Alex Burrows will likely skate on the second line with Nick Bonino in 2014-15.
Radim Vrbata is projected to play with the Sedin twins, so Burrows will get Bonino and either Zack Kassian or Jannik Hansen as his linemates. "I think we want to have more balance on our four lines and more scoring depth," said GM Jim Benning. "So if we can move Alex, say, from the first line to the second line, it makes our second line better. I think now we have depth at the forward position where every line can contribute in scoring and that's one of the things we set out to do." Burrows struggled mightily last year, while earning five goals and 15 points in 49 appearances. Jul 4 - 9:42 AM

But he's heard plenty on Twitter. "There must have been 500 messages for me from Ranger fans," Burrows said. "'I'll kill your family, I want you to die.' Bad things. A lot of people were upset with me." So why read them? "I thought it was a little bit entertaining, too," Burrows said. "It's a way for people to communicate nowadays, but it is scary. Alex Burrows feels that former Canucks coach Alain Vigneault was more rationale while their current bench boss, John Tortorella, relies on gut feelings.

"For the most part, Alain let us decide how we wanted to play as a team," Burrows said. "He manages his bench well and they (Rangers) seem to be rolling four lines, and they'll be a dangerous team in the playoffs." Burrows still thinks very highly of Vigneault. The reaction from the guys after the first one was funny. I know they’ve been pulling for me for a long time and they want the best for me and it was nice to see them react that way. It’s always tough when you don’t score, especially for that long. I never experienced something like that. It’s tough to put into words. You feel like you’re letting the guys down and letting the team down. I need to step up my game to help them out. We know these points are important for us."
