Jokinen has an impressive 18 goals and 53 points in 77 games played this season, although he's done so with higher quality teammates. It will be interesting to see what he can pull off far more on his own.

Jokinen has four points in his last five games, with 51 points through 72 games in total this season. Expect Jokinen to get much more power play time on the top unit with James Neal and Sydney Crosby while Evgeni Malkin is sidelined with an injury until mid-April.

Jussi Jokinen hopes to remain with the Penguins beyond this season.

Jokinen, who will now replace James Neal on the top power-play unit, is a pending unrestricted free agent on the last year of a three-year, $9 million contract. General manager Ray Shero won't discuss offseason plans, but the front office and coaching staff have been pleased with Jokinen, who has 17 goals and 46 points. "I just figure that it will take care of itself in the summer," Jokinen said. "I don't mind if we don't talk until the summer, either. I really don't care. There are a few free agents on this team, so I know they'll be busy making decisions. ... But I do want to stay here."

He scored just 11 seconds after Teemu Selanne gave Finland a 1-0 lead and the United States was never able to recover. Jokinen finishes the tournament with five points in six games. Jokinen had an assist on Olli Maatta's first-period goal Friday to give him 16 points in the 16 games heading into the Olympics. He has 42 points this season, putting him on pace for his best season in four years. "I like how my body feels right now, and I've got lots of confidence," Jokinen said. "Our line with (James Neal) and (Malkin) has played pretty good hockey and been able to produce."

The Carolina Hurricanes are picking up part of his cap hit, which means that the Penguins are being charged just $2.1 million for his services. They won't have that luxury next season though as he's set to become an unrestricted free agent. It will be interesting to see if he takes a hometown discount to stay with the team that's revitalized his career.

Jokinen has been playing well this season for the Penguins and he now has 16 goals and 23 assists in 54 games. Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist, while Chris Kunitz and Tanner Glass also tallied for the Penguins. Defenseman Matt Niskanen added two helpers in the victory.

Jokinen did not see a lot of action last season when he was dealt to the Penguins as the use of Brenden Morrow made him a healthy scratch in eight of 15 playoff games. But this year has been a different story as Jokinen has 15 goals and 36 points in 52 games which makes him a viable pick in deeper pools.
