Tomas Kopecky returned to practice Monday and he's expected to play Tuesday night.

He sat out Sunday's game with an upper-body injury. Kopecky has been a pleasant surprise for the injury-ravaged Panthers this season. He leads the team with 15 goals in 44 games and sits third on the club with 27 points.
Apr 23 - 7:39 AM

Tomas Kopecky missed Sunday's game due to an undisclosed injury.

Panthers coach Kevin Dineen wouldn't go into detail about what's bothering Kopecky, other than to say that he "just can’t play. He’s hurting there a little bit." Consider Kopecky day-to-day.
Apr 22 - 10:04 AM

Tomas Kopecky potted two goals but it wasn't enough for the Panthers in their 4-3 loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.

Kopecky now has 15 goals and 25 points on the season. Peter Mueller had the other marker for Florida, with Shawn Matthias getting two assists.
Apr 6 - 10:37 PM

Tomas Kopecky was questionable for Tuesday's match versus Toronto because of the flu.

He ended up playing 18:33 of ice time and picking up an assist in the contest. Kopecky has contributed 12 goals and 21 points in 34 games this season.
Mar 27 - 10:18 AM

Tomas Kopecky is all right after taking a hit to the head from Rangers forward Rick Nash on Thursday.

Nash wasn't suspended for the elbow. "I’m glad I’m fine. I just had a little deja vu," Kopecky said. "Right after it happened I thought it had happened before. Then I came to the bench and I was fine. I didn’t have a headache, no blurry vision." Kopecky has 12 goals and 20 points on the year.
Mar 23 - 9:14 AM

Tomas Kopecky scored his team-leading 12th goal on an empty net only a few minutes after avoiding serious injury on a big hit from Rangers forward Rick Nash.

Kopecky's Panthers were killing a penalty in the final minute, allowing him to fire at the net from deep in his own zone. The goal came not long after Nash left his feet and clearly struck Kopecky in the head. "That's Chumbawamba right there,'' coach Kevin Dineen said after the game. "You get knocked down and get right back up. We're beat up. We have a lot of bodies out, people at home watching. Kopecky wanted to get right back in the fight."
Mar 22 - 9:40 AM

Despite the fact that this is a shortened season, Tomas Kopecky is on pace to set a new career-high in goals.

Kopecky has already found the back of the net 11 times this season, just four shy of his personal best. That's due to a ridiculously high 17.5 shooting percentage, way above his career average of 8.2%. We aren't confident that he can keep up his current goal per game pace, but he should squeak past his career-high of 15.
Mar 16 - 10:05 AM

Tomas Kopecky netted his 11th goal of the season on Tuesday night.

In 27 games so far, he has 17 points. Kopecky recorded 10 goals and 32 points in 80 matches with the Panthers last year. He is quickly approaching his previous personal best of 15, which he scored in 2010-11 as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks. We expect his pace to slow down, but he's worthy of a spot on your roster in deeper leagues for now.
Mar 13 - 6:29 AM

Tomas Kopecky scored his 10th goal of the season for the Panthers in a 5-2 loss to Montreal on Sunday.

Kopecky has been one of the few bright spots for the struggling Panthers and has stepped up in the absence of other top players Kris Versteeg and Stephen Weiss. Shawn Matthias was the other goal scorer for Florida in the loss.
Mar 10 - 9:37 PM

Tomas Kopecky potted his ninth goal of the season in Tuesday's win over Winnipeg.

He has scored seven goals in his last 10 games. Kopecky will likely take on a large leadership role with the Panthers with so many veteran players out of action due to injury. The 31-year-old forward has 14 points in 23 games.
Mar 6 - 11:16 AM

Tomas Kopecky amassed four points, including a hat trick, to propel Florida to a 6-4 victory versus Pittsburgh Tuesday night.

The hat trick, which he completed into an empty net, was the first of his career. Kopecky has eight goals on the year now. Tomas Fleischmann and Brian Campbell enjoyed strong efforts as well with a goal and two assists apiece, as the Panthers found the back of the net on four of their seven power plays in the contest.
Feb 26 - 11:24 PM

Tomas Kopecky registered two assists in Florida's 4-3 victory against Buffalo.

Kopecky now has two goals and six points in eight games this season. That's a surprisingly strong start to the season and it makes him a viable option if you're looking for an injury replacement. Still, it's nothing to get excited over as he should cool down.
Feb 4 - 8:59 AM

Tomas Kopecky's power-play marker was the only Panthers goal in a 4-1 loss to Montreal Tuesday.

Kopecky was rewarded for his strong effort Monday with a bump in ice time with the man advantage tonight, however the team is clearly lacking the offensive punch typically provided by the ailing Kris Versteeg. Brian Campbell and Tomas Fleischmann each drew assists on Kopecky's marker.
Jan 22 - 10:41 PM

Tomas Kopecky was the most dangerous Florida player in a 4-0 loss to Ottawa on Monday night.

He led the team with six shots on goal, but couldn't beat Craig Anderson in the match. The Panthers will look to get back on the winning end when they head to Montreal for a Tuesday night game.
