Winnipeg has acquired Jay Harrison from Carolina in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

The selection originally belonged to the Ottawa Senators. In 20 games with the Hurricanes, Harrison has four points and 42 penalty minutes. Winnipeg's defense corps has been decimated with injury, so Harrison should be able to step directly into the lineup.
Dec 18 - 4:11 PM

Jay Harrison, Brad Malone, and recently recalled Chris Terry will all sit as healthy scratches against the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon.

As Coach Peters continues to search for his best lineup, those who cannot help the scoring or defense will sit as there's just 11 points between these three.

Jay Harrison and Brad Malone will continue to be healthy scratches for the Hurricanes against the Penguins Saturday night.

The Hurricanes will use the same lineup from Friday night that led to a 4-2 victory over the lethal Penguins, thereby making Harrison and Malone healthy scratches once again. Michael Jordan will continue as the seventh defensemen for the 'Canes.

Nov 29 - 5:21 PM

Jay Harrison and Brad Malone will be out against the Panthers on Wednesday night.

Both Harrison and Malone are healthy scratches. Michal Jordan (no, not that MJ) will see his first action of the season and sixth career game.
Nov 26 - 7:19 PM

Jay Harrison, Chris Terry and Zach Boychuk are expected to be healthy scratches Saturday night against Colorado.

Forwards Terry and Boychuk aren't terribly surprising given that they've contributed just a dozen points in 34 combined games. However Jay Harrison's absense is because he was thought to have recovered from his lower body injury. As far as we know, they're all healthy scratches.

Nov 22 - 8:24 PM

Jay Harrison will return from a lower-body injury Thursday night.

He has been absent from Carolina's last three games. John-Michael Liles is projected to draw out of the lineup.
Nov 20 - 2:58 PM

Jay Harrison will miss Saturday afternoon's game in Boston because of a lower body injury.

Harrison's only fantasy value comes in the form of penalty minutes. He should be considered day-to-day right now.
Nov 15 - 12:21 PM

Jay Harrison has sustained a lower-body injury.

Harrison is being regarded as day-to-day as a result. He has three points and 36 penalty minutes in 13 games this season.
Nov 14 - 1:12 PM

Jay Harrison scored his second and third points of the season on Friday night in Edmonton, but the Hurricanes still lost 6-3.

He had a great game, but the Hurricanes seem to be in that horrible spiral every team that finishes low in the standings has. They allowed a 11 goals in two games in Alberta. He skated just over 20 minutes and over two minutes on special teams.
Oct 25 - 2:51 AM

Jay Harrison has stepped up his game, averaging well over 20 minutes a night thus far in 2014.

Harrison played 26 minutes including nearly six minutes on special teams Thursday night against the New York Rangers. He took two minors, with three hits and shots as well. Seems as though coach Bill Peters has leaned on the veteran to shoulder the heavy minutes as Carolina tries to get itself on track.
Oct 17 - 12:37 AM

Carolina allowed four goals in 10:54 minutes to start its game against the New York Islanders.

"It's unexplainable, the effort we had," Jay Harrison said. "That's not our game, not our preparation. We clearly were not ready to go. The accountability in the room … this can't be tolerated. The effort and inspiration has to be better." Carolina battled back, but the damage was done in the Islanders' 5-4 victory. That drops the Hurricanes to 31-32-9 this season. They don't have a realistic shot of making the playoffs.
Mar 26 - 9:28 AM

Jay Harrison was a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Harrison has only two goals and seven points this season so the benching shouldn't affect too many poolies.
Mar 2 - 6:42 AM

Jay Harrison was back in action Friday night against the Blue Jackets.

He had been out of action the last week with a concussion. If for some reason you need Harrison, he now seems safe to roster.
Jan 11 - 2:49 AM

The Carolina Hurricanes have placed defenseman Jay Harrison on injured reserve.

Harrison suffered a concussion at Tampa Bay on Dec. 21. He has seven points and 30 penalty minutes in 32 games this season.
