Rene Bourque has signed a one-year contract with Sweden's Djurgarden.
Bourque spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche, where he had 12 goals and 18 points in 65 contests. The 35-year-old scored 20 goals or more three times during his NHL career, but he hasn't been overly productive since the 2010-11 season. His days in the NHL are likely over. Rene Bourque scored his 10th goal of the season in a 2-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.

It marks the first goal for Bourque since December 14th, and his first point since New Year's Eve. After a hot start to the year, the 35-year-old has gone ice cold. Nathan McKinnon and Tyson Barrie picked up the assists on the only goal for the Avalanche.

Rene Bourque will skate on the fourth line on Saturday night.

Bourque will be making his return to the lineup after missing 11 games with a concussion. "I feel good," Bourque said. "I’ve had two or three good practices here in the past week. I feel like I’m ready to step in and hopefully help out the team a little bit. . . The worst part about being hurt is getting back in shape. But actually, even though I was out for the three weeks or whatever, I’ve been skating quite a bit."

Rene Bourque will return to the lineup on Saturday against the Sabres.

Through 43 games this season the veteran winger has posted nine goals and 13 points along with 42 PIMs and 60 hits. Bourque has not played since Feb. 1st due to a head injury.

"Seems to be going well on the ice," said coach Jared Bednar. "He's still going to have to pass a few tests in order to get cleared to play. Hopefully he's in in the near future." He has been sidelined since Feb. 1 with a head injury.

However, he won't travel with the team on Friday. Bourque could still be ready to play during Colorado's road trip, though. He hasn't played since Feb. 1 because of the injury.

Rene Bourque sat out three games with a hip-flexor and he may have aggravated that injury Wednesday night.

He was hit hard against the boards by Kings defenseman Brayden McNabb on Wednesday and left the game. Bourque was playing in just his second match back since his recovery.

After returning only one night previous, Rene Bourque left early in the first period as the Avalanche lost 5-0 to Kings Wednesday.

Bourque returned from a lower-body injury that was sustained January 19 against Anaheim. He came back to face the Ducks again on Tuesday, but did not net a point. Bourque lasted just 23 seconds into the Kings matchup before defenseman Brayden McNabb served him a heavy hit. This hit was the catalyst for John Mitchell and McNabb’s fight, ending with an instigator penalty for Mitchell.

Rene Bourque will return from a lower-body injury on Tuesday against Anaheim.

He sat out three games due to the ailment prior to the break, but he has been cleared to get back in the lineup. Before he got hurt, Bourque contributed just one assist in his last 15 appearances.

He hasn't played since Jan. 19 and will be eligible to play after the All-Star break if he is healthy. Bourque will not be in the lineup Wednesday night versus Vancouver.
