Josh Gorges skated with Tyler Myers in British Columbia during the off-season and he would like to be paired with the former Calder Trophy winner during the 2014-15 campaign.
"We talked about it a lot, the possibility of us playing together," Gorges said. "I think it would be great. I think we would complement each other really well in what he does and what I do. Being left-handed and right-handed, everything kind of fits. If that's the case and how the coaches see us, I think it'll be a great opportunity for us to go out and have a great year together." Gorges was acquired from Montreal in July and he's expected to add some leadership to a young Sabres' defense corps. Sep 19 - 7:45 AM

Josh Gorges says he still hasn't heard any reason why the Montreal Canadiens traded him recently.

"I wish I had a really good answer — where this came from and why, and how it came about — but I don’t, to be honest," Gorges said weeks after being deal to the Buffalo Sabres. "It was a shock to me." Gorges, 29, says he was "deeply disappointed" and hat he "never wanted to leave Montreal," adding "in no way has this been my decision."

Josh Gorges was traded from the Canadiens to the Sabres for a second-round pick in 2016.

Gorges is an underrated rearguard who might have a larger role in Buffalo than he had in Montreal. Gorges is a last-round type of fantasy pick.
Jul 1 - 12:32 PM

Josh Gorges was surprised to find out that Montreal wants to trade him.

Gorges has a modified no-trade clause and he reportedly used it to veto a potential deal to Toronto. Although he didn't confirm that specifically, he did confirm that the Canadiens called him to ask him to waive his no-trade clause and clearly he didn't do that. He has, however, added "a couple" Canadian teams to his list of teams he's willing to go to. Previously the list include 15 American-based clubs.

There's reportedly an offer on the table for Josh Gorges from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

However, Gorges would have to waive his modified no-trade clause to accept a trade to the Leafs. If he does then it's believed that a roster player from the Leafs would go back to the Canadiens in return, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Josh Gorges is reportedly being made available for trade by the Montreal Canadiens.

The shot-blocking specialist has 15 teams on his list of approved destinations. Gorges has four more years on his current contract and it carries a $3.9 million cap hit.

Josh Gorges (hand) will return on Wednesday.

He has been out of the Canadiens' lineup for roughly a month. He has a goal and 13 points in 63 games this season.
Apr 8 - 12:30 PM

Josh Gorges (hand) participated in Monday's practice and he should be cleared to return for Wednesday's game versus Chicago.

He has been sidelined since Mar. 5 with a fractured hand, which he sustained on Mar. 1 against Toronto when he blocked a shot. If you need shot blocks then Gorges is a good play, but he doesn't bring anything else of value from a fantasy perspective.
Apr 8 - 8:26 AM

Josh Gorges is targeting Montreal's game in Chicago on Apr. 9 for his return from a fractured hand.

He has been sidelined since Mar. 5 after undergoing surgery to repair the damage caused by a blocked shot. Gorges is fourth in NHL with 173 blocks in 63 games.
Mar 31 - 10:41 AM

Josh Gorges underwent surgery on his fractured hand Monday and he's projected to be sidelined for about four weeks.

That could allow him to return for the last week of the regular season. Gorges has recorded just 13 points in 63 games this year, but he ranks second among all skaters with 173 blocked shots.
Mar 10 - 4:17 PM

Josh Gorges (hand) will probably have his status updated on Tuesday when the Canadiens return to practice.

He fractured his right hand when he blocked a shot on March 1 against Toronto and he's missed the last two games. Gorges appeared in two matches after the injury because the break wasn't immediately discovered.
Mar 10 - 10:18 AM

The Candiens are concerned that Josh Gorges has a broken hand.

If that is the case, his season could be over. The Habs expect to know more about the nature of Gorges' injury in the next 24 hours. Stay tuned for updates.
