The medical staff of the Florida Panthers will examine him today. Kopecky may not play much, or at all, down the stretch for his NHL club after it's believed that he suffered a concussion while skating for Slovakia at the Winter Olympics.

According to team spokesman Tomas Stulajter, Slovakia's Tomas Kopecky has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2014 Winter Games because of an upper-body injury.

He was struck in the head by an elbow from Slovenia's Sabahudin Kovacevic, who received a one-game suspension for the infraction, during the first period of Saturday's contest. Kopecky may have suffered a concussion on the play.

"We played such a great tournament and a great game until going into the third. I remember that game like it was yesterday. You realize how fortunate you are to play in a game like that. Losing is such a bummer but it makes you an even better hockey player to realize how tough it is to play the Olympics at the highest level. I still didn't get over that game."
