Mike Richter will have his number 35 retired in a February 4th ceremony at Madison Square Garden, reports the New York Post.

Mike Richter will announce his retirement tomorrow afternoon at a press conference at Madison Square Garden, reports the New York Post.

Richter, 36, will retire as the winningest Ranger goaltender (301 regular season victories) after a 14-year career spent entirely in the "Big Apple". After meeting with neurological specialist Dr. Karen Johnston in Montreal last week, Richter, who is still suffering from post concussion syndrome, decided to hang up his skates. Richter will still be paid the $4 million owed to him on the final year of a two-year contract signed last summer. We wish the diminutive Ranger goaltender with bad knees and a big heart, all the best in the future.
