Jay Harrison will play his first game since Jan. 27th on Tuesday night against Dallas.

Harrison's has had a nice season in 37 games with the Jets and Hurricanes, amassing eight points, 49 PIMs, 61 hits, and 67 blocks. "I'm really excited to get back," Harrison said. "It's not an easy thing to do. As a professional it is part of your job. It's a skill as well to be able to stay in control of what you can control and wait for your opportunity to show that you're prepared to do it."

Jay Harrison and Paul Postma are expected to be scratched versus the Washington Capitals on Thursday night.

Harrison hasn't played since Jan. 27th, and Postma since Jan. 8th, meaning neither are within Coach Maurice's plans these days. Sure, that could change due to illness or ineffective play, but that's not the current situation for the possibly playoff-bound Jets. No play, no fantasy value.

Defenseman Jay Harrison looks to be among the Winnipeg Jets' scratches on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Also out: recently recalled forward Patrice Cormier and defenseman Paul Postma. Harrison is dealing with an upper-body injury, so one might consider it an unhealthy scratch.

Jay Harrison didn't skate Monday because of an upper-body injury.

He is listed as day-to-day. Harrison probably would've been a healthy scratch even if he was healthy.

Jay Harrison, Paul Postma, and Adam Pardy will all be healthy scratches on Saturday night as the Jets take on the Stars.

Tonight will be Harrison's second consecutive game in the stands, but he's been effective during his 17 games with the Jets. He's compiled four points, 17 PIMs, 26 hits, and 32 blocks, raising his season totals to eight points, 59 PIMs, 61 hits, and 67 blocks in 37 games. Pardy has also been effective in 29 games with 33 blocks, 34 hits, and 38 PIMs. But he hasn't played since Jan. 8th.

Jay Harrison, T.J. Galiardi, Paul Postma and Adam Pardy are healthy scratches in Thursday's game against the Flyers.

Harrison was acquired in a trade with Carolina earlier this season. He's played some important minutes for the Jets, but there will be less playing time for him as Winnipeg continues to get healthy. None of these players have any fantasy value going forward.

Jay Harrison has had a significant impact on the Jets' fortunes since his arrival.

In the 14 games after Harrison's acquisition from Carolina for a sixth round pick on December 18th, the Jets have a record of 8-4-2. Part of that is due to the veteran blueliner. That said, as soon as Jacob Trouba returns from injury (possibly right after the All-Star break), Harrison will be an extra defenseman and may have to spend some of his time in the Winnipeg Press Box.

Jay Harrison netted his first goal with the Jets on Monday night.

He scored on the power play early in the third period. Harrison finished the match with three shots and four hits in 20:31 of ice time. He has two points in eight games since being acquired by Winnipeg from Carolina.

Jay Harrison will make his Jets debut on Friday against the Bruins.

Harrison will line up on their second unit to the left of Grant Clitsome. The veteran defender tallied four points, 35 blocks and hits, along with 48 PIMs in 20 games while in Carolina this season.

Winnipeg has acquired Jay Harrison from Carolina in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

The selection originally belonged to the Ottawa Senators. In 20 games with the Hurricanes, Harrison has four points and 42 penalty minutes. Winnipeg's defense corps has been decimated with injury, so Harrison should be able to step directly into the lineup.

Jay Harrison, Brad Malone, and recently recalled Chris Terry will all sit as healthy scratches against the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon.

As Coach Peters continues to search for his best lineup, those who cannot help the scoring or defense will sit as there's just 11 points between these three.
Sun, Dec 7, 2014 05:12:00 PM

Jay Harrison and Brad Malone will continue to be healthy scratches for the Hurricanes against the Penguins Saturday night.

The Hurricanes will use the same lineup from Friday night that led to a 4-2 victory over the lethal Penguins, thereby making Harrison and Malone healthy scratches once again. Michael Jordan will continue as the seventh defensemen for the 'Canes.
Sat, Nov 29, 2014 05:21:00 PM

Jay Harrison and Brad Malone will be out against the Panthers on Wednesday night.

Both Harrison and Malone are healthy scratches. Michal Jordan (no, not that MJ) will see his first action of the season and sixth career game.
