Yann Danis has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the New Jersey Devils.
Danis can earn $575,000 annually at the NHL level. That being said, he's an organizational depth goaltender that will likely only be called upon in the event of an injury to either Cory Schneider or Keith Kinkaid. Jul 3 - 6:07 PM

Yann Danis has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

He will probably spend the 2013-14 season in the minors. The Flyers will feature Steve Mason and Ray Emery with the big club. Danis spent most of the 2012-13 campaign with AHL Oklahoma City.

Yann Danis has been sent down to the minors.

Edmonton has called Yann Danis from the minors.

The move was made after Nikolai Khabibulin was surprising placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Danis played two periods against San Jose earlier this season in relief of Devan Dubnyk and he stopped all 14 shots he faced. He should get some more playing time with the Oilers during this call-up, but how will depend on how long Khabibulin is sidelined for.

Yann Danis has cleared waivers and has been reassigned to the minors.

The transaction probably means that veteran Nikolai Khabibulin will be activated and serve as Devan Dubnyk's backup on Wednesday. Danis' only appearance of the 2013 campaign came in relief of Dubnyk, during a 6-3 loss to San Jose on Jan. 22, when he turned aside all 14 shots he faced in two periods of work.

Oilers waive G Yann Danis.

Danis has been backing up Devan Dubnyk as Nikolai Khabibulin recovers from a hip injury. Khabibulin has been closing in on a return and waiving Danis likely signals the return of the Bulin Wall. Expect him to be activated at some point before Wednesday's game against Phoenix.

Yann Danis has been called up by the Edmonton Oilers.

It's not clear if Nikolai Khabibulin (hip) will be available for the season opener, but at the least it looks like the Oilers want some insurance. Danis has a 2.99 GAA and .905 save percentage in 28 AHL games this season.

Yann Danis on Friday night reminded 3,447 fans at the Cox Convention Center why he was named the American Hockey League’s top goaltender last season.

Danis notched 43 saves while helping the Oklahoma City Barons post a 2-1 overtime win over the Milwaukee Admirals. Another key to the victory was the Barons’ penalty kill — they took care of all five penalties, including Alex Plante’s five-minute major and game misconduct at the end of regulation and nearly two minutes of overtime. "You can’t look at the whole five minutes," Danis said. "You have to take it one shot at a time. We did a great job on that PK." The penalty was called after Milwaukee right winger Taylor Beck was crashed into the boards. Beck was unconscious on the ice for a couple of minutes, was immobilized, and then transported to hospital.

Yann Danis stopped 31 of 32 shots for the Oklahoma City Barons in a 2-1 win over the Abbottsford Heat Saturday.

Danis has played the majority of the games for the Barons with Olivier Roy tending goal in the others, but the statistics posted by Danis to-date have been inferior so a strong performance was vital for him.

Yann Danis will get $775,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the AHL in his one-year deal.

Just a follow up on the signing earlier today. Danis will likely place in the AHL if Nikolai Khabibulin and Devan Dubnyk remain with the Oilers and stay healthy.

The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed goaltender Yann Danis to a one-year contract.

No details have been released but Danis won the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's top netminder last season. Danis had a 2.13 GAA and .923 save percentage in 41 AHL games this season. He could be in the mix with the Oilers, especially if Nikolai Khabibulin or Devan Dubnyk has trouble in the upcoming season.

Yann Danis was selected as the AHL's Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award, which is given to the league's outstanding goaltender of the season.

Danis had a 2.13 GAA and .923 save percentage in 41 AHL games this season. He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. There's a chance that he'll land a one-way contract, but it seems more likely that he'll find a team that's willing to let him battle for the backup role in training camp.

Don't be surprised if the Oilers give Yann Danis a shot in goal should they move Nikolai Khabibulin in a trade.

Khabibulin and Devan Dubnyk have both been inconsistent this season and Danis has been nothing short of sensational in the American Hockey League. Although he is 30, if Danis can even approach the 1.98 goals against average and .926 save percentage he posted with Oklahoma City this season in Edmonton, he could get a chance to play on a regular basis for the balance of the season. Keep an eye on this situation.
