feb 2 - 9:35 AM

Marcel Goc had an assist and a -2 rating in his season debut Thursday.

Goc played on the top line Thursday night, but could get shuffled around once Stephen Weiss (groin) returns, possibly as early as Sunday. He'll still get enough ice time at even strength and on the power play to score at a 30-point pace, but Goc doesn't do enough to merit fantasy consideration in most leagues.
Feb 1 - 9:45 AM

Marcel Goc will play in his first game of the 2013 campaign on Thursday night following his recovery from an ankle injury.

He will play on the top line between Tomas Fleischmann and Kris Versteeg in the contest. He will probably get plenty of ice time on the penalty kill and power play as well.
Jan 31 - 2:27 PM

Marcel Goc (ankle) has declared himself fit to play after fully taking part in Wednesday's practice.

He centered the Panthers' top line during the session and appears to be ready to return for Thursday's match-up versus Winnipeg. Goc hasn't played yet this season after sustaining an ankle injury in November while playing in Germany during the lockout. Coach Kevin Dineen wouldn't commit to Goc's return, but he is looking forward to getting him back in the lineup especially with Stephen Weiss out of action.
Jan 31 - 10:15 AM

Marcel Goc (ankle) took to the ice on his own Thursday.

He has already been ruled out for games on Saturday and Tuesday, but he is getting closer to making his return to the lineup.
Jan 25 - 7:32 AM

Marcel Goc (ankle) will miss at least one more week.

Goc sustained the injury while playing in Europe. There's a chance he'll end up on the second line when he's healthy, but we wouldn't be surprised if he starts the season on the third line instead.
Jan 21 - 8:03 AM

Marcel Goc will start the season on the injured list.

He injured his ankle playing in Europe and will not be ready to start skating until later in the week. Although Goc skated on the Panthers' second unit last season we are not big fans.
Jan 19 - 9:40 AM

Florida coach Kevin Dineen doesn't expect to have Marcel Goc in the team's first three games of the season because of an ankle injury.

If that projected is true then he won't be available until the Panthers host Ottawa on Jan. 24. He is being listed as day-to-day with a sprained ankle and is currently suspended because he got hurt while playing in Europe.
Jan 14 - 3:12 PM

Marcel Goc (ankle) showed up for Panthers camp hurt.

Florida GM Dale Tallon would not divulge his status on Sunday, but said more information could come Monday after further evaluation. Goc played at home in Germany with Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga during the lockout. He recorded 19 points in 18 games, but he also missed time due to injury. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Jan 14 - 11:06 AM

Marcel Goc has been missing games for Alder Mannheim of late for undisclosed reasons.

He was limited to 57 games last season, but is good on faceoffs and on the penalty kill. In 10 games with Alder Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga he has three goals and nine assists. His last appearance in their lineup was on Oct. 26 and he has missed the team's past three matches.
