Oct 7 - 4:14 PM

Drew Stafford notched two goals and an assist in Monday’s 8-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

The Devils signed Stafford late in the off-season, and he’s been pretty reliable during the exhibition season. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be productive during the regular season. The 31-year-old had eight goals and 21 points in 58 games with the Jets and Bruins last season. He has no fantasy value in all standard leagues.
Sep 25 - 8:47 PM

Drew Stafford found the back of the net in Saturday’s 2-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Stafford scored the game-winning goal with under six minutes remaining in the third period. The 31-year-old had eight goals and 21 points with Jets and Bruins last season. Stafford won’t have any fantasy value this season, but expect him to be a regular on the Devils roster. Joseph Blandisi also scored for the Devils tonight.

The New Jersey Devils have signed Drew Stafford to a one-year, $800,000 contract.

Look for Stafford to play on the Devils' third or fourth line throughout the upcoming season. The 32-year-old had eight goals and 21 points in 58 games with the Winnipeg Jets and Boston Bruins last season. Stafford likely won't have any fantasy value.
Aug 25 - 12:21 PM

Drew Stafford has reportedly kept in contact with the Boston Bruins over the summer.

However, Stafford "might be one of those players who needs to go into an camp on a tryout basis," according to Joe Haggerty of CSN New England. Boston would probably want to keep their options open because they want some of their prospects to challenge for roster spots.
Aug 9 - 4:05 PM

The Minnesota Wild have been in touch with UFA Drew Stafford's agent.

Stafford has some interest in playing for the Wild as well. Minnesota has to re-sign RFAs Marcus Foligno, Mikael Granlund, and Nino Niederreiter though, so they'll likely wait to re-sign them first and then circle back to Stafford once their cap situation is clear. Stafford has also been in contract with his most recent team, the Boston Bruins, but Boston also needs to settle its RFA situation first.
Jul 11 - 7:32 AM

The Boston Bruins have remained in contact with UFA Drew Stafford.

Stafford had eight goals and 21 points in 58 contests with Winnipeg and Boston in 2017-18. Bruins GM Don Sweeney would like to wait until he's settled matters with RFAs David Pastrnak and Ryan Spooner before potentially signing Stafford though, so this isn't likely to be resolved soon.
Jul 10 - 4:27 AM

The Bruins are still interested in bringing back unrestircted free agent Drew Stafford.

Boston GM Don Sweeny told reporters that talks are ongoing. Stafford had a nice run with the Bruins (eight points in 18 games) after being acquired from the Jets on March 1st last season and could be a nice third-line option in 2017-18.
Jul 2 - 8:50 AM

Drew Stafford would like to return to Boston next season.

"Absolutely. If there's any kind of a chance [to return to Boston], I would definitely be into it. I know my wife wasn't able to make it out here, but we had talked about it a little bit as a possibility," said Stafford. "If they feel like it could be a good fit then we'll cross that bridge moving forward. The business side of it kind of works itself out, but personally I loved my experience here and it would be great. We'll see what happens." He had eight points in 18 games after he was acquired from Winnipeg and he posted two goals in six playoff matches. If he doesn't re-sign with the Bruins then Stafford is eligible for unrestricted free agency.
