The Devils have recalled Jay Leach from Albany of the AHL for Saturday's game against the Sabres.

The New Jersey blueline is a little banged up as both Anton Volchenkov and Colin White sustained lower-body injuries in Friday night's loss to Pittsburgh. Needless to say, Leach has no fantasy value.

The New Jersey Devils have sent Jay Leach to AHL Albany.

The Devils reacquired Leach from the San Jose Sharks on February 9th. He had five points and 45 penalty minutes in 50 games with AHL Worcester.

Jay Leach is still up with the New Jersey Devils.

He had two root canals and will have a crown put in after he lost two teeth when a deflected puck hit him in the mouth in Sunday's practice session. "They found one but there wasn't enough of it to do anything. The other one was shattered," said Leach. The Devils have a banged up defense corps right now, so they will keep Leach with the team for now as insurance.

Leach was called up on an emergency basis, but it turns out they won't need him. He has a goal and three points in 63 career games.

Jay Leach has been called up by the New Jersey Devils on an emergency basis.

The Devils reacquired Leach from the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday. Leach had one point in 24 games with New Jersey in 2008-09. He hasn't played in an NHL game yet this season.

The New Jersey Devils and San Jose Sharks completed a minor-league deal on Wednesday night involving four players.

Heading to the Devils' AHL affiliate in Albany will be defenseman Jay Leach along with center Steve Zalewsk, while San Jose will receive forwards Patrick Davis and Michael Swift for their farm club in Worcester. Leach was a member of the Devils organization in 2008-09 before being claimed off re-entry waivers by Montreal and San Jose in 2009-10.

Jay Leach has cleared waivers and been sent down to AHL Worcester.

Leach inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Sharks in July. He had two points and 20 penalty minutes in 35 games in Montreal and San Jose last season.

The San Jose Sharks have placed defenseman Jay Leach on waivers.

They also put Sean Sullivan and T.J. Trevelyan on the waiver wire and if all three go unclaimed they will be assigned to the minors. San Jose made an additional cut to their roster by sending Brandon Mashinter to the AHL.

Leach tested unrestricted free agency and found that there was the most interest from the Sharks. No terms were announced. Leach has no fantasy value.

Jay Leach has been offered a two-way contract from the San Jose Sharks.

It is expected that he will test the waters on July 1 when he becomes an unrestricted free agent, but he may return to the Sharks if he can't find a better deal.

Leach will take the place of Derek Joslin who was sent to the minors. Leach was claimed off waivers from the Habs at the beginning of December but has no fantasy value. It is the Sharks only game this week.
