Tomas Kopecky will tag in for Shawn Thornton against the New Jersey Devils in the season's finale on Saturday night.
With just eight points, 28 PIMs, and 88 hits in 63 games this season, it no longer looks like Tomas Kopecky has any fantasy value moving forward. Thornton meanwhile finishes his season with 50 PIMs and 93 hits over 46 games. Apr 11 - 6:00 PM

Tomas Kopecky, Steven Kampfer and Dan Ellis are healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Boston.

Ellis did well between the pipes when called upon but with Al Montoya ready to return, the Panthers no longer need his services. Florida has already been eliminated from the playoff picture but they will look to play spoiler against the Bruins tonight.

Tomas Kopecky is Florida's nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

The 33-year-old forward recovered from a concussion that he sustained in the Winter Olympics. "With a concussion, you never know if it will last a couple weeks or a couple of months," Kopecky said. "I was still getting headaches and months later, sleeping nine or 10 hours a night and waking up feeling like I just played in a game. It's tough when you're doing the right things and can't recover. It's not in your hands." He has skated in 63 games this season and he's recorded eight points. Kopecky, who can become a free agent in the summer, is hoping to stay with the Panthers.
Apr 8 - 9:15 AM

Tomas Kopecky (flu) participated in Monday's practice.

The flu bug went through the Panthers' locker room over the weekend, but the team appears to be over it now. Kopecky should be available to play on Thursday night after he missed Saturday's game due to the flu.
Mar 10 - 10:11 AM

Tomas Kopecky will be scratched against the NY Islanders on Saturday night because of the flu.

With just seven points, 22 PIMs, and 82 hits through 55 games this season, the 33-year-old veteran Kopecky simply no longer has any fantasy value.
Mar 7 - 6:09 PM

Tomas Kopecky will be scratched against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night.

The 33 year old veteran forward has just six goals and 19 points since his 15 goal and 27 point 2012-13 season. Unfortunately, there just isn't any more fantasy value here.

Tomas Kopecky will stay seated on Friday night as his Panthers take on the Stars.

The 33 year old Slovakia native's production has slipped mightily since signing with the Panthers for the 2011-12 season. He's gone from putting up 10+ goals and 25-35 points annually to his two goals and seven points through 46 games this season. He no longer has any fantasy value.

Feb 13 - 7:08 PM

Tomas Kopecky and Dylan Olsen will be scratched against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.

The veteran winger Kopecky and young defender Olsen have nearly identical numbers. Kopecky has amassed just seven points and 20 PIMs in 46 games this season, while Olsen has an additional point in two fewer games with the same PIMs. Neither have any fantasy value.

Tomas Kopecky and Scottie Upshall will be scratched against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.

They'll sit as Sean Bergenheim and Shawn Thornton draw back into the lineup. Unfortunately, neither Kopecky (seven points in 46 games) nor Upshall (11 points in 37 games) own much fantasy value.

Feb 10 - 7:24 PM

Tomas Kopecky will dress for the Panthers Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

It's been a rough year for the veteran forward as he's found the back of the net just twice and has posted a minus 11 rating in 42 games this season. Jimmy Hayes will also be back in the Panthers lineup Monday. The pair will replace Tomas Fleischmann and Scottie Upshall.
Feb 2 - 5:20 PM

It looks like Tomas Kopecky will be a healthy scratch for the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

JFYI as he's unlikely to be on any fantasy teams (unless they are sarcastic fantasy teams).
Jan 31 - 2:28 PM

Tomas Kopecky can become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but he would like to stay with the Florida Panthers.

"I like the guy, he's in a perfect role here and does a good job," coach Gerard Gallant said. "We could play him higher in the lineup some nights but I like the chemistry I see with Upshall and MacKenzie. They're not a fourth line. They just aren't." Kopecky scored the game winner against Edmonton this past Sunday to give him two goals and seven points in 36 games this year. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar, but he adds value to the Panthers with his penalty kill abilities and strong work ethic.
Jan 13 - 9:41 AM

Tomas Kopecky (undisclosed) will play Thursday versus Vancouver.

He has been sidelined for the last four games. With Kopecky back, Vincent Trocheck will be scratched.
Jan 8 - 4:19 PM

Tomas Kopecky and Brandon Pirri will not play Tuesday night against Montreal.

Kopecky is still recovering from an undisclosed injury, but it isn't expected to be serious. Consider him day to day. Pirri on the other hand has just four points in 18 games this season, and has no fantasy value.

Tomas Kopecky ended a 36-game goal drought in Saturday's 3-2 win over Buffalo.

The Panthers winger credited Hall of Fame defenseman and current FSF TV analyst Denis Potvin with helping him end his slump. "[Potvin] shook my hand and said it's a tough stretch and I'm going to break it today," Kopecky said. "He mentioned I had six shots last game and I told him I'll try to get 10 shots today. He's obviously one of the legends in hockey and to hear that from him it's just that little bit of a boost." Kopecky has only four points in 25 games this campaign.
