Well that's a good sign for Burrows and the Canucks, but it hardly amounts to hope he'll return to the lineup immediately. Alex Burrows has gone back to Vancouver to attend to family matters, and it is not clear when he will return to the team.

The Canucks have a game Monday in Montreal before capping off their seven game and two week road trip in Winnipeg on Wednesday. "It's a personal reason. He went back, and it's a good thing, so he's just back with his family," Coach Desjardins said of Burrows departure. Through 18 games this season the rugged winger has posted four goals, nine points, 10 PIMs and 16 hits.

He has been skating with prospects Jake Virtanen and Cole Cassels in the early part of training camp. Burrows will probably see some preseason action with them, but when the regular season begins he is likely to play on one of the Canucks' top-two lines. That will either place him alongside the Sedin twins or with newcomer Brandon Sutter.
