Doughty was a stud on the blueline once again as he played a team-leading 28:28 minutes and scored a power play goal, his second goal of the post-season. "Our defense can clearly do a better job at that (getting more involved in the play), other than Doughty last night," coach Darryl Sutter said. "I think he had . . .maybe nine total attempts, and he had five shots. After that, we were. . .not nearly as involved, or what we were getting from the outside from some guys that are looked on as goal scorers or shooters for their team, what they were doing in the series – things like that." Mitchell had two surgeries on his knee, which was injured during the lockout, and the Kings GM expressed his worry over the 35-year-old's availability for next season. In terms of his career, that’s what I think we have to figure out now where he is health-wise in terms of his career," Lombardi said. ... "Now I’m getting some information – and I don’t like speaking to it because I don’t have it all, but I guess it’s safe to say there would be a legitimate concern now whether he plays next year. But that could be premature. Let’s just say now, though, it’s possible, where I wouldn’t have thought it possible." He faced just eight shots the rest of the way, but a San Jose power play goal in the second proved the difference, as L.A. was unable to generate successful scoring chances. Quick has been pretty impressive this series, despite dropping back-to-back 2-1 contests in San Jose.
