Chris Thorburn will be a healthy scratch once again when the Jets visit the Panthers Wednesday night.

He will be sitting out for the seventh straight, contributing three goals in 2016-17 and unlikely to be of any fantasy value. Mark Stuart will be the other healthy scratch.

Chris Thorburn will be scratched against the Canucks on Thursday.

The 33-year-old winger has posted 46 hits and 65 PIMs in 29 games, which, if nothing else, is beastly if you're in a reverse league.

Chris Thorburn scored for the third time this season in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Edmonton.

He gave the Jets a 2-1 lead going into the third, but the Oilers rallied to hand the Jets a regulation loss. Thorburn also dropped the gloves with Zack Kassian in the contest and logged just 5:01 of ice time.

Chris Thorburn played in his 700th NHL game on Thursday night.

"The first thing is that’s 700 the hard way, 700 means that he started when there was almost a fight a night," said head coach Paul Maurice. "Whether you got into one or not, that’s on his pedigree. The mental toughness to be willing to do what you need to do in that role is as demanding as any role in pro sports. I’ve never played that role, so I’m not sure where fear sits in it, but you certainly have an awareness and anticipation."

Chris Thorburn fought Kyle Clifford during Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Kings.

Mark it three straight games for Thorburn with a fight, and four straight with some PIMs. He has 28 on the season through 12 games. This is tantalizing news if you're in the right league.

Chris Thorburn and Mark Stuart will not play in Sunday's Heritage Classic against the Oilers.

Surely a disappointing result for both veterans, but not one that should be surprising. They've combined for just 16:58 of total ice time this season in a game each with nothing to show for their efforts.

Chris Thorburn and Mart Stuart are the healthy scratches when the Maple Leafs pay a visit to Winnipeg on Wednesday night.

Thorburn appeared in all 82 games for the Jets in 2015-16 and only missed one game in the previous two seasons, however he's only dressed for one game in this young 2016-17 season. Veteran Mark Stuart has also appeared in only one game, an 11 minutes affair with one shot on goal. Both players have little fantasy value.
