Jussi Jokinen, who signed with the Oilers on Friday, is very familiar with Oilers top prospect Jesse Puljujarvi.
Jokinen is a part owner of the Finnish league squad Karpat, which Puljujarvi played for before making the transition to North American hockey. "I’ve been practising with Jesse for three years in the summer. I know all about him, his potential. He’s still a young guy, learning how to be an NHL player. Hopefully, I’ll be able to help him," said Jokinen. There's a decent chance that Puljujarvi will find his way onto the Oilers' opening game roster and it's even possible that the two will begin the season on a line together. Jul 8 - 5:01 AM

Jussi Jokinen signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

Jokinen was available after the Florida Panthers bought out the final season of his four-year, $16 million contract. He's coming off a rough season where he was limited to 11 goals and 28 points in 69 games, but he had 60 points in 2015-16. This might prove to be a steal for the Oilers.

The Florida Panthers have officially bought out Jussi Jokinen.

That move was expected after the Panthers put Jokinen on unconditional waivers on Friday. He had one season left on his four-year, $16 million contract. He was limited to 11 goals and 28 points in 69 contests in 2016-17.

Jussi Jokinen is on unconditional waivers.

This is presumably the Florida's setting everything up to buy out Jokinen's contract. He would be going into the final season of a four-year, $16 million deal. Jokinen had just 11 goals and 28 points in 69 contests in 2016-17.

Jussi Jokinen (undisclosed) didn't practice Wednesday and could be done for the rest of the season.

Jussi Jokinen got a goal and an assist Tuesday night against Toronto.

He got a power-play marker in the final minute of the second period to end a 10-game goalless drought. Jokinen had one point in his previous seven outings and he currently has just 25 points in 58 games this campaign.
Mar 15 - 10:13 AM

Jussi Jokinen worked on the fourth line Wednesday.

He joined Derek MacKenzie, Denis Malgin, Michael Sgarbossa and Shawn Thornton. Sgarbossa and Thornton are expected to be the odd-men out if that combination remains intact for Friday's game against Minnesota.

Jussi Jokinen picked up two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Edmonton.

He had primary helpers on goals by Aleksander Barkov (power play) and Colton Sceviour. Jokinen is enjoying his most productive stretch of the season with four goals and eight points in the past eight games.

He also helped set up Jonathan Marchesseault's marker in the third frame, but the game was already over at that point. Jokinen finished the game with a plus-2 rating, two penalty minutes and one shot on goal in 14:28 of ice time. He has six goals and nine assists in 43 games this season. He isn't worth picking up in standard fantasy leagues.
Feb 9 - 11:57 PM

Jussi Jokinen opened scoring shorthanded and then picked up an assist on the power-play in a 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jokinen took a cross-ice feed from Vincent Trocheck and buried it behind a sprawling Andre Vasilevsky for his 5th goal of the year. After picking up an impressive 60 points last year, Jokinen has produced only 13 points in 40 games this season. He should not be owned in any format. Jonathan Marchessault picked up the game-winning goal for the Panthers.
