After signing a $38.5 million deal today, Andrew Ladd's says he wants to take the Islanders to the 'next level'.
"I think any team with John Tavares on it and the goaltending and the defense that the Islanders have, they're very close," Ladd said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge with helping this team get to the next level, and that's a Stanley Cup." Ladd could record his first 30-goal season on a line with John Tavares next season. Even if he doesn't reach 30 goals, look for Ladd to push for 70 points this season. Jul 1 - 9:12 PM

The Islanders are among the teams that are believed to be in the running for Ladd, who will become an unrestricted free agent at noon ET on Friday. Ladd is one of the more desirable forwards available and he'd be a nice addition for the Islanders, who are likely to lose Kyle Okposo.

Andrew Ladd doesn't sound optimistic that he will play for the Blackhawks next season.

"When we spoke after the season, they said it would be tough," he said. "The likelihood is they don't have the room to make it work." He added that the uncertainty is a "weird feeling, the waiting game. It's new to me. I honestly don't know what will happen." Ladd can become an unrestricted free agent next month.
Jun 1 - 6:04 PM

Andrew Ladd can become an unrestricted free agent in July, but he appears to be open to giving the Blackhawks a discount on his services.

"I'm at the point in my career where I can make decisions based on being in a good situation and at the end of the day, I don't think it's all about money for me," Ladd, said. "It's about being in a good place for my family and being on a team that's going to contend every year. You'd be crazy not to want to be a part of this group, this organization and we'll see what happens." He made $4.5 million this past season and he could demand much more than that on the open market.
Apr 28 - 9:16 AM

Andrew Ladd registered two points in the Blackhawks’ 6-3 come-from-behind win against the Blues to force Game 7 on Saturday.

From down 3-1 in the series to now a win away from round two. Ladd scored the game’s first goal, then the Blues got three in a row. But that was it. Ladd also assisted on Marian Hossa’s empty-net goal at 17:49. He seemed to be more engaged (four shots on goal) in this game than any previous, which is obviously good news for Chicago. Artem Anisimov, Trevor van Riemsdyk, Dale Weise and Andrew Shaw got the other goals. Artemi Panarin and Jonathan Toews got two helpers apiece. The lesson? Don’t count out the Blackhawks.
Apr 23 - 11:17 PM

Andrew Ladd currently leads the NHL playoffs with 21 hits after three games.

"It's just part of my game — that's the style," Ladd said. "It's a lot easier emotionally to get to that level in the playoffs, and I feel like if I'm skating and I'm on the puck, I'm usually on the body and that kind of takes care of itself. So if it's there, I'll take the hit. But I'm not going to go out of my way to make sure it happens." The St. Louis Blues have outhit the Blackhawks by a 122-85 margin in the series, but Ladd has been answering back physically.

Apr 13 - 9:18 PM

Andrew Ladd is in Chicago with his wife to be there for the birth of their child.

Meanwhile the Blackhawks are set to play St. Louis in Game 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET. In the regular season, Ladd would almost certainly be ruled out for that game, but because it's the playoffs the door is still open to him traveling to St. Louis in time for the start of the contest. With that in mind, he's being called a game-time decision.
