Kyle Brodziak finally scored his first goal of the season in the Wild's 2-1 shootout win.

Brodzaik is usually an alright complementary scorer as a third line center, but he has struggled mightily out of the gate. He's not a fantasy option and is a player that is more valuable on the ice than in the box score. Look elsewhere for fantasy options.

Kyle Brodziak was clipped in the face by skate in Nashville on Tuesday, but he participated in Wednesday's practice and is expected to wear protection for the final two games of the regular season.

"He's a little bruised," coach Mike Yeo said. "There's a nasty cut there. One thing about Brodzie is he's tough. Not tough as in he's going to get in 15 fights a year. Tough as in you see him block shots. You see times when he comes off the ice and he's hurt. Then, 30 seconds later, he's back and hasn't missed a shift. He's a real tough hockey player." Brodziak has had a career-year offensively in 2011-12 with 22 goals and 44 points in 80 matches.

Kyle Brodziak potted a goal in the Minnesota Wild's 3-2 shootout victory against the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night.

The center's 17 goals mark a career high, and with 33 points, he's bound to set a new career high in that department as well. He's just four off. He hasn't been a great plus/minus player (negative-17), but he has 62 penalty minutes, so he has some worth in deeper leagues. Steven Kampfer potted his first of the season. Darroll Powe, Matt Cullen and Devin Setoguchi had the assists.

Kyle Brodziak has reportedly agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild on a three-year contract extension.

Brodziak has played the best hockey of his career as a member of the Wild this season so it makes sense that both sides were interested in keeping him in Minnesota for the foreseeable future. He'll earn about $2.83 million per season over the life of the deal.

Kyle Brodziak was a minus-four Thursday.

Not a good night for the center as he is now minus-eight on the season. He does have 15 goals and 29 points this season but unless you are in a very deep league that does not use plus/minus, we would stay away from him.

Kyle Brodziak scored his 15th goal of the campaign in Minnesota's 2-1 shootout loss to Dallas Saturday night.

With the goal, Brodziak also extended his point scoring streak to six games. Nick Johnson registered an assist on Brodziak's marker, his fourth point in Minnesota's last six contests.

Kyle Brodziak netted his 11th goal of the season on Wednesday.

Brodziak's career high is 16 goals, so it's safe to say he'll break it. That being said, we caution you from getting too excited. He might be worth taking as a depth forward in fantasy leagues, but don't expect him to maintain his current pace, which would put him at 28 goals by the end of the season.

Kyle Brodziak is quickly becoming a fantasy factor.

He leads the surprising Wild in goals with 10 and has 17 points . He certainly has impressed Minnesota coach Mike Yeo. "Why not? Why couldn't he be?" Yeo said of Brodziak leading in goals. "Because of the way he plays -- his attention to detail, his commitment to the system -- he comes back to the bench and every shift he feels good. He's confident and you kind of build momentum within your own game." If you need a depth forward you could do worse than Brodziak.

Kyle Brodziak potted two goals Saturday night as the Minnesota Wild took down the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-1.

The 27-year-old is not really fantasy relevant at this point, but with 10 goals and 17 points on the year, he's quickly setting himself up for a career season as he has six points in his last five games. He had a career-best 37 points last year. Mikko Koivu chipped in with a goal and an assist to give him 26 points on the season, while Dany Heatley (ninth) also scored to give him five points in his last five games. Jared Spurgeon and Pierre-Marc Bouchard each had two helpers as well.

Kyle Brodziak will not get disciplined for his hit Thursday on the Kings' Anze Kopitar.

Brodziak received a major for boarding and a game misconduct in the second period which Kings coach Terry Murray was upset about and thought there should be a suspension while the Wild side disagreed. "If you're lying on the ice for five minutes like that and play the next shift, you're obviously not that hurt," Brodziak said, sarcastically about Kopitar. In any event, Brodziak will be in the lineup Saturday.
