The New York Rangers have reassigned Nick Tarnasky to AHL Hartford.

Tarnasky ended up being one of the earlier cuts from the Rangers' training camp roster. He's a veteran of 245 NHL games, but hasn't played at that level since 2009-10. With that in mind, we're not optimistic about the possibility of him even end up being called upon as an injury replacement this season.

If you are looking for a penalty minute boost, consider starting Nick Tarnasky.

He has fought in 11 of the Panthers' last 17 games. That puts him at better than even money to engage in fisticuffs in one of the Cats' two games this weekend against rival Tampa.

Tarnasky's tilt with Tanner Glass in the first period was the most any Panthers' player showed in an otherwise listless loss to Canucks. Florida has been woeful offensively, scoring just four goals total on a five-game losing streak, including getting shutout twice.
