Andrew Ladd found the back of the net in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers and Islanders played two split-squad games tonight. The Isles won this game, which was played in Brooklyn, while the Flyers won the game played in Lehigh Valley. Ladd's first year in New York was disappointing, as he scored 23 goals and just 31 points in 78 games. Expect him to be a little more comfortable now that he's entering his second year with the Islanders, but that might not translate into more fantasy success. Sep 20 - 10:49 PM

The Islanders did not ask Andrew Ladd to waive his no-move clause.

Ladd will have to be protected in the expansion draft as a result. He played the first season of his seven-year, $38.5 million contract in 2016-17. Ladd produced just 31 points in 78 games in his first campaign with New York.
Jun 12 - 6:22 PM

Andrew Ladd had been playing through a nagging injury for the first few months of the season.

That might explain why Ladd struggled right out of the gate in 2016-17 only to get better as the campaign went on. Now that he's adjusted to playing with the Islanders and he'll presumably be healthy going into 2017-18, it'll be interesting to see how he does next season. He'll be a good buy-low candidate going into drafts.
Apr 10 - 11:30 AM

Andrew Ladd scored his 20th goal of 2016-17 on Wednesday.

It was a critical goal too as it came midway through the third period to lead the Islanders to a 3-2 victory over the Rangers. This is the fourth straight campaign that Ladd's reached the 20-goal mark or sixth consecutive season if you are willing to not count the lockout shortened 2013 campaign. What's different this time around though is that usually Ladd provides helpers and goals at a roughly even rate, but in 2016-17 he has just eight assists.
Mar 23 - 11:03 AM

Andrew Ladd is projected to play alongside John Tavares on Wednesday.

It was originally projected that Ladd and Tavares would spend the season largely on the same line and while things started out that way, Ladd struggled out of the gate and the two ended up being separated. Ladd has gotten better as the season has dragged on, though not to the extent that he's everything the Islanders had hoped for. He has 19 goals and 27 points in 67 contests this season.
Mar 22 - 10:10 AM

Andrew Ladd got into his first fight as a member of the New York Islanders.

Ladd battled with the Blue Jackets Brandon Dubinsky after Ladd gave him a big hit and Dubinsky responded with a slash. "I hit him, he slashed me, I figured he wanted to go," Ladd said. "It was kind of that point in the game when we needed a little bit of a spark." The result was a power play for the Islanders but Ladd was in the sin bin. He has 19 goals and 27 points this season with 39 penalty minutes. You should have expected a lot more if you drafted Ladd this season.
Mar 19 - 8:57 AM

Andrew Ladd (back) was fine to play on Thursday.

That's not surprising, but Ladd did miss Monday's practice due to back issues. He scored a goal in Thursday's contest.
Mar 3 - 5:01 AM

Andrew Ladd didn't participate in Monday's practice because of a back problem.

Ladd is still considered probable for Thursday's game. He has 16 goals and 22 points in 57 contests this season.
Feb 27 - 12:19 PM

The Islanders lost 7-0 to the Jackets Saturday night despite the five-SOG effort of Andrew Ladd.

None of Ladd’s shots made it to the back of the net as Joonas Korpisalo was incredibly stingy, but he earned some fantasy points nonetheless. He has made five or more shots on goal twice previously this season and he was notably unable to score in the December 16 overtime loss to the Sabres. His other high-shooting affair resulted in one goal on six shots one night earlier against the Blackhawks.
Feb 25 - 7:46 PM

Andrew Ladd scored at 8:58 in the third to give the Islanders a little life, but they ultimately lost 3-2 to the Devils Saturday night.

Ladd’s goal was challenged for goal tender interference, which was important because Cory Schneider was still working on a shutout. Schneider would have been denied anyway as Ladd was joined on the scoreboard by Anthony Beauvillier. This was Ladd’s 15th goal, lifting him to third on the team chart behind John Tavares and Anders Lee.
Feb 18 - 9:51 PM

Andrew Ladd scored two goals in Thursday's 4-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Ladd's goal in the second period gave the Isles a 2-1 lead, while his second was the final tally of the contest. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating, three shots on goal and one hit in 15:03 of ice time. Ladd's having a tough first season as a member of the Islanders. He now has 14 goals and six assists in 52 games. Anders Lee and Nikolay Kulemin also found the back of the net for the Islanders.
Feb 16 - 10:13 PM

Andrew Ladd registered an assist in the Islanders' 3-1 win over Philadelphia.

Ladd has recorded at least a point in five of his last six games. He still has just 12 goals and 18 points in 48 contests this season, but he's finally starting to produce like the Islanders were hoping when they signed him over the summer.
Feb 10 - 9:36 AM

Andrew Ladd scored a goal in the Islanders' 6-5 overtime victory against Toronto.

Ladd's having a rough season, but he's heated up lately with four goals and five points in his last five games. In 2016-17 he has 12 goals and 17 points in 47 games this season.
Feb 7 - 6:24 AM

Andrew Ladd has a three-game point streak.

He has generated three goals and one assist over that time. Ladd got his 11th marker of the season in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. He also had ice time increase to 16:41 after he played just over 13 minutes in his previous two outings.

Feb 4 - 9:10 AM

Andrew Ladd scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

The pair of goals put an end to his six-game goal drought. Ladd opened the scoring at the 13:07 mark of the first period and his second marker gave the Isles a 2-1 lead in the third frame. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating and three shots on goal in 13:30 of ice time. Ladd has 10 goals and 14 points in 43 games this season.
