Maxime Talbot got two points in Colorado’s 4-3 loss to the Flyers on Saturday night.
The veteran is nothing but a checking line player. Talbot doubled his point total on the year to four and scored his first goal, too, so he’s clearly not fantasy relevant. Zach Redmond and Alex Tanguay picked up the other goals. Gabriel Landeskog had seven penalty minutes, while Nathan MacKinnon and Jarome Iginla each had five apiece. Nov 8 - 10:13 PM

Maxime Talbot is feeling good after undergoing shoulder surgery over the summer.

Talbot was dealing with the injury during the playoffs. He's a valuable bottom-six forward for the Avalanche when he's healthy, but he doesn't do enough offensively to make him worthy of note in standard fantasy leagues.

Maxime Talbot has played at center and on both wings with the Avalanche.

He's been playing on the ride side recently on the third line, but he prefers to play in the middle. "I feel like I'm more into the game at center," said Talbot. "It's more work, because you're skating more and you have more defensive responsibility. You usually have the middle of the ice, so you're telling yourself to get the puck and distribute it to the sides. Playing center, you feel like you touch the puck more. That's why I say it's a little more work, because you're always moving, whether it's in neutral-zone regroup or in D-zone." He has eight goals and 25 points in 78 games with Colorado and Philadelphia this season.

Maxime Talbot registered a pair of assists for the Avalanche in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to Winnipeg.

Since joining Colorado earlier this season, Talbot has continued to score near his career pace, which works out to about 30 points per season so he's not worth owning in any fantasy formats. Nick Holden, Cody McLeod, Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog were the goal scorers for the Avalanche in the losing effort.

Maxime Talbot skipped Monday's practice because his fiancee went into labor.

Feb 25 - 9:02 AM

Maxime Talbot had a goal and an assist in Colorado's 4-2 win over Minnesota.

That snapped Talbot's eight-game scoring drought. He's more of a defensive forward and that limits his fantasy value in standard leagues. The only major statistical area he's particularly noteworthy in is hits as he has 76 in 45 games this season.

Maxime Talbot notched a marker for the Avalanche in their 2-1 shootout loss to the Wild on Saturday night.

Talbot is a glue-guy/depth type of player with more value in real life and not worth considering in fantasy leagues. He has three goals and seven points in 31 games. Cory Sarich and John Mitchell had the helpers.

Maxime Talbot is still adjusting to his new surroundings.

"I've always been in the East, so I'm still learning players in this conference, what their tendencies are and things like that," Talbot said. "But I will do that. I'm confident I will keep adjusting better." He has no points, eight shots and a minus-2 rating in seven games with the Avalanche since being traded by Philadelphia.
