Jussi Jokinen skated on the Panthers' top line alongside Jaromir Jagr and Aleksander Barkov Saturday night against the Senators.
The line was electric as both Jagr and Jokinen scored and Barkov picked up two assists. We suspect that Florida coach Gerard Gallant will leave this unit intact for Sunday's contest against the Rangers. Nov 20 - 9:27 AM

Jussi Jokinen will be a late scratch against the Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

The 33-year-old winger has three helpers and no goals in seven games so far this season. He's already missed time with injury, and considering the compressed nature of this season's schedule, Jokinen is probably just getting some rest. Jared McCann will play instead.

Jussi Jokinen didn't take part in Florida's practice on Friday.

Oct 22 - 8:02 AM

Jussi Jokinen's role in the Panthers offense will have to increase now that Jonathan Huberdeau has been ruled out for at least two months.

Jokinen was poised to start the season as the second line left winger alongside Vincent Trocheck and Reilly Smith. Gerard Gallant has not announced yet whether he plans on experimenting with someone else on the top unit or defaulting to Jokinen, the next left winger on the depth chart. Regardless, Jokinen will see increased power play time and might have the opportunity to play with Sasha Barkov and Jaromir Jagr on a regular basis while Huberdeau recovers. He is worth an add if he's on the waiver wire.
Oct 9 - 7:10 PM

The Florida Panthers have named Jussi Jokinen an alternate captain for the season.

The 33-year-old winger is entering his third season with the franchise, and he's posted 26 goals and 104 points in that time. Jokinen will join the presumptive 10th captain in franchise history Aaron Ekblad as alternates with Derek MacKenzie serving as captain.
