Mike Green is tied for second on the Red Wings with 13 power-play points this season.

Unfortunately, Detroit has struggled with the man advantage for most of the season. The team sits 24th in the NHL in power-play efficiency with 36 goals on 209 opportunities. "Sometimes you just need a lucky bounce to get things rolling," Green said. "Maybe we need to get a few more pucks to the net, including myself up top. Try to get those dirty goals to get our confidence up."

The Detroit Red Wings need to show some improvement on the power play in the second half of the year.

Detroit is operating at 17.6 percent on the man-advantage this season which is good for 18th in the NHL. They went through a stretch where they didn't score a power play goal in 28 contests. Mike Green found the back of the net in Detroit's 3-2 win over the Kings Friday night.

It was Green's first goal with the Red Wings. He now has seven points in 14 contests this season. As far as his point-per-game pace goes, that's certainly a good one for a defenseman, but he's capable of even better. "I think we’re just at the tip of the iceberg for him," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "I think he’s going to continue to get better and better as he gets more and more comfortable."
