Carolina allowed four goals in 10:54 minutes to start its game against the New York Islanders.
"It's unexplainable, the effort we had," Jay Harrison said. "That's not our game, not our preparation. We clearly were not ready to go. The accountability in the room … this can't be tolerated. The effort and inspiration has to be better." Carolina battled back, but the damage was done in the Islanders' 5-4 victory. That drops the Hurricanes to 31-32-9 this season.
