There's a chance Cam Janssen may hear from the NHL's Department of Player Safety after he delivered a hit that appeared to make contact with the head of Tampa Bay's Cory Conacher late in the second period.

He picked up a charging penalty on the play, but he doesn't feel like the play warrants supplemental discipline. "I know it's all reaction and it comes really fast, but I make sure my elbows are down," said Janssen, who joined the team from the minors Tuesday. "Some things happen the way they are, but I make sure my elbows are down and everything else seemed to fall into place."

New Jersey Devils recall Cam Janssen from AHL Albany.

The Devils needed to fill a roster spot after waiving Bobby Butler on Sunday. Janssen will slide right into the lineup Tuesday night, taking the place of rookie Stefan Matteau. Janssen has no fantasy value.

The New Jersey Devils rotated pugilists for Sunday's match against the Montreal Canadiens, dressing Cam Janssen for Krys Barch.

The Habs have only had three fights this season, so Janssen isn't a guaranteed PIM resource. Still, an enforcer getting back in the lineup will probably hope to get one in. It appears he's most likely to face off Brandon Prust, who has two of Montreal's scuffles in 2013.
Jan 27 - 4:36 PM

Cam Janssen will host a charity game Saturday to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy first responders.

NHL players Barret Jackman, Alex Pietrangelo, Brian Elliot and St. Louis Blues alumni will attend the event that will take place at the Hardees Iceplex in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Enforcer Cam Janssen has apologized for an anti-gay remark he made on an internet show.

"I would like to apologize for my poor choice of language," Janssen said. "The tone of the interview was very casual and off-color, and I lost focus on what is and is not acceptable and professional. I am deeply sorry to anyone who was offended by my language." Janssen will now support the "You Can Play" project, which is an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation.

Cam Janssen got his first point of the season in Friday's 6-3 victory.

Janssen has 11 points in 24 career games. You'd have to be in an extremely deep league to justify having him on your fantasy roster.

Although Cam Janssen has been activated off of the injured reserve list, he won't play on Monday.

Devils coach Pete DeBoer didn't want to alter his lineup and noted that Janssen has only participated in "basically" one practice. "I'm hoping (to play) tomorrow," Janssen said. "I got a good skate in today and got the practice I needed. Now it's just a coaching decision. I'll be ready when they need me."
