Mike Green is "out for a while" with an upper-body injury, according to Detroit GM Ken Holland.

He didn't play on Tuesday with what was initially reported as a lower-body injury. Green was ruled out for Detroit's games before the holiday break earlier this week. The Red Wings will re-evaluate how Green feels Tuesday.

Mike Green is considered day-to-day by the Red Wings with an undisclosed injury suffered in Saturday's match with the Ducks.

It doesn't appear that Detroit is worried about his long-term health, which is a relief. The Red Wings will be in Carolina on Monday, and if he makes the trip then expect him to play. We'll keep you posted.

Mike Green appears to be OK after taking a hard hit from Ryan Kesler Saturday night.

The injury-prone Green limped off the ice in the final minute of the contest but told reporters after the game that he is fine and should be good to go against Carolina Monday night. All Green owners can collectively exhale now.

Mike Green scored a goal in Detroit's 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

Green's goal at the 7:13 mark of the opening period to tie the game at one. Luke Glendening registered the only assist on Green's marker. Green finished the game with a minus-1 rating, three shots on goal and two takeaways in 22:23 of ice time. The Wings defenseman now has seven goals and 10 assists 31 games.
