Rene Bourque has only one point in seven games with the Anaheim Ducks.

He was given the opportunity to play on the top line Friday with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf but that chance went awry when Perry was injured in the first period and Getzlaf played with two different wingers. Bourque played a team-low 8:39 and failed to see the scoresheet. He may be worth a flier in the deepest of pools as he has scored 27 goals in a season twice in his career.
Dec 6 - 4:40 AM

Rene Bourque is expected to play on Anaheim's top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry when they skate in Minnesota on Friday night.

Bourque has just one point, an assist, in his first six games as a Duck. If there's a way to start catching fire, Coach Boudreau is giving Bourque a golden opportunity.
Dec 5 - 5:54 PM

Rene Bourque will get his first taste of Anaheim flavored hockey Sunday night against Arizona.

Bourque was acquired from Montreal on Thursday for defenseman Bryan Allen. He has just 18 points over his last 76 games, including two in 13 this season. Thuogh he does have four goals and 13 points in 21 career games against the Coyotes.
Nov 23 - 7:56 PM

Rene Bourque is happy to be a member of the Anaheim Ducks.

Bourque is just happy to be back in the NHL after the Canadiens sent him to the minors a couple of weeks ago and then dealt him to Anaheim for Bryan Allen on Thursday. "I’m very excited," Bourque said. "I think I was looking to be moved after everything went down in Montreal so it was nice to get a good change to a new team. I think I have a lot left. And I think I have a lot to give to this team." Bourque will be a game-time decision on Sunday as coach Bruce Boudreau has seen him in one practice, but the Ducks could certainly use the two-time former 27 goal scorer, returning to form.
Nov 23 - 4:02 AM

Rene Bourque participated in Anaheim Ducks practice on Saturday.

It's unclear when he'll be eligible to play, if the Ducks are even ready to do so. He's an interesting case to watch, as he's shown flashes of being a good scorer, though his inconsistently stamped his ticket out of Montreal.
Nov 22 - 2:02 PM

Rene Bourque has been shipped to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Bryan Allen.

Bourque had two assists in 13 games with the Canadiens before passing through waivers and heading to the minors. He has notched two goals and two assists in four games with Hamilton in the AHL since the move.
Nov 20 - 5:30 PM

Rene Bourque cleared waivers on Monday and he was assigned to the minors.

"It's not a question of confidence. It's a question of results. We give opportunities to guys, and when we see that the results aren't there, decisions have to be made," said coach Michel Therrien. "We decided to put him on waivers first, and then send him to Hamilton. It's never easy to let a veteran go, but there comes a time when decisions have to be made based on their performance." Bourque has recorded just two assists and a minus-9 rating in 13 games this season. Perhaps, he can get back into the lineup with Montreal if he regains some offensive touch in the minors.
Nov 10 - 5:15 PM

The Montreal Canadiens have placed Rene Bourque on waivers.

Bourque has been a huge disappointment this season. He has no goals and two assists in 13 games this season. If Bourque isn't claimed, he will report to Hamilton in the AHL.
Nov 9 - 5:54 PM

Rene Bourque was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game on Saturday night.

Bourque was scratched Wednesday against Buffalo, and Saturday against Minnesota. Bourque has been unable to build on a strong playoff performance from last spring. The 32-year-old has great size and skill but he is just too inconsistent. He is goalless in 13 games this season.
Nov 9 - 12:11 PM

Rene Bourque served as a healthy scratch Wednesday night.

Jiri Sekac played in Bourque's place after a seven-game hiatus in the press box during the Canadiens' 2-1 shootout win over Buffalo. Bourque has struggled mightily this season, with no goals, two assists and a minus-9 rating in 13 games.
Nov 6 - 11:04 AM

Rene Bourque is making himself into a healthy scratch candidate.

In 11 games thus far this season he has registered only an assist and is minus six. Either Jiri Sekac or Michael Bournival could take his place in the lineup as soon as Sunday night against the Flames.
Nov 1 - 11:01 AM

Rene Bourque hasn't translated his success in the postseason to anything of note at the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign.

He has no goals and one assist in 10 games after he recorded eight goals and 11 points in 17 playoff matches during Montreal's run to the Eastern Conference Final. "It's (expletive) hard to come by points right now. I'm trying to do anything and nothing's happening," he said. "I think after awhile you start pressing, but I think it's more your confidence. When you're feeling good and playing well, you have confidence with the puck, you're making plays." Bourque also has a minus-5 rating and 14 shots this year.
Oct 30 - 11:01 AM

Rene Bourque is hoping to build off the success he had in last year’s Stanley Cup playoffs.

Bourque struggled during the regular season, registering only 9 goals and 16 points in 63 games. He caught fire in the playoffs however, scoring 8 goals and 11 points in just 17 games. "I want to be ready for the season-opener on October 8th, obviously. I want to be in the best shape that I can be," said Bourque. "I’m going to work as hard as I can the next couple of weeks and prepare myself as much as I can."
Sep 19 - 8:59 PM

Rene Bourque isn't likely to argue with you if you called Tuesday's 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers the biggest game of his career.

Bourque led the charge for Montreal with a hat trick. "There are some games when the puck is coming to you," Borque said. "I've had a few (hat tricks) but obviously none as big as this one. I had a tough first period, the puck was bouncing but it was a little better in the second. You also have to give credit to my linemates. (Dale) Weise set me up with two great passes." He's now on a three-game point streak and has eight goals and three assists in 16 playoff contests.
